Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead

Chapter 1013: Unexpected Occurrence

Before them, the exact scene that had occurred here just as the people had gathered and were preparing to leave, played out, the various individuals were not perfectly recreated, merely resembling shades of themselves formed from their presence, giving them all a different colour, some of them not even forming a whole body as their presence was too weak.

Each of their words was spoken clearly with their own voices, unfortunately for the undeads, the information that was contained within those few lines was not of dire importance, apparently, there was a chance for someone to be taken to the wrong realm and such, apart from that, it was mostly useless information, nothing that could indicate or give a clue as to how to find the realm they had gone to, or even what it was like.

The livings had not known the details and had gone in blind, which resulted in those trying to pursue them to have basically no information at all.

"Solzmimi, any idea on the realm they might have been sent to?" asked Loimos, the sun ancestor a bit taken aback to hear her own name coming out from the pure undead, the pronunciation was perfect, but it still didn't feel right to be directly named by him, the way he spoke was just abnormal, it felt like him knowing someone's name would allow to cast curses on them.

She still formed a smile however, shaking her head.

"Sorry, but I have no idea, Arzt did not inform me of anything beyond what you just heard, he had probably thought about the Emerald Realm losing, and thus, only kept information to himself… Also, you can just call me Sol, or Mimi" the sun ancestor winked, restraining a laugh as One visibly seethed internally.

Solzmimi had found someone perfect to mess with, Maliah on the other hand, seemed unreactive, much less amusing.

Loimos did not confirm nor deny whether or not he would be using these nicknames in the future, and simply opened a rift, manifesting the typical type of portal used by the Undead Empire, although it appeared like a manipulation of space, which was basically what it was, it was far simpler of a thing to do as it made use of the fact that the various realms of death were linked to all else, especially Oblivion.

So rather than manifesting a portal from point A to point B, what happened was one would step in Oblivion, and basically be taken to the correct rift in an instant, the will of Death guiding them.

Quite a lot of undeads could manifest them without much problem.

From the tear in space, a group of undeads was quick to emerge, Loimos tasked them with investigating and dissecting this place, with some luck, they would be able to figure something out.

As for the pure undead and his followers, they left the underground and shack entirely, instead heading for a completely different place, this time, Loimos was the one leading the way.

They passed by the home where Milo and Helena had been living with their children, the house had been left partly destroyed from the fight, and now laid utterly empty, desolate even.

An empty house that used to house a family with many children, this somewhat reminded Maliah of how it used to be back in the day, with the only difference that the house had not been destroyed in the least before being left desolate, the inside had merely been painted red and decorated with various things that were not supposed to be by themselves.

Nowadays, the entire area where that house used to be had been turned into a tower for undead mages to learn spells in, it was certainly a vast improvement.

The group did not linger near that house, they instead moved further away, into an area that seemed to lack anything of interest.

"This is where Arzt died" he simply stated, causing the sun ancestor to frown, it did not take a genius to understand what Loimos was planning on doing.

The pure undead exerted his influence with utmost precision, seizing the scattered bits that were what had been left of the old carver.

Naturally, the easiest way to find out where the escapees had escaped to, and how to get to them, was to ask the mastermind behind the entire plan, those who died, no matter what happened to them, could theoretically be brought back as undeads.

There were only two exceptions, being the pure living, who simply could not be truly slain, and thus, could not technically experience true death in the first place, and the golden hero.

Actually, there were a few more exceptions than that, such as The Defiler Of The Holy, he had passed near Viridis, but even as the area was taken over and the since long dead rose back, he himself never appeared.

And of course, there were the various creatures that had been defeated by the golden one, whether they could not be brought back because they had fallen to gold, or if their essence had been taken back to where they had come from, was uncertain.

Solzmimi watched, expecting Arzt to manifest a rotten carcass any second from now, but nothing happened, Loimos just stood there without doing anything after a while.

"He can not be brought back" he simply stated without elaboration, it truly seemed like the old carver had thought about every possibility, it was uncertain what he had done exactly, but he had ensured that he could not be made to rise again as an undead, thus preventing any chances of him saying a word about anything.

It was a shame, Arzt had been powerful and a master of two rare ways of power, his addition to the ranks of the empire would have been of tremendous value, and his knowledge could have been passed on to many more carvers and name givers, as it stood, the road to mastering these two new ways of power would take a little while.

As the four of them simply stood in place without saying anything, all of them noticed something approaching.

Solzmimi through emerald light, One and Loimos through their basic sense of life force as undeads, and Maliah through sheer instinct.

A small figure soared through the air toward the skeleton, only to be instantly stopped as the assassin disappeared from where she stood, grabbing the attack mid-air and holding them by their ankle.

"Well, well, well… What do we have here? Why don't you tell me about yourself while I pull out your intestines?"

"May I ask that we settle this issue peacefully?" Solzmimi turned into light and appeared next to The Death Dealer "Please?"

Maliah turned to Loimos for his opinion…
