One Piece: Signing In as a Pirate Begins with Roger's Execution

Sea Calendar Year 1498.

The Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, who had conquered the Grand Line, unexpectedly surrendered to the Marines, shocking the entire world. 

Half a year later, the announcement of his public execution in Loguetown spread like wildfire, shaking the seas to their core! 

... 

"Why on earth was I chosen for this? Executing Roger… Are they sure I'm the right person for this?" 

A strikingly handsome man with rugged features wore an expression of deep frustration. 

"Commander Karl, the fact that Fleet Admiral Sengoku entrusted you with this task clearly shows his confidence in you!" 

The female Marine beside him looked at him with admiration. 

"Don't tease me, Bell-mère. Sengoku and Grandpa Garp will arrive in Loguetown soon. 

Gather the soldiers and ensure everything is prepared—I'll meet them at the harbor shortly." 

"Yes, sir! I'll see to it right away!" 

Bell-mère saluted and swiftly exited the office. 

Karl slumped onto his desk, looking for all the world like a student dreading class. 

"Eighteen years since I reincarnated into the "One Piece" world, and today marks my coming-of-age. 

Yet, instead of a proper celebration, I'm tasked with executing Roger in three days… and they say this is his wish. 

I've fought countless pirates before, but executing the Pirate King? That's on a completely different level!" 

Lying face-down on his desk, Karl exuded the aura of a "dead fish" (an idle, reluctant spirit). 

Eighteen years ago, Karl had transmigrated into the "One Piece" world. He was reborn as an infant on an island called God Valley. 

Though he was just a baby, Karl retained the memories and intellect of his past life, possessing the mind of an adult. 

He lived in God Valley Village for almost a year, treated as a prodigy by the locals. 

Just as he thought his life would be smooth sailing, disaster struck—the village was attacked! 

The notorious Rocks Pirates plundered the village, burned it to the ground, and slaughtered all the villagers! 

Karl believed his life was over, but Garp appeared just in time to save him. Unfortunately, Karl fainted during the chaos. 

At less than a year old, Karl's frail body barely clung to life despite his adult consciousness. 

He wasn't sure about the details of what happened afterward, but he was taken back to Marine Headquarters. 

That was the day Karl realized he had been reincarnated into the *One Piece* world. 

For the next eighteen years, he endured grueling training under Sengoku, Garp, and Zephyr, forging a tenacious will to survive. 

Looking back, Karl couldn't believe he managed to survive their tutelage. 

"Time to go. Let's get this over with…" 

He slapped his cheeks, straightened his Major's uniform, and headed to the harbor. 

Upon arrival, he saw Bell-mère efficiently managing the scene. 

The Marines were neatly lined up, leaving a clear path to welcome Sengoku and the others. 

Karl had been stationed as the commander of the Loguetown Marine Base for only a week. 

His predecessor had been arrested for corruption and sent back to Marine Headquarters, along with others involved. 

Karl had been hastily appointed to fill the vacancy. Thankfully, his near-Rear Admiral-level strength earned him respect, allowing him to stabilize Loguetown in such a short time. 

"Commander Karl, the troops are ready and awaiting your orders!" 

Bell-mère approached and saluted. 

Karl nodded and stepped to the front of the formation. 

Standing at 2.3 meters tall (about the height of NBA star Yao Ming), Karl cut an imposing and charismatic figure. 

In the "One Piece" world, his height was considered moderate, but it was enough to make most Marines look up to him—literally. 

Karl squinted at the horizon, spotting a Marine warship approaching. 

"Everyone, stay sharp! Prepare to welcome Fleet Admiral Sengoku and the Hero of the Marines!" 

"Yes, sir!" 

As the enthusiastic reply echoed, the warship docked at the harbor. 

Fleet Admiral Sengoku and Marine Hero Garp disembarked, accompanied by Vice Admirals Borsalino (Kizaru), Sakazuki (Akainu), and Kuzan (Aokiji). 

Karl was about to step forward to greet them when an icy voice suddenly echoed in his mind:

[Detected sign-in targets: Sengoku, Garp, Borsalino, Sakazuki, Kuzan.]

Hearing the voice in his mind, Karl froze, overwhelmed by emotion. Tears nearly welled up. 

Eighteen long years! 

Finally, the golden cheat ability every transmigrator dreams of had arrived! 

Did it know how hard these eighteen years had been for him? 

Since his transmigration, Karl had gone from hopeful to utterly resigned. 

He'd given up hope of any transmigration perks showing up—until today.

Karl's eyes turned red with gratitude as he thought about it. 

"Commander Karl, Fleet Admiral Sengoku has arrived…" 

Bell-mère gently reminded him. 

Snapping back to reality, Karl stepped forward to greet them. 

"Sengoku! Garp! I've missed you so much!" 

Karl had a close relationship with Sengoku and Garp, who treated him like a foster son. 

He gave Sengoku a bear hug, causing the Fleet Admiral to blush while Garp burst into laughter. 

After ten seconds, Karl shifted to clasp Garp's large hands. 

"Garp, you have no idea how tough this past week has been. 

You left me with such a mess—I spent an entire week getting Loguetown back in order!" 

"That's a good thing! It honed your abilities. Just look at the respect these Marines have for you," Sengoku replied sternly. 

Karl rolled his eyes at Sengoku's seriousness. 

He proceeded to shake hands with Borsalino, Sakazuki, and Kuzan for ten seconds each. 

Although the three were puzzled by Karl's actions, his special status made it difficult to refuse. 

After completing the handshakes, the system's voice finally returned:
