Chapter 210
Under the storm clouds, Enel, crackling with lightning, resembled a god.
Suddenly, a warrior in armor, riding a thunderbird, charged towards him.
"Who are you? Where did you come from?" Gan Fall demanded, spear in hand.
Enel's eyes flashed. "You are this island's god?"
"Indeed, I am Gan Fall, god of this island! What is your purpose, outsider?"
Enel laughed. "I'm here to become god! I've chosen this island. I'll build the Ark Maxim here and travel to the Unlimited World! But first, you'll be inconvenienced!"
The sky roared with intensified lightning. Enel raised his arm and unleashed a bolt of brilliant blue lightning at Gan Fall.
Gan Fall, unprepared for the attack, reined in his thunderbird, narrowly escaping. The lightning struck the ground where he'd stood, leaving a scorched area that would likely remain barren for decades.
"You dare disrupt Skypiea? You won't be leaving alive!" Gan Fall shouted, charging towards Enel on his thunderbird, spear poised to strike.
Crackle! The spear pierced Enel, sparking with electricity.
"Discharge!" Enel declared. Blue lightning surged along the spear, shocking Gan Fall.
Gan Fall cried out in pain. His age and weakened condition made him no match for Enel.
The islanders witnessed the battle, horrified that their god was being defeated by an outsider.
"Impossible! Gan Fall was defeated!"
"Who is that person? How can they control lightning?"
"Too strong! We can't fight them!"
Shock, fear, and anger filled the islanders. Their homeland was under attack.
Their long conflict with the Shandia highlighted their fierce territoriality.
They grabbed their weapons—kitchen utensils, clubs, and rare shells—and charged towards the island's center, where Enel stood.
On the island's edge, a man prepared to fight, determined to defend his home.
But a woman with white wings, resembling an angel, emerged from a building.
"Father, don't go! It's too dangerous!" she pleaded, worried.
"But as a son of Skypiea, how can I stand by while our island is invaded?!"
Conis bit her lip. "Then I'll go with you!"
"No, the center is too dangerous. This is a man's job!" He charged off.
Conis watched, filled with anxiety but powerless to act. She was an ordinary Skypiean girl, expecting a peaceful life, never imagining such a terrifying foe would attack.
As she watched her father, the nearby clouds began to rise. Conis' eyes widened in shock.
Ryuya and his companions burst through the clouds. Ryuya, emanating steam from his body (a sign of the Eight Gates), held a ferocious Sea King, tearing it in two. His companions followed.
"Oops, we went a bit too far.
There's another layer to the White Sea," Ryuya said, referring to the layer of clouds 10,000 meters above the Grand Line. He'd almost gone past Skypiea, only noticing the higher island by chance.
They'd encountered several Sea Kings during their ascent.
The cloud sea was unique; while Sea Kings existed, it lacked the properties of seawater, meaning Devil Fruit users retained their powers.
Conis, viewing them as invaders like Enel, turned to flee.
Ryuya, intrigued, used Geppo to appear before her.
Just then, thunder boomed…
