Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Birka Temple

"Thirty million volts, Thunder Beast!!"

"Sizzssssssssssssss..."

The sky above the Baibai Sea was flooded with lightning as Asa's figure rose and fell within it, resembling a mythical God of Thunder brought to life.

Increasing the current transmission, a vivid thunder beast separated from the lightning and let out a deafening roar that echoed across the heavens.

"Roar!!"

The thunder beast instantly appeared a thousand meters away, surging forward with tremendous impact, only to dissipate moments later.

So far, Asa could unleash lightning with a maximum output of about 60 million volts, comparable to Enel's Thunder Dragon move. However, the power of Asa's techniques was several times greater than Enel's, making any comparison between the two meaningless.

"Huh?" While deeply engrossed in refining his devil fruit abilities, Asa's heightened senses detected something unusual. His Observation Haki revealed a disturbance in the Baibai Sea.

A fierce, serpent-like Sea King had mistaken him for prey and attempted to attack from below the water's surface.

"It's not a sea monster like a sky balloon, but a Sea King washed here by ocean currents? Well, today's dinner is served..." Asa smirked, extending his hand into the air. "Thunder God's Spear!"

A lightning spear, shimmering with blue light and crackling with energy, materialized in his grasp. Asa brandished it like a weapon of judgment, thrusting it downward with precision. The spear's tip crackled with thunder and light as it moved at lightning speed.

At the same time, the Sea King emerged, roaring and leaping from the water. It unknowingly impaled itself on Asa's spear.

"Chichi!"

The Thunder God's Spear demonstrated unparalleled penetrating power, cutting through the Sea King as effortlessly as tearing through paper. The excessive voltage caused severe burns, and the delicious aroma of cooked meat wafted into the air as the beast's flesh charred within moments.

Asa sighed in slight frustration—burnt meat meant wasted food. Yet, the sheer power of his attack came with such consequences. The Sea King's body, scorched and damaged, floated lifelessly on the water.

"Let's try one last technique before dinner," Asa said, closing his eyes slowly.

If successful, this move would grant him long-range strike capabilities and unparalleled troop-clearing power. It would also solidify his plans for assaulting the Upper Yard, the Island of Gods.

Tuning into the electrons in the air, Asa expanded his Observation Haki to its utmost range. Within five kilometers, no creature, airflow, or water movement could escape his "vision."

Focusing on gathering and condensing the electrons, Asa suddenly opened his eyes and roared:

"God's Judgment!"

Five kilometers away, a massive lightning bolt descended from the heavens, striking the sea with immense force.

"Boom!!"

The seawater exploded into vapor, splitting into oxygen and dissipating in the atmosphere.

"Success!!" Asa grinned with satisfaction.

This technique mirrored the divine judgment Enel used to enforce order on Sky Island. Enel would use his Observation Haki to monitor the island and punish wrongdoers with lightning strikes. Asa, however, had vastly improved the method. His lightning strikes could change form, making them far more versatile and devastating.

For example…

"God's Judgment—Thunderbird!"

"Hey..."

The original lightning bolt transformed into a Thunderbird, a creature both more powerful and more maneuverable.

"Hahaha, perfect! Time for dinner, electrode training, then... Angel Island!" Asa laughed, seizing the Sea King's enormous body and dragging it back to his residence on Birka Island.

The meal was immensely satisfying. The Sea King's meat, enriched by its deep-sea environment, was tender, flavorful, and packed with energy.

Satiated, Asa lay on his wooden bed, resuming his nightly electrode strengthening routine.

One Month Later

Late one quiet, starry night, a figure emerged from the forest and headed toward the central temple of Birka.

The starlight revealed Asa's sharp features—his disheveled black hair, sword-like eyebrows, and lightning-filled eyes. His tall, well-proportioned frame radiated strength.

After a month of training, Asa had grown restless. The monotony of life on Birka gnawed at him, and his ambition demanded more. He craved the blue seas, the designs of the Ark Maxim, and the conquest of Upper Yard.

Arriving at the grand temple, Asa brazenly turned on the lights, indifferent to whether anyone saw him. After all, who could stop him? The people of Birka were weaklings unworthy of his attention.

Ascending the cloud-carved stairs, Asa casually blasted the temple doors open with lightning.

"Who goes there?" The previously drowsy guards jolted awake. About a dozen winged men armed with spears surrounded him.

"What do you want, boy?" the captain demanded.

"Why waste words? Let's take down this wingless intruder!" a soldier shouted, supported by murmurs of agreement.

"I'm here for the Ark 'Maxim' schematics. Are you sure you want to stop me?" Asa replied nonchalantly, his patience wearing thin.

"How dare you covet our sacred treasure?" The captain was livid. The Ark represented their hope of reaching the infinite land.

"Are you surrendering, or do you need help?" a lazy soldier taunted.

"Surrender? me? How quaint." Asa smirked, raising his hand. "Survive my lightning if you can!"

"Ten million volts, Thunderbird!"

A colossal blue Thunderbird erupted from Asa's hand, sweeping through the guards like a tempest.

"Ahhh!"

The cries of electrocuted soldiers echoed as their bodies collapsed, lifeless. A single lucky survivor fled in terror, screaming about monsters.

Question: I had this story sitting in my drafts for a couple months now. I was gonna release it on my Patreon first to gauge how much everyone likes it but most of my subscribers asked for a Marvel story instead, which I can't seem to find a good one btw. So my question is, Should I continue this story for now and hope a good Marvel story comes along or should I focus on one of the passable Marvel stories I found? thanks
