Overdrafting the Future, Starting in Naruto

Starting from July of Konoha Year 47, Kinoshita Genichi and Uzumaki Ina began long-term infiltrations of the other ninja villages to gather intelligence on the Tailed Beasts and their jinchuriki.

For every village, unless they could already control and suppress the power of their Tailed Beast, the jinchuriki was a heavily monitored and protected asset. Obtaining intelligence on a jinchuriki was a difficult task. And making a move on one without being noticed was even harder. Even with his powerful genjutsu, Genichi couldn't do it.

This was why the fact that Kushina Uzumaki had been abducted by Cloud-nin in the past was so questionable. Of course, if she hadn't been a jinchuriki at the time, but merely a candidate, then it would have been normal.

Much of Genichi's prior understanding of jinchuriki was based on his knowledge from his past life. Since he began his infiltration and intelligence gathering, he had learned much more.

For example, Kirigakure's Six-Tails jinchuriki, Utakata, did not live within the village itself, but on a small island, surrounded by a barrier and under extremely strict guard. A simple infiltration was one thing, but entering with a "legitimate" identity was the most difficult part. An ability like White Zetsu's, for example, could allow one to infiltrate from underground. Genichi didn't have an earth-style jutsu for that, but he could leave a Flying Thunder God marker when Kirigakure rotated its guards and enter that way. But infiltrating in this manner would lead to a quick discovery. So, to be safe, while keeping this option open, Genichi spent half a month replacing a barrier ninja from the Mist. Through the rotation of barrier maintenance, he arrived at the island where the Six-Tails' jinchuriki was held.

During his half-month rotation, he witnessed the jinchuriki rampage a total of six times. Genichi didn't know about Kushina's situation in the past, but since he had known her, he had never seen her rampage once. When a jinchuriki was young, it was difficult to control the Tailed Beast's power, and rampages were common. This was because the Tailed Beast could inject its malicious will into its chakra to influence the jinchuriki.

From a results-oriented perspective, people with personalities like Killer Bee and Naruto were the most suitable to be jinchuriki, and also had the best hope of becoming perfect jinchuriki.

However, by observing from a close distance, and even participating in sealing the rampaging Six-Tails, Genichi was able to obtain more intelligence. With each rampage, Utakata's adaptability to the Tailed Beast's power increased, and each rampage was stronger than the last. And after a rampage, his own training speed would increase, and his physical stamina would see a significant boost. This was clearly the Tailed Beast's chakra influencing his body.

However, Kirigakure's sealing techniques were far inferior to Konoha's, and they certainly didn't have a seal like the Eight Trigrams Seal, which could allow the Tailed Beast's leaking power to feed back into the jinchuriki.

At the beginning of August, as his rotation was about to end, Genichi found an opportunity to "die" during a Six-Tails rampage and made a clean getaway. Of course, before leaving, he secretly left a Flying Thunder God formula marker on Utakata.

Madara Uchiha was not yet dead. Genichi didn't want to stick his neck out, so he wouldn't make a move on the Tailed Beasts for now. "And Tailed Beast chakra is even more special," he continued. "Their bodies are made of chakra, and chakra is their body."

"If you exclude the influence of negative emotions," Genichi said, carefully sensing the Six-Tails' chakra, "all Tailed Beast chakra possesses powerful life force and can quickly heal wounds." He had experienced this long ago with the Eight-Tails' chakra.

However, the Eight-Tails' horn sealed within him and the Six-Tails' chakra he now held were different. The horn had been cultivated by Orochimaru, so its power could be said to be extremely pure. That is, the negative emotions it contained were almost non-existent. The horn had a consciousness, but it was only an instinctual one, without a strong subjective will, like the human subconscious, only possessing the instinct to recover chakra.

However, ever since he had completely unsealed it and entered a partial Tailed Beast state during the fight with the Mist-nin, the horn was no longer so pure. It had gained some negative emotions, which had originated from Genichi himself. This showed that the influence between a Tailed Beast and a jinchuriki was mutual.

After carefully comparing the chakra of the Eight-Tails and the Six-Tails, an idea had already formed in Genichi's mind. He retracted the Six-Tails' chakra into the Eight Trigrams Seal, had Ina stand guard, and then closed his eyes.

The next moment, within the Yin Seal, his Primordial Spirit stood up and stepped into the space of the Eight Trigrams Seal. This sealed space had two iron cages. One held the Eight-Tails' horn. The other held the collected Six-Tails' chakra, which was currently in a pure chakra form, crimson red, like a lake of magma, bubbling and gurgling.

The seal was released, and the iron cage opened. When Genichi stepped inside, the Six-Tails' chakra immediately erupted, flooding over him like a tide. But in the next moment, his power flared, and the chakra was sent rolling back.

Genichi then formed a hand seal, performing the Art of Sha. The power to freely control one's own body and the bodies of others; the spiritual power of all things, let me connect with it.

His development of this secret art was not deep. He naturally couldn't truly control the bodies of others or connect with the power of all things. But with the enhancement of the art, he could use his own powerful spiritual will to forcibly suppress and guide the Six-Tails' consciousness hidden within the chakra.

For a moment, the Six-Tails' chakra surged, then continuously gathered, condensing into a mass, and then gradually took on flesh, becoming a tail. A milky-white, slug-like tail.

"Hah… hah…" Genichi panted, wiping the sweat from his brow, but he couldn't help but smile. The Six-Tails' tail before him had verified his previous speculation and laid the foundation for his future ideas.

Whoever wanted to be the Ten-Tails' jinchuriki could go ahead. He, for one, did not want to. He would rather study the Tailed Beasts themselves. In the ninja world, becoming the jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails was not the only path to a long life. In fact, with Kaguya in the picture, it was very likely a huge trap.

Resealing the tail, Genichi's Primordial Spirit returned. But he was now thinking that he must study Yin-Yang Release in the future. Creating matter wasn't hard—Water and Earth Release could be said to do that—but creating life was on another level entirely. Konoha might have some accumulated knowledge in this area, but probably not much.

The Rinnegan? The Truth-Seeking Orbs? Many thoughts flashed through his mind.

Two days later, Genichi and Ina arrived in the Land of Wind, then used the Flying Thunder God to enter Sunagakure. At this time, the Sand Village was at full war with the Stone Village and was winning battle after battle. It was a state of high external tension but internal relaxation. Once they had infiltrated, the rest was much simpler.

The One-Tail's jinchuriki, Bunpuku, was also being held in confinement at this time, and his seal was relatively stable. After observing for five or six days, Genichi decisively made his move, using genjutsu to manually trigger a rampage, and then took the opportunity to collect the leaking chakra. He still had no intention of taking the Tailed Beast itself. Taking a Tailed Beast now would attract too much attention and make him a target.

And so, for half a month, the One-Tail's jinchuriki rampaged repeatedly, torturing the already elderly Bunpuku to the brink of death. The Fourth Kazekage suspected that someone was pulling strings in the dark and connected it to the previous disappearance of the elder and Pakura. But he couldn't find any trace of the culprit. However, the matter of the next jinchuriki had to be considered, which gave him a headache.

Genichi, on the other hand, left Sunagakure with Ina, fully satisfied. Their next stop was the Hidden Waterfall Village in the Land of Waterfalls. The village's seclusion was due to its geographical location, but for Genichi, who could mimic chakra and was a master of genjutsu, entering was not difficult. But the jinchuriki… the Waterfall Village had no jinchuriki. The Seven-Tails was in a sealed state, also under strict guard, and even more difficult to approach.

What to do? Use genjutsu. Release the sealed Seven-Tails. While it was rampaging, he would harvest a wave of its chakra, then use the Flying Thunder God to leave and rendezvous with Ina outside the village.

After getting the Seven-Tails' chakra, the two of them headed north to the Land of Lightning and infiltrated the Hidden Cloud Village. And so, the Two-Tails also began to rampage, only to be quickly suppressed by the Third Raikage. Genichi also witnessed the true power of the Third Raikage for the first time. The rampaging Two-Tails was brutally beaten and then suppressed by him. So ferocious!

So, after triggering only one rampage, Genichi quietly withdrew.

Mountain's Graveyard.

Aloe White Zetsu reported to Madara. "Lord Madara, I've discovered something strange recently. The Tailed Beasts and jinchuriki of the various great villages have been rampaging one after another."

Madara slowly opened his eyes. "Tailed Beast rampages should be a very normal thing, no? Apart from Konoha, the other villages' sealing techniques are not sufficient to completely suppress them."

"That may be so," Aloe White Zetsu said, throwing up his hands, "but they've been rampaging far too frequently. Especially the One-Tail. That guy named Bunpuku, although he's old, seemed to get along well with the One-Tail. He hadn't rampaged in a long time. And the Seven-Tails in the Waterfall Village has always been in a sealed state. I suspect someone intentionally broke the seal and released it."

Madara's expression became a little more serious. "Oh? Is someone plotting to gather the Tailed Beasts?"

"I'm afraid so," Aloe White Zetsu nodded. "But we haven't found out who it is yet. There shouldn't be many in the ninja world with that kind of ability, right?"

Madara thought for a moment, then said, "Then keep an eye on the jinchuriki and Tailed Beasts of the great villages. You don't need to get close. You just need to know who is making a move on them."

He didn't care who had the Tailed Beasts, but he had to know who had them.
