Freed's screams intensified, his voice raw and filled with agony. His flesh started to tear apart, as if something was trying to force its way out from within him. Blood spattered across the floor, the metallic scent filling the air as his body twisted and contorted in unnatural ways. The Guardians and the Pleiades maids watched impassively, their expressions unchanging as the man before them was torn apart from the inside.
The final moments were a grotesque display of suffering. Freed's skin split open, revealing pulsating, writhing tendrils of darkness that lashed out in every direction. His bones cracked and shattered, his body a vessel of torment as the Sacred Gear exerted its full power. Finally, with one last, gurgling scream, Freed's body collapsed, a lifeless husk drained of all vitality.
The Sacred Gear floated above the remains, now pulsing with even greater intensity, as if it had been fed and was now satiated.
After the experiment was over, Demiurge turned to Evil Lord Wrath, his tone as calm and measured as ever. "Resurrect him," he ordered, "and take him to the Neuronist. Freed was instrumental in the creation of this Sacred Gear, so it is only fitting that we reward him appropriately. Ensure that his mind is restored—he may yet prove useful in future endeavours."
Evil Lord Wrath nodded, his expression was expressionless as he prepared to carry out the task. With a flick of his wrist, dark energy began to swirl around Freed's lifeless body. The remains of the man twitched, then convulsed as the resurrection spell took hold, knitting his shattered bones and torn flesh back together. The process was slow and gruesome, but eventually, Freed's body was restored, though he remained unconscious, his form still frail and fragile.
Demiurge then turned to the Guardians, his gaze sweeping over them. "As you have witnessed, the power of 'Eternal Damnation' is unparalleled, but it is not without its dangers. The user must be chosen with the utmost care, as the Sacred Gear's strength can easily consume those unworthy of its power."
"From the looks of it, it can't be mass-produced, am I right," Albedo asked.
Demiurge nodded in response to Albedo's question. "I can make a less powerful version of this, but as you might expect it also required sacrifice and lots of test material, Which I am unable to get because of Lord Alexander's orders."
Shalltear, who had been silent for a while, spoke up, her voice laced with curiosity. "So, who do you think should wield it, Demiurge?"
Demiurge smiled faintly, his eyes glinting with dark amusement. "That decision, of course, lies with Lord Alexander. Only he possesses the wisdom and insight to determine who is truly worthy—or perhaps daring enough—to wield such a weapon. 'Eternal Damnation' is not just a tool; it is a force of immense power. But only in the hands of someone who can handle its volatile nature without being consumed by it."
Albedo nodded, her golden eyes thoughtful as she considered Demiurge's words. "Given the power of this Sacred Gear, it would require someone with both strength and resolve. Perhaps someone from the world Lord Alexander is currently influencing."
"Precisely," Demiurge replied. "Lord Alexander's involvement with Rias Gremory's peerage and Sona Sitri's group suggests that he may have already identified individuals with the potential to wield such power. These young devils, despite their relative inexperience, possess great potential. Under Lord Alexander's guidance, they could grow into formidable assets—possibly even becoming worthy of the Sacred Gear."
Shalltear tilted her head, her interest clearly piqued. "Do you think that's why Lord Alexander plans to bring them to Nazarick in following days? It would make sense if he intends to shape them further, to mold them into something more... useful."
Demiurge's smile widened, a hint of pride in his tone. "I believe that is exactly what he intends. By bringing them to Nazarick, Lord Alexander can offer them the kind of training and exposure they could never receive in their own world. They would be under his direct influence, shaped by his hand to become perfect instruments of his will. And in time, one of them may indeed be deemed worthy of 'Eternal Damnation' or other tools we create."
"It's a bold plan. By integrating them into Nazarick, Lord Alexander not only strengthens our forces but also ensures their unwavering loyalty. They will see the true power of our realm, and once they do, there will be no turning back for them." Albedo said.
"Indeed," Demiurge agreed. "And in doing so, he also ensures that our influence extends into their world. They will be our bridge, our connection to a world ripe for control."
The Guardians exchanged glances, each of them understanding the thingswhich they need to know. The idea of integrating powerful beings from another world into Nazarick's ranks was not only ambitious but also a testament to Lord Alexander's far-reaching plans.
"In the end," Demiurge concluded, "Lord Alexander's vision extends beyond any single world. He is preparing for something much greater, and we must be ready to support him in every possible way. Bringing Rias Gremory's peerage, Sona Sitri, and others here is just the beginning of a much larger strategy."
