According to Ash's instructions, the Devileon used Dig, burrowing into the ground and vanishing from sight, while Abra relied on Teleport to move anywhere instantly.

Now that the Devileon is hidden underground, there's no way to pinpoint its location. Sabrina frowned slightly; Ghost-type Pokémon are far trickier to handle than Psychic-types.

Teleport cannot be sustained for long durations. Theoretically, Abra remains within the arena, but Dig is different—it allows the user to remain underground for extended periods.

At this moment, the battle took on an unusual tone. The two trainers stood silently on either side of the battlefield, yet no Pokémon could be seen in the arena.

"Very clever—this way, Devileon can stay hidden until Abra reappears at the surface!" Brock observed.

Teleport undoubtedly consumes more energy than Dig. The former requires a Pokémon to vanish from one location and materialize in another instantaneously.

"But Sabrina has another advantage. If she uses telepathy, she can communicate commands directly to Abra's mind, which is far faster than issuing them verbally."

"As soon as Sabrina's eyes catch a movement, Abra can sense it and react instantly. How will Ash deal with that?" Brock added with a worried tone. Despite Ash's bond with his Pokémon, there's always a slight delay between a trainer's command and the Pokémon's execution.

However, Sabrina's telepathy could eliminate that delay entirely.

Whoosh!

Just as the crowd was deep in thought, Abra reappeared on the battlefield. Its Teleport couldn't be sustained indefinitely, and now it hovered slightly above the ground, glowing faintly with Psychic energy—a clear indication it was ready to defend against Dig attacks.

As long as there's any movement from underground, Abra's Psychic power would detect it instantly. It could then activate Teleport to dodge effortlessly.

As Brock mentioned, Sabrina's expression remained calm, but her sharp red eyes scanned the battlefield carefully.

"You can't hide from these four eyes!" At this moment, Sabrina's alternate persona, the young girl, spoke up. Though a projection of Sabrina herself, girl maintained constant communication with her.

Little girl's sharp gaze observed the entire battlefield, ready to detect any anomaly.

"Eyes can be deceived. Devileon, let them witness an attack they cannot see!" Ash called out with a confident smile.

"Invisible attack?" Misty and Brock echoed in unison, puzzled by Ash's cryptic strategy. Despite their familiarity with him, even they couldn't guess what he meant.

Sabrina's expression shifted ever so slightly. Psychic users possess heightened mental acuity, and Sabrina could sense that Ash wasn't bluffing.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, a sharp noise pierced the air. From seemingly nowhere, a black shadow streaked through the empty space, enveloped in a violet glow, and appeared directly behind Abra.

Boom!

The shadow collided with Abra, sending the Psychic-type flying forward uncontrollably. Sabrina's calm facade cracked as her eyes widened.

"This is…"

Misty and Brock were equally shocked. Normally, Dig users would emerge from underground, but this time, the Devileon had attacked from above. It left everyone baffled as to how it had exited the ground unnoticed.

"Devileon, use Shadow Ball!"

Before anyone could make sense of what had happened, Ash issued his next command. The Devileon ascended into the air, a sphere of dark purple energy forming in its mouth as it prepared the Shadow Ball.

Boom!

The Shadow Ball streaked toward Abra. Sabrina's eyes narrowed, and Abra's body glowed once again. Teleport activated, and Abra vanished just in time, causing the Shadow Ball to strike the ground harmlessly. A fiery explosion rippled across the battlefield, leaving a scorched patch where Abra had stood.

"Phantom Force!"

Ash remained calm, seizing the moment as Abra's Teleport window ended. With perfect timing, his Devileon executed Phantom Force, ready to launch another unexpected assault.

The Devileon's ability to unexpectedly leave the ground and launch a surprise attack was now becoming clearer. The timing of Abra's Teleport disappearance had been uncertain before, but after this exchange, it was easier to deduce its pattern.

Whoosh!

As Abra disappeared once more, the Devileon glowed with a purple light and vanished as well. Sabrina, Brock, Misty, and the others quickly pieced together how the Devileon had escaped underground unnoticed.

"Phantom Force?" Misty asked, unfamiliar with the move. She was surprised as the Devileon vanished from sight.

"This is one of the Ghost-type's signature moves," Brock explained, admiration in his voice. "It allows the user to disappear entirely, hiding itself before launching a powerful attack. That's how it left the ground earlier!"

The realization brought clarity to the surprising sequence of events: Phantom Force had allowed the Devileon to avoid detection and launch its first strike.

Whoosh!

As Abra used Teleport to evade the Shadow Ball, the Devileon reappeared instantly and rushed toward Abra. This time, however, Sabrina seemed ready.

"Don't think you can catch me off guard!" Sabrina's voice rang out, calm but commanding, as her eyes glowed with an intense psychic energy.

Abra, which had been hovering silently with its eyes closed, suddenly opened them, releasing a crimson glow.

"Abra!!"

Abra let out a cry, and its entire body was enveloped in a radiant light—different from the shimmering aura of Teleport. The glow grew brighter, its intensity blinding, and Abra's body began to change. It expanded, its features growing more defined, and when its feet touched the ground, it had transformed into something new.

"Abra evolved!" Brock exclaimed as the transformation concluded.

"*Reflect!*" Sabrina ordered sharply.

From within the light, the now-larger figure raised its hand, summoning a shimmering, glass-like shield that radiated with pink and purple hues. The barrier solidified just as the Devileon charged forward.

Boom!

The Devileon collided with the shield, the impact sending shockwaves through the arena. The protective barrier held firm, forcing the attacker back slightly.

As the light faded, the figure behind the shield was revealed. Standing taller and wielding a spoon in one hand, it stepped forward confidently, its psychic energy visible in the air around it. The newly evolved Pokémon glowed faintly as it maintained the shield.

"This is… Kadabra?!" Misty and Brock exclaimed in unison, stunned by the sudden evolution. The Pokémon standing before them was no longer Abra but its evolved form, Kadabra.

With its increased strength and sharpened abilities, Kadabra radiated an aura of power and control, ready to take the battle to the next level.
