Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The Mysterious Visitor
"Yuhan, what do you need my help with?" Chen Mo asked as he drove.
"Don't worry, you'll find out when we get there," Lin Yuhan said with a mysterious smile, refusing to answer his question.
Chen Mo shook his head, exasperated. This Yuhan was incredibly patient, keeping him in the dark even now.
The car pulled up in front of a stylish cafe. Yuhan stepped out first, followed by Chen Mo.
"Please come in, gentlemen," the waiter greeted them warmly, leading them to a window seat.
"What would you like to drink?" Yuhan asked.
"Anything," Chen Mo replied, his mind preoccupied with Yuhan's request.
Yuhan ordered two cappuccinos, then turned to Chen Mo. "Chen Mo, I know you've been having some trouble lately."
Chen Mo's heart skipped a beat. Did Yuhan know about Wang Fatty's betrayal?
"You... how did you know?" Chen Mo asked cautiously.
"I know more than you think," Yuhan smiled enigmatically. "I came to see you to make a deal."
"A deal? What kind of deal?" Chen Mo was even more confused.
"I can help you take down Wang Fatty, but in exchange, you need to do something for me," Yuhan said calmly, her eyes unwavering.
"Help me take down Wang Fatty? How?" Chen Mo was incredulous. This delicate-looking Yuhan couldn't possibly defeat that cunning old fox.
"That's not your concern. Just tell me, will you do it?" Yuhan asked, a hint of authority in her voice.
Chen Mo fell into deep thought. He had no idea what Yuhan was up to, why she wanted to help him, or what she wanted him to do. But he had a feeling that agreeing to her request would draw him into a massive whirlpool...
Chen Mo stared intently at Yuhan, trying to glean something from her impassive face, but he was disappointed. Her expression management was clearly better than he'd imagined.
"Why would you help me?" Chen Mo decided to get to the bottom of things first. Why would someone help him out of the blue? And her tone suggested that taking down Wang Fatty was a piece of cake, which made him even more suspicious.
Yuhan took a sip of her coffee and said slowly, "Because, like you, I want to see Wang Fatty pay for his crimes."
"You have a grudge against him?" Chen Mo frowned, sensing a hidden backstory.
"Yes," a flicker of hatred crossed Yuhan's eyes, but it quickly vanished. "My father's company was swallowed up by him through despicable means!"
"What?" Chen Mo was shocked. Wang Fatty had actually done something like that!
"My father couldn't handle the blow and fell ill..." Yuhan's voice faltered, but she quickly regained control. "I vowed to make Wang Fatty pay for his crimes!"
Chen Mo fell silent. He could feel Yuhan's hatred, a deep-seated resentment that resonated with him.
"So, that's why you need my help?" Chen Mo asked.
"That's right," Yuhan nodded. "Wang Fatty has been doing terrible things for years. I have a lot of evidence of his crimes, but I need someone like you, someone skilled in technology, to make those evidence public!"
"I see..." Chen Mo suddenly understood. Yuhan had sought him out because of his skills!
"So, what do you say? Will you help me?" Yuhan's eyes burned with intensity as she waited for his answer.
Chen Mo found himself in a difficult position. He wanted to help Yuhan, to see Wang Fatty, that evil man, get what he deserved. But he didn't want to get caught up in this conflict, especially since he was in a precarious situation himself...
Chen Mo's mind raced, like an overclocked CPU, frantically analyzing the situation.
On one side, he was in dire straits, desperately needing help. On the other, there was Yuhan, burdened with vengeance and shrouded in mystery.
Agreeing to her request meant facing the powerful Wang Fatty, a dangerous gamble that could end in his downfall.
Refusing her would be a betrayal of his conscience, and given Wang Fatty's methods, he might not escape his clutches.
"I..." Chen Mo opened his mouth, but couldn't find the words.
Yuhan seemed to sense his hesitation and sighed softly. "I know what you're worried about. Don't worry, I won't let you risk anything for nothing."
"What can you offer me?" Chen Mo looked up, meeting Yuhan's gaze. He knew this wasn't the time for hesitation. Some things needed to be made clear.
Yuhan didn't speak. Instead, she took a bank card from her purse and placed it gently on the table.
"This has a million in it. The password is six sixes. Consider it a down payment," Yuhan said calmly and resolutely. "After we succeed, I'll give you another five million as a reward."
"Six million..." Chen Mo's heart skipped a beat. This was a fortune for him. With this money, he could pay off his debts and start a new life.
But he knew deep down that this money wouldn't come easily.
"What do I have to do?" Chen Mo took a deep breath, suppressing his excitement. He knew there was no free lunch, especially one this big.
"I need you to hack into Wang Fatty's company system and get the evidence of his crimes," a cold glint flashed in Yuhan's eyes. "I want him to be disgraced and lose everything!"
"Hack into his company system?" Chen Mo frowned. "That's going to be tough. His company's network security is very tight. I..."
"I know you can do it," Yuhan interrupted, her voice firm. "I believe in your skills."
Chen Mo fell silent. He knew Yuhan was right. With his skills, hacking into Wang Fatty's company system wasn't impossible, but it was incredibly risky. If he got caught, the consequences would be dire.
"Give me some time to think about it," Chen Mo finally replied, unable to give a definite answer. He needed time to weigh the pros and cons.
"Alright, but I hope you'll give me your answer soon," Yuhan said, rising to her feet. "I'll be waiting for your news."
With that, Yuhan turned and left the cafe, leaving Chen Mo alone with his cold cappuccino, lost in thought...
