Pokémon Adventures: GAMER PATH

Chapter 162: Hex Nut Pokémon

~Azure S. POV~

[Johto Region, Next Day, Cruise – Johto Sea]

Taking a cruise to Olivine City, I booked a cruise and casually headed back to the city as I allowed my Pokémon and me to rest. I could've gone for another scenic route, but… I had my fill of the sea, thank you very much.

Lounging around on the bench, I changed the rotation of my lineup. Except for Pikachu, Eevee, and Celebi, for obvious reasons.

My current rotation consisted of Houndoom, Quagsire, Ampharos, Mismagius, Togepi, and Skarmory. I decided to take it easy while my other guys trained with the crew in Kanto, being guided and provided the best training I could afford.

Lying down on my seat, observing my Pokémon, they enjoyed their break. Houndoom was next to me, lying down, napping. Quagsire and Togepi both played at the pool nearby, chilling along with Eevee.

Pikachu and Ampharos were training their electrical attacks while my partner gave the Light Pokémon pointers on where to improve their electric attacks. Skarmory was enjoying flying with the other Flying-type Pokémon trainers here.

And Mismagius? She's off and about trolling any poor security guard or pedestrian who is unfortunate enough to be in her path.

She's certainly enjoying her new abilities to the fullest, learning chants with my Arc Phone to improve herself… and not learn how to curse others. Yeah improvement…

Sighing out loud, the only one missing would be Celebi, as I requested her on an important task. And speaking of important tasks…

*Shiii*

Celebi emerged from its time ripple as it carried a box. A box that I requested, as it was handed over to me, rubbing its head happily, said, "Good work. You've done a good deed, Celebi! I'll be sure to give you extra Poke Blocks if you can help me out further, okay?"

Celebi puffed her chest out as it declared, "Bei!"

Rubbing her head, I held the box I asked Celebi to search for in the crack of time. Usually, I wouldn't ask much from Celebi, but in this case, though, I made an exception as I couldn't find it in the Kanto Region.

The box I held in my hand is the Mystery Box. This Pokémon in question wasn't seen in the Pokémon Adventure Series, as I read Celebi's memories, as this Mythical Pokémon hasn't been found and wouldn't be in the future…

[Item: Mystery Box

Rarity Item: SSS+

Type: Key Item

Description: A mysterious old box. Opening it causes a certain Pokémon to appear for a limited time. Opening the box will spawn the Mythical Pokémon Meltans.]

*Sheeee*

When I held the box, it began to open on its own as I got the materials ready. Before leaving Cianwood City, I bought a bunch of metals and steel to prepare to feed these little guys as the Mystery Box opened.

Popping out from the box was a small group of Meltans. Meltan is a small Pokémon with a silvery body of liquid metal. Its head is hard and resembles a golden hexagonal nut, with a small black sphere floating inside. This sphere serves as its eye. It has a red tail that resembles an electrical wire with two tiny protrusions at the end.

Coming out, I brought out Skarmory's feathers that it sheds. I smiled as the Meltans reacted to its feathers as I said calmly, "Welcome to the world, Meltan. Here, have some of this. I can certainly guarantee it's good for you guys."

One of the Meltans, the leader, looked at me innocently, cried, "Mel? Meltan!"

*Glop*

The leader took a bite as it cheered happily, devouring it. This caused its followers in its group to chow down on Skarmory's feathers, beginning to eat as if they hadn't eaten any good metals for a long time.

Of course, this brought the attention of my other Pokémon, except Skarmory, as they saw the new Pokémon that came out from the box. They all looked curiously at them as I checked my Arc Phone for their bio.

[Meltan the Hex Nut Pokémon. Meltan's liquid body is made of gallium, and it can cry gallium tears. Its arms can stretch to be longer or shorter. Meltan is one of the smallest Pokémon, tied with Alolan Diglett and Klefki as the shortest Steel-type Pokémon.

Meltan's body can corrode various metals, which it feeds on by absorbing them. The absorbed metals are circulated within Meltan's body to generate electricity, which it uses as an energy source. Meltan can also use this electricity to attack by firing it from its eye.

According to Professor Willow, Meltan has been described in ancient texts in the same place where the Mystery Box was found. The Mystery Box was created by Melmetal's followers to store away the Meltan created after its death, until one day, they could create a new Melmetal.

At the end of a Melmetal's life span, it'll rust and fall apart; however, its shards will eventually be reborn as Meltan. It is known to live in groups until the day comes when one strong Meltan absorbs the rest of the group to evolve.

The hexagonal nut on Meltan's body can be removed. It has also been seen working in packs. Meltan can spin its head, creating a sound that calls others of its kind. It's head-spinning can also be used as a sign of affection. It can be tamed if fed metal-like treats. Meltan is shown multiplying in numbers over time.]

Blinking a bit surprised there was this much info, I smiled as the Meltan's began eating the Skarmory Feathers contentedly. It was when I made my offer to the leader, grabbing its attention, looking at its one eye, "Hey Meltan. Do you want to be my Pokémon? If you do, I can help you guys evolve into Melmetal again and provide some snacks. So…?"

Revealing an Ultra Ball in my hand, Meltan gazed at me intently. But when I mentioned the part of free food, like snacks, it didn't bother as it tapped the Ultra Ball gleefully, "Mel! Meltan! (Yes! We'll follow you, gracious savior! Now hand over the snacks!)"

Tapping its screw hex bolt head, it was sucked into the Poke Ball without resistance. No shaking or anything, as it was perfectly caught.

*BON*

I blinked momentarily, surprised by this little guy's willingness. I but I chuckled as I brought him back, handing them a large piece of Steelix's shredded metal when it uses Automize to cut some weight, much to their glee, enjoying good steel food.

My Pokémon just stared blinking curiously, seeing the Meltan eat happily. I checked my Arc Phone to see Meltan's level, the leader, I mean, seeing what I must work with here.

|Name: Meltan (Hex Nut Pokémon)

|Type: Steel

|Level: 20

|Gender: Genderless

|Held Item: None

|Ability: Magnet Pull

|Nature: Adamant

|Moves: Thunder Shock, Harden, Tail Whip, Thunder Wave, Acid Armor, Flash Cannon (EM) (10 Moves left to learn)

Smiling at this, I see that the Meltan's followers listened to my Meltan's lead, following me as their leader. It was at this moment that my Pokémon greeted the newcomer as I took a photo of them together.

Immediately afterward, I sent the image to Prof. Oak and Daisy. Afterward, given a few minutes, I called them to a video group as I chuckled at their stunned expressions, "So… do you guys have any idea of who that Pokémon is?"

Prof. Oak was the first to speak up in a stunned tone, seeing his background being in the lab, as he stated in a stunned tone, "Azure, where did you find this Pokémon! It's nowhere in our database!"

Hearing this, I replied casually, directing them in the right direction of this little guy, "Are you sure? I've read in some old texts in your lab something about this Pokémon. From what I recall, they're called Meltan, the Hex Nut Pokémon, supposedly a Mythical Pokémon, too, considering they spawned from this Mystery Box."

Revealing the Mystery Box, both Daisy and Prof. Oak's eyes widened. They frantically began looking at the lab till Daisy found it as she announced, stunned, "There! Holy Tauros! It is Meltan, as said in ancient texts! How did you find such a rare, undiscovered Pokémon, Azure!"

Prof. Oak gave me the stink eye as he saw Celebi nearby, as he bluntly answered with a raised eyebrow, "I can certainly think of an answer. It wouldn't happen to be because of the Mythical Pokémon Celebi, wouldn't young man? I've heard the news from Kurt."

Grinning cheekily, I replied childishly, "Guilty as charged!"

I had no excuse to deny it. I already bet that Prof. Oak was researching what Pokémon I had at the time when we crossed paths.

Prof. Oak merely grumbled as I played around with them. But they did urge me to take them to Kanto when I had the chance, or transfer them to the PC.

In which case, I would only after arriving in Olivine City. As I'm currently taking a cruise, it would take me a few days, and I have plenty of time before departing, but I can't consistently feed them on the road.

And their little followers would be an issue… my Pokémon are making sure they don't wander off too much, or go overboard. Being a Pokémon Trainer sure is tough, and yet even more fun at the same time.

I wonder if knowing the future is what made this boring. Is it boring for what's it to come…

No. There's one thing you can't know just by predicting… It's how the future feels!

Smiling at this, it must be why Celebi time-travels a lot. It probably wants to know how the future feels. I suppose, for now, I'll enjoy just how much the future feels, as I can see the Meltan are getting a bit rowdy.

~Soul S. POV~

[Johto Region, Meanwhile, Goldenrod City]

*Tmp*

*Tmp*

Casually taking my steps out of the Goldenrod City Gym, I held the Plain Badge in my hand before placing it in my Badge Case. From what Big Sis Green said that they contain mysterious power, increasing the moves of my Pokémon of that certain type.

I have 4 Badges to my name, counting the Plain Badge. It took a week, but I've managed to change my team with different rotations, capturing strong Pokémon.

With their help, Magneton, Crobat, Alakazam, Houndoom, Nidoking, and Gengar, it was a cinch beating Whitney. I did have help from Green, though, helping me with the trade evolution.

Smiling happily, I soon brought my latest addition to my team with a light smile. Green managed to find this Pokémon as a Pokémon Egg in Victory Road and decided I should raise it myself.

It was annoying at first, but eventually, I've managed to hatch it thanks to that buffon Ethan Gold. But it was thanks to him that I now have a Shiny Larvitar from my sis.

Although the idiotic expression, seeing how Jasmine straight up pities the guy saying that her Light Pokémon was healed, made my day. From what I learned from Green through Prof. Oak, he was a Dex Holder like me, named the Hatcher.

He can draw out the largest potential of a baby Pokémon. Honestly, I'd believe it was from when he awakened my Larvitar Egg, it had the perfect stats it could have, along with a decent nature, along with powerful Inherited Moves like Earthquake and Dark Pulse.

If that was a Breeder, he could've created a literal powerhouse team from scratch. I sighed at this as I focused my training, and with Green's help, managed to have my Pokémon be transferred to Prof. Oak to keep safe, changing the rotations of my team.

I still need 4 more Gym Badges left before I meet up with Lance again. I'd hate to admit it, but these Gym Challenges had me reflect on what I needed, which led me to allow myself to capture more Pokémon to combat them for different situations.

Clenching my fist, I heard Big Sis Green is competing this year Indigo League. Even with the Masked Man gone… I'll still show the world who I am, and by entering the big stage, I'm hoping my own family will recognize me when I make my return.

Till then, when I meet my parents… I'll challenge all who come before me and…

… crush them with overwhelming power.
