Percy Jackson - Stone Monkey

Chapter 6: chapter 3!

"Well shit." I Said, the hunters pointing their arrows towords me, mainly my lower region and head. Seems they want to cause me as much pain as possible.

"Now I'll ask again. Why are you here." The girl asked, her silver eyes boring into my own golden ones.

The hunters though, looked confused. As if asking me again was something remarkable.

"I'm...I'm simply here, hunting a boar. And as I was about to finish it off, an arrow was sent into its head. After that. Well you should know the rest." I Said simply, crouching slightly, ready to attack at a moments notice.

This caught the women's attention, each of them moving a bit closer as to cut off any escape route I could take.

She looked at me quizically, her eyes which shone like moonlight boring into my very soul.

"If that's all. You may go."

She said, the sounds of the forest stopping as the hunters turned to her with surprises expressions.

"But my lady!-" The copper skinned one said, only to be cut off when the woman raised her hand.

"Quiet Zoë. He's done no wrong. And besides, he wont live long wandering like that..." She said to the woman, now known as Zoë.

Zoë's jaw tightened, but she bowed her head, still clearly displeased. "I... Very well, Lady Artemis."

Wait. Artemis? Like the Greek goddess of the moon? Shit, they're real too? And what did she mean about being the child of someone? Does she know my parents-

"Boy." However, I was quickly cut off from my thoughts, Artemis turning her gaze back to me.

"Yes?" I ask curiously, staring into her eyes. Only now did I start noticing how beautiful she was- "Whenever you find yourself lost. Look to the moon, and it shall guide you." Artemis said suddenly, surprising everyone including herself. The hunters gave me confused glances before following their goddess, leaving me alone in that forest.

"The Hell was that about."

One second, she's a heartbeat away from ending my life, and the next, she's tossing me cryptic advice like we're old friends? What kind of game was she playing at?

I quickly shook my head, going back to grab the boar that was killed earlier. 'They must've forgotten about it'

----Pov Switch---

Years later...

Three years passed. Not much really happened—at least, nothing life-changing. I kept moving, drifting from city to city, until I eventually wound up in New York.

"Come on, don't be like that! I said I was sorry!"

Valin leapt from one rooftop to the next, easily clearing the gap with a fluid grace that made the whole thing look effortless. Behind him, a furious screech echoed through the night as a winged figure shot after him.

A harpy. if the massive talons and leathery wings weren't enough of a giveaway. What made this particular one stand out, however, was the poorly drawn mustache scribbled across her upper beak.

"Seriously, that's not even my fault! Someone else had the marker!" Valin called over his shoulder, the marker still in hand , laughing as the harpy screamed in rage and swooped toward him.

He twisted mid-air, narrowly avoiding a swipe of her claws as he flipped onto the next rooftop. "Relax! It'll wash off eventually-probably!"

The harpy shrieked again, banking hard to the left as Valin smirked. His golden tail flicked behind him, balancing him with perfect control as he sprinted toward the building's edge.

He leaped off, vaulting over a crumbling air conditioning unit before dropping toward the street below. His feet hit the pavement with a sharp crack as he rolled to absorb the impact. The harpy followed, screeching as she plummeted down in a furious dive.

"Persistent, aren't you?" Valin muttered.

A clawed hand lashed out. Valin sidestepped, narrowly avoiding having his face clawed off. His hand shot out, grabbing a discarded metal trash can lid from the sidewalk.

The harpy dove, and Valin twisted at the last second, slamming the trash can lid across her face like a makeshift shield. The creature screamed, spiraling backward into a parked car. The windshield exploded into a shower of glass as the harpy writhed, disoriented.

Valins Streangth grew through the years, easily stronger than dozens of adult men put together by this point...

Valin grinned. "Good to know you're not as graceful as you think."

The harpy's wings flared wide, her golden eyes burning with rage. "You will suffer for this-"

"Yea yea~" In the next moment, he flashed forward at speeds far Exceeding what he's shown to the harpy, his fist reeled back as he smashes it into her beak, his fist not stopping for even a second as the harpies head explodes

The body crumpled before disintegrating into golden dust.

Valin straightened, golden energy flickering across his knuckles as he shook off the remaining dust. His expression remained calm, almost bored.

The energy occasionally flared when he was in combat

Strength like this… it came naturally. He rarely needed to train, his power simply existed, a gift etched into his very bones. Still, he refined his skills when he could, especially his combat form and his work with the bo staff. Raw strength meant nothing without control afterall.

"That was pretty fun...but i guess i need to get going."

He stretched his arms over his head, feeling the satisfying crack of his joints. He didn't have a clear destination in mind, but there was… something calling to him. A faint pull beneath his skin, like a magnetic thread tugging him forward.

His golden eyes flicked to the sky. He was close to something important.

With that thought, he took off at a sprint, his feet barely touching the rooftops as he blurred through the city. Buildings and streetlights melted into streaks of light as he pushed his speed further, his golden tail whipping behind him.

An hour and a half later, he stood at the edge of a rocky cliff overlooking the north shore of Long Island. The ocean stretched out endlessly before him, the salty breeze stirring his hair. The moonlight danced across the waves, the faint sound of crashing surf echoing in his ears.

"Long Island, huh?" His gaze sharpened as he scanned the shoreline. His golden eyes narrowed at the sight of a distant hill, a stretch of woods, and the faint flicker of firelight deeper within the tree line.
