One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 99: Chapter 99: The Victor Lives, The Defeated Die

Although the group of samurai quickly averted their gaze, Jack noticed it right away.

It seemed like they still knew fear.

"Mmph…!"

"No! Please, no…"

"Damn it! You bastards from the Beasts Pirates!"

"Wait! Stop!"

"What are you doing?! Let's talk this out! Don't do this!"

"I surrender! I'll choose the women!"

"Coward! Shameful! How can a samurai stoop to such humiliation?! I would rather die!"

Two hundred prisoners began to lose their composure as the hulking guards approached. Many gave in, running to the side of the courtesans, but a handful of them struggled desperately, attempting to hurl themselves into death's embrace, only to be stopped by the guards.

Watching these samurai, who would rather die than submit, Jack pulled out a roster and carefully identified them. Upon realizing they were all samurai from Kuri, his face lit up with a sudden, almost sickening friendliness.

"Stop! No need to be so rough with them!"

"Let them go!"

Walking up to the guards, Jack took a long look at the defiant samurai before speaking in a deceptively gentle tone.

"Excellent! Your unwavering spirit has truly moved me!"

"So I've decided…"

He leaned in closer, his face suddenly dark with malice.

"To reward you by reuniting you with your families!"

Turning to his subordinates, Jack barked his next order.

"Bring their families here, every last one of them, according to the roster."

He paused, his expression turning icy.

"Then kill them all together!"

"You…!"

"Damn it!"

Before anyone could react, Jack grabbed a prisoner rushing at him and tightened his grip around the man's throat. Without turning, he addressed the guards.

"What are you standing around for? Get moving!"

He added with a sinister grin, "And once you bring them here, don't kill them right away. Let their families see these so-called warriors grovel and beg first. Then, kill them all."

Barabanuki, standing nearby, was frozen in shock. He muttered under his breath, "How is someone Jack's age this cruel? He's like a demon in human form…"

Jack's sharp ears picked up the comment, and he turned with a glare.

"Oi, Barabanuki! My hearing's pretty sharp, you know. Stop badmouthing me behind my back and get to work!"

Barabanuki, startled out of his wits, stammered, "Y-Yes, my apologies, Jack-sama! Right away!"

As Barabanuki rushed off with his men and the defeated samurai were dragged away in despair, a loud, commanding voice echoed from among the prisoners.

"Stop!"

"Hm?"

Jack turned toward the sound, his eyes narrowing. An elderly man stepped forward, his face lined with deep wrinkles and his fiery, flame-like hair unmistakable. Despite his thin frame, the muscle in his arms and the sharp aura around him marked him as no ordinary man.

Jack's gaze shifted to the man's shoulder, where a tattoo of a blue vest adorned with pink flowers caught his attention. Recognition flashed in his eyes as he recalled a name Kaido had once mentioned.

"Blue hair… Could it be… Hyogoro of the Flowers?"

Before Jack could speak, one of the guards sneered.

"Well, well, if it isn't Old Man Hyogoro! What's the matter? Thinking of rebelling against Jack-sama?"

Jack's brow furrowed slightly at the disrespectful tone but allowed the exchange to continue.

Hyogoro, unbothered by the taunt, took a step forward and addressed Jack directly.

"My lord, I only wish to ask: why do you continue to target us? We've already been imprisoned here, working ourselves to exhaustion every day. We're no threat to you anymore."

His voice grew heavy with emotion as he continued.

"We labor tirelessly for scraps of food. Why won't you leave us alone? Must you truly drive us to extinction?"

Tears welled up in the eyes of the samurai as Hyogoro's heartfelt plea reached them.

"Oh? So you think I'm singling you out?"

Jack stepped closer, his imposing frame looming over the elder.

"Congratulations, old man. You're absolutely right—I am targeting you!"

"Do you know why?" Jack smirked, his voice dripping with malice. "Because there's still a light in your eyes. Still holding on to some fantasy of a savior coming to rescue you?"

He laughed mockingly.

"Hate to break it to you, but this world has no saviors!"

"Jack!" Yamato suddenly chimed in, tilting her head. "What's a savior?"

Jack sighed in irritation. "It's your father!"

Yamato blinked in confusion. "But my father's Kaido, not a savior…"

"Shut up!"

The mention of Kaido sent a ripple of anger through the samurai. Their gazes sharpened as they began to close in on Jack and Yamato. Jack glanced around, his lips curling into a smirk.

"See? You're not as pitiful as you make yourselves out to be. That hatred is still burning inside you."

"But you've got it all wrong," Jack continued. "Your anger should be directed at that fool, Kozuki Oden, not me! If it weren't for him, you wouldn't be in this mess!"

"Enough of your pitiful looks!" Jack roared. "You think you can make demands of me? Here's the price for defying me!"

With that, Jack transformed into a massive mammoth, his trunk slamming into the ground with devastating force.

"Jack!" Yamato shouted, leaping to safety.

The impact left a trail of destruction, crushing several prisoners underfoot and sending others flying. In mere moments, hundreds were incapacitated, their blood staining the ground.

Jack reverted to his human form, his cold gaze sweeping over the trembling prisoners.

"Do you hate me?" he asked, his voice calm yet menacing. "Good. Then I'll give you a chance."

"To anyone who still has the will to fight—break your chains and face me. Defeat me, and you can go free."

"But if you fail…" Jack's eyes glinted dangerously.

"Every single one of you will die."

The silence that followed was heavy, broken only by the sound of shallow breathing. All eyes turned to Hyogoro, their unspoken leader, waiting for his decision.

Finally, the elder sighed, his lips curling into a bitter smile.

"Jack-sama… we cannot win."

He fell to his knees, bowing his head low.

"I beg you… spare us."

Jack's lips twisted into a satisfied grin.
