Chapter 217: **Chapter 217: Whoever Stands in My Way Will Die!**

**Chapter 217: Whoever Stands in My Way Will Die!**

Zhao Ling ignored the stunned expressions of those around him. He picked up Bibi Dong and leaped into the entrance of the City of Slaughter.

Upon landing, Zhao Ling gently set her down. Her soft voice reached his ears. "Honey, it's so dark here."

"Are you scared?" Zhao Ling asked her gently. With his fully developed Purple Demon Eye, the darkness posed no problem for him.

"Scared? With you by my side, what could I possibly fear? Or rather, is there anything scarier than you in this world?" Bibi Dong replied playfully, causing Zhao Ling to grimace in embarrassment.

To this girl, he indeed seemed more terrifying than most things.

"Let's go. We need to head for the passage ahead," Zhao Ling said, taking her hand and leading her forward.

As they walked, time seemed to blur. Suddenly, Zhao Ling stopped and glanced toward one side of the passage, as if sensing something. After a brief pause, voices echoed around them.

"Welcome to the City of Slaughter. This is the capital of hell, a world drenched in blood..."

Before the voice could continue, Zhao Ling sneered, "Stop the theatrics and shut up. If you say another word, I'll kill you."

The voice immediately fell silent. Zhao Ling and Bibi Dong continued forward until they saw a faint glimmer of light in the distance.

When they emerged from the passage, they were met by a hundred black-armored soldiers. Zhao Ling recalled these figures from the original story, where Tang San had encountered them.

"Sir, you've violated the rules," a man clad in heavy armor said, seated atop a towering horse. His gaze was stern as he assessed Zhao Ling, whose aura seemed even more imposing than that of the King ruling the City of Slaughter.

"Rules? Rules are for you. They can't bind me," Zhao Ling replied indifferently, pulling Bibi Dong along as he walked toward the distant black city.

His arrogant demeanor left the black-armored soldiers stunned, but their captain couldn't let them leave unchallenged. Drawing his sword, he urged his horse forward and shouted, "You've broken the rules and must face the punishment! Unless you defeat me, the Terror Knight Scott, you cannot—"

"Get lost," Zhao Ling said softly, turning slightly.

In an instant, Scott's horse reared up in terror before its head separated cleanly from its body and fell to the ground. The headless corpse toppled with a heavy thud. Scott barely managed to leap aside to avoid being crushed.

Scott was dumbfounded. How could a single word from this man cause such devastation? By the time he regained his senses, Zhao Ling and Bibi Dong had disappeared from view.

Realizing his error, Scott muttered, "I forgot to give them proof of entry to the City of Slaughter. Oh well, with that man's power, it doesn't matter."

The pair soon arrived at the dark city gates, where four ominous words—City of Slaughter—hung above. Black-armored warriors stood silently on either side, and a veiled girl emerged from within.

"Welcome to—"

Before she could finish, Bibi Dong nudged Zhao Ling and teased, "Honey, what do you think of this girl? Isn't she your type? She has a nice figure…"

Zhao Ling rolled his eyes in exasperation. Raising his free hand, he tapped her forehead lightly.

"What nonsense are you spouting? I like women, especially beautiful ones, but you can't just push every attractive woman onto me. If you keep this up, I'll spank you until you can't sit straight. Don't think I won't do it."

Bibi Dong fell silent, not wanting to provoke him further. The surrounding warriors exchanged nervous glances. These two were either fearlessly naïve or astonishingly confident to speak so casually in front of the City's envoy.

The veiled girl, however, remained composed. She raised her hand and launched an attack at Bibi Dong, but Zhao Ling blocked it effortlessly with a wave of his sleeve.

His tone was calm but commanding as he warned, "Touch her again, and I'll cut off your hands and feet."

The veiled girl instinctively stepped back, unsettled by the sheer authority in his voice. She studied Zhao Ling with a mix of fear and curiosity.

Who is he? How could such a person exist on Douluo Continent? He even surpasses the King in power and appearance.

Zhao Ling, unimpressed by her scheming demeanor, turned away. The "Female Killer" effect, designed to charm women he found appealing, didn't activate, as Zhao Ling had no interest in her.

Regaining her composure, the veiled girl said, "Since you've entered the City of Slaughter, you must follow its rules and show proof of entry."

"Rules?" Zhao Ling sneered. "Rules are for the weak. Anyone who stands in my way will die."

Without waiting for a response, he strode confidently through the gates. None of the warriors, nor the veiled girl, dared to stop him, fully convinced that his words were no idle threat.

As he disappeared into the city, the veiled girl hesitated briefly before retreating to the palace to report this unprecedented event to the King of Slaughter.
