Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Come Forth, Mei Terumi
"Don't you get it? Your physical attacks are useless against me. No matter how fast or powerful you are, it's meaningless. So even if you managed to defeat the Red-Haired Pirates, you'll never defeat me.
Now—go to hell! Desert Spada!" Crocodile growled.
Right after he spoke, he transformed his arm into a massive sand blade and slashed it forward.
In the next instant, a beam of purple lightning shot straight ahead, cleaving the ground in two—it was a devastating, unstoppable force!
"The game isn't over. In fact... it's just getting started!" Rikuya Kazama smirked.
Right then, two system prompts echoed in his mind:
Ding! Successfully exchanged [Mei Terumi] (Character Card). 300,000 Reputation Points have been deducted from the host.
Ding! Host has successfully activated [Mei Terumi] Character Card. Remaining usage count: -1.
While he was being kicked away earlier—and while everyone else was distracted—Rikuya had already opened the system store and started browsing.
Defeating Crocodile's elementalized form was actually simple. Since his element was sand, all it took was to soak him in water or another liquid to disable his elemental transformation.
Once that happened, even basic physical attacks would be able to hurt him.
That's why Rikuya had instantly chosen the Water Release specialist from the Land of Water—the Fifth Mizukage, Mei Terumi!
Although the Mei Terumi character card cost a whopping 300,000 reputation points, Rikuya was currently flush with fame and could afford it easily.
Once he felt Mei Terumi's power fully activate, Rikuya immediately used one of her signature Water Release jutsu: Water Style: Water Pillar!
As the purple lightning beam was about to reach him, Rikuya opened his mouth and spat out a giant water orb like a falling meteor!
The orb collided with the beam mid-air, causing an explosive shockwave.
BOOOOM!
The sheer force of the two attacks clashing shattered every window in the nearby buildings.
Both Rikuya and Crocodile were blown backward several steps from the blast.
"What the hell kind of jutsu is that?" Crocodile's face darkened.
He had nearly succeeded in slicing Rikuya down, but out of nowhere the man had spit out a water sphere from his mouth!
No one understood Crocodile's strengths and weaknesses better than he did. And now that Rikuya was using water-based attacks—he was starting to panic.
Douglas Bullet, too, was baffled.
Rikuya's fighting style seemed completely unpredictable—chaotic, even. There was no consistent pattern to his techniques.
He had lived for decades and fought countless renowned warriors, but no one had ever used such bizarre, unheard-of attacks like Rikuya did.
"You like using elementalization to dodge my attacks, huh? Then I'll drown you in it!
Water Style: Hidden Mist Jutsu!"
As soon as Rikuya finished speaking, he opened his mouth again and exhaled a thick mist.
The entire battlefield was quickly shrouded in fog.
And more than just obscuring vision, the mist carried heavy moisture—enough that Crocodile immediately felt uncomfortable the moment it touched his skin.
That discomfort meant his body had come into contact with water—making it significantly harder for him to maintain his elemental form.
But worse than that, he was now trapped in dense mist with barely any visibility!
In response, Crocodile quickly formed another massive sandstorm in his right hand.
This version was much larger and faster than before—a Heavy Desert Storm, an enhanced version of his earlier attack.
He had no choice but to use it to disperse the thick mist around him.
But just as he was preparing to release the sandstorm—
An attack suddenly shot out from the fog.
Crocodile's eyes widened.
A dragon-shaped stream of water surged out from the mist, headed straight for him!
It was Rikuya's Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet Jutsu—a classic water technique.
The dragon burst through the sandstorm, tearing through the wind and sand as if it were nothing, and slammed directly into Crocodile's chest.
BAM!
Crocodile was blasted backward from the impact.
At the same time, the sandstorm in his hand dissolved completely.
When the mist finally cleared, Crocodile—who had looked like the sure victor—was now lying on the ground.
In contrast, Rikuya stood a short distance away, calm and collected, gazing down at him.
The entire casino fell into utter silence.
Moments ago, everyone had been blinded by the thick mist and had no idea what had just transpired. But now, the scene before them had flipped completely.
Crocodile coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Rikuya's water-style attack had clearly hit and inflicted real damage.
But both of them knew—a basic Water Dragon Bullet wouldn't be enough to completely defeat Crocodile.
Rikuya prepared to launch another wave of attacks.
Just then, a loud crash echoed from behind him.
Everyone turned to look—
A tall, muscular man came sprinting toward Rikuya. He was dressed in the garb of a Shaolin-style martial monk, with twin serpent emblems on his chest and a large kanji for "One" (壱) tattooed across it. He was bald, and his expression was fierce.
The moment Rikuya saw him, he recognized him instantly.
He was a top agent of Baroque Works—Daz Bonez, codename "Mr. 1"!
In Baroque Works, the smaller the number, the stronger the agent.
And Daz Bonez was one of the strongest.
