Otaku Witch

Chapter 410: 368. Just give it a try and then it's over.

"Hiss... What kind of crappy mirror is this, is it broken?"

Staring at her reflection in the mirror, Dorothy couldn't help but gasp in shock, disbelief filling her face beneath the mask.

In the end, she couldn't resist her curiosity and tried looking into this Conscience Devil's Mirror, but the image it reflected was indeed something she couldn't accept.

What appeared in the mirror was an extraordinarily tragic starry battlefield, where countless warships churned between worlds, and warriors of various races justly spread the seeds of destruction across the universe.

In the center of this massive fleet, aboard a colossal world warship comparable to an entire world, sat a Dragon Witch in her central Royal Palace, reclining on her throne, obscured in face. Next to the throne was an entourage of beauties, each a nation-toppling beauty, indescribably charming.

This Dragon Queen was basking in the adoration of the beauties beside her while casting her gaze upon the starry battlefield, taking delight in the dazzling fireworks show paid for by the destruction of countless worlds.

"This cannot possibly be me, absolutely not."

Dorothy was certain, this damn mirror must be broken; after all, according to the image, her heart would be filled with a frantic desire for war and a strong pursuit of beauty.

But how embarrassingly off the mark! Who didn't know that she was famously harmonious and friendly, and indifferent to feminine charms?

"LMAO, Dorothy, you kept saying you didn't want to be an Armed Witch, but now you've got nothing to say, huh? This Conscience Devil's Mirror is a true Divine Artifact created by The Third King himself; it couldn't possibly be wrong."

The mirth on her face, the joyous smile on the Clown mask face, became even more pronounced as Fanny's familiar teased her stubborn host.

Senior Fanny's true body was making itself at home atop the actual body of Dorothy, using her as a hat at the moment, and the mask on the face of this Martial Soul Incarnation was nothing more than a tiny tentacle extension of hers.

However, Senior Fanny's pleasure didn't last long, as with her activity, her own figure too was reflected in the mirror. The previous image of the starry battlefield swayed like ripples, and soon, as the mirror's surface calmed down again, what was reflected was the figure of a Long Black Straight Hair Witch in slumber, her hands, which rested peacefully on her chest, trembling slightly.

The next moment, the image zoomed out, and the endless worlds of the Western Universe quietly perished one after another, the boundless sustenance being channeled to the Witch World, expanding its bounds evermore, until one world encompassed the entire Western Universe.

Senior Fanny: "...."

"LMAO, Senior Sister, is this the world-ending Calamity you spoke of fifty years later? It really seems catastrophic, but it doesn't seem quite right, don't you dislike witches and think the Witch World is polluted?"

Dorothy too was taken aback, then slowly the expression beneath her mask turned to delight, as she began to take her revenge on her Senior for the earlier teasing.

"This mirror is definitely broken, though it's from The Third King, it's still several hundred thousand years old after all, and antiques can break down sometimes."

The laughing smile on the Clown mask froze, and Masked Senior Sister emotionlessly declared.

"Mhm, mhm, that's what I think too."

Taking the win as it came, the Homebody Witch nodded her head, wary that her irked senior might suddenly morph into a Tentacle Monster and thrash her.

Just when the two had seemingly reached an understanding, ripples once again spread across the mirror, followed by another shift in the image.

Dorothy and Senior Fanny, once again curious, turned their attention to the mirror.

This time it appeared to still reflect Dorothy's heart, but the background was no longer a battlefield; it was a peaceful and serene Western Universe, where diverse Races coexisted in harmony. And at the center of this Western Universe, with twelve wings along her waist, and a radiant sun hanging brightly above, a witch with an indistinct face was standing within a humble church, preaching a lesson.

In front of her were students of all Races, and it seemed they were all beauties capable of toppling nations. The eyes of these adoring students couldn't hide their feverish admiration as they looked upon the figure on stage, possibly an Angel Witch.

Dorothy: "..."

Senior Fanny: "...."

The two of them didn't know what to say at this point. Was the mirror really broken now? Just a moment ago, it was displaying visions of an apocalyptic war, and now it had shifted to a grand harmony of all Races. Wasn't the disparity between the images a bit too jarring?

Just when they were rendered speechless, ripples surged within the mirror once more, and the scene changed again. This time, a structure appeared that all witches were familiar with—an imposing and majestic complex of floating palaces.

It was the residence of the Council of Sages, the dwelling of the Witch King, and the capital of the Witch Clan—Pandora.

It was also the appellation of the world consciousness.

In the distant past, when the Witch World was still a frail realm, it was called Pandora.

"Hmm, it seems this time it's reflecting your heart, Senior."

Dorothy thought to herself,

Her expression beneath the Masked Senior Sister's mask seemed to agree, as Pandora had always been the dwelling place of the successive Witch Kings—making it fitting for her, The Fourth King, to take residence there.

However....

Looking at the two figures sitting together on the throne whose faces were unclear, but whom they recognized instantly, they fell into silence together.

"Senior, the mirror must be broken. Don't overthink it. After all, you know me—I have never been interested in power and prestige."

After a long while, a scared Dorothy seriously justified herself in her heart.

"Hmm, I know. I didn't overthink it either. I was just curious why it's you holding me, not me holding you. Also, don't you think the wings on your back, Dorothy, you heartbreaker, are a bit too plentiful?"

Senior Fanny's tone revealed no discernable emotion as she spoke.

"Senior, I think you're focusing on the wrong part?"

"What else should I focus on? Should I say 'such a formidable character, cannot be left unattended,' and then strangle you, a treacherous usurper coveting my throne?"

....

At that moment, immortal Qi wafted in the mirror, enshrouded in cloud mist, with Immortals playing music and Fairies dancing, dragons and phoenixes singing in harmony....

A figure in a black Dragon Robe appeared, wearing a Flat Sky Crown (a traditional Chinese imperial crown, like that of Qin Shi Huang). Even though her face was obscured by the Beaded Curtain hanging from the Imperial Canopy, her domineering gaze seemed to pierce through endless space-time, looking towards Dorothy's side.

Crack....

A sound of something breaking echoed.

The Homebody Witch immediately teleported away from the Conscience Devil's Mirror, and then she and Senior Fanny silently contemplated the fine crack that had formed on the edge of the divine artifact, the magic mirror.

Ugh, now it's completely ruined.

...Dorothy, in terror....
