Pokémon Adventures: GAMER PATH

Chapter 196: Surprise Visit [Bonus]

~Azure S. POV~

[Kanto Region, Nighttime, Pallet Town – Oak's Lab]

After winning the Tenth Pokémon League Tournament, I was eventually invited by Prof. Oak to have a celebratory party for my victory. The Dex Holders Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, Silver, Gold, and Crystal were invited to celebrate.

Green, Yellow, and Crystal were discussing some topics, likely related to girls or Pokémon. Possibly both, in my opinion.

Then, in one corner of the room, Blue and Silver were discussing with each other about the topic of raising a Pokémon level through harsh training conditions. I've also noticed that Silver had around a Shiny Larvitar that made me, not gonna lie, envious.

I took his Shiny Gyarados in this timeline, and he got a Shiny Larvitar. I'm starting to feel that Silver got the protagonist's luck on his side.

But even so, Red and Gold are discussing with each other as Gold offered to be his student, training under him, so that he can beat me. Red was accepted since he was officially a Gym Leader at Viridian City and possibly needed a few Gym Trainers in mind.

Although I doubt that one, but at the very least, his busy with his life. As for me, though, I had my Pokémon chill after the exhausting battle they endured as I sat casually on a couch, leaning my back against the seat.

Observing Eevee as I played around with it using a toy as she tries to hop up, getting it only for it to be out of reach. And Pikachu was enjoying apple slices dipped in Ketchup, earning his well-earned meal.

Celebi, meanwhile, enjoyed the party, playing around with my Togepi, Rockruff, Magby, and Elekid in childish humor. Marshadow stayed in my shadow but occasionally let itself out, to join in, since his shy around newcomers.

Makes sense considering its cowardly nature at first appearance. I've gotta work on that, along with Chansey building up courage.

Despite Chansey being in its second-stage evolution line, she's slowly getting used to being around humans, as she was under the care of a Team Rocket Grunt for a while. She needed more time to adjust as she's used to me, but slowly and surely, I'll get her to evolve.

However, other than a few Pokémon problems, I have a new one that appeared after I bluntly showed off Z-Moves and Mega Evolution. For starters, Prof. Kukui and Samson Oak informed me of how I obtained the multiple Z-Crystals for starters.

I decided to be blunt and said I caught their Island Guardian Tapu Koko and asked for all the known type Z-Crystals and specific Z-Crystals for certain Pokémon. Their shocked expressions were funny, but after they realized that I was battling a Legendary Pokémon back-to-back, they understood.

But I did mention I released it back to the wild, as even I know the damage I would cause by taking it out of the Alola Region. They sighed a breath of relief when I said that, as I would no doubt cause a riot when I got back to Alola.

After that, they showed interest in what Z-Moves for a specific kind of Pokémon I have and can use for their research. I promised to send them video footage since I showed off Eevee's Z-Move later.

But then afterward, my contacts involving Steven and Geeta came up. I could only sigh helplessly this shaking my head.

No doubt those two would want to talk about Mega Evolution. Just as I was contemplating my life choices, Prof. Oak chuckled as he took a seat next to me. He says excitedly, "Haha! I see that fame and fortune are not your strong suit, Azure! Especially with revealing Mega Evolution."

I chuckled dryly at his words as I stopped playing with Eevee. She barked happily, finally getting the toy, as I replied helplessly, "Yeah… I've already dealt with being a celebrity once, thank you very much… but I doubt I'll get my peace now. What a drag…"

Prof. Oak chuckled as everyone was enjoying themselves. Then he brought up a topic I couldn't miss as he said calmly, "True, but while we're on the topic of Mega Evolution and your status, the Pokémon Association is suggesting you take the mantle of being the Kanto League's Champion with the Elite Four. You thinking of taking it up?"

I shook my head as I said directly, "Hard pass."

No way I'm staying the Champion of Kanto, as there would be obligations I must fulfill along with following the Pokémon Association demands. I mentally frown at the mere thought of them, to be honest.

Not only that, but it also restricts my freedom in the process. Prof. Oak merely chuckled at my response, helplessly shaking his head as he said calmly, "Makes sense. You aren't the type of man to wait idly by. But I've been in contact with Prof. Sycamore, wanting your help in Mega Evolution research."

Figures, as much as he would try to contact me through Oak. Prof. Sycamore specializes in both Evolution, Mega Evolution, and Change.

I've read his hypothesis on Mega Evolution before, wondering why it wasn't present in the past timeline of events of the Pokémon Adventures Series. I later found out currently is that he was currently researching the legend behind Charizard's new form depicted in ancient Kalos times that supported his theory.

At the time, Mega Evolution wasn't exactly well-known. Only certain groups of People knew the secret of Mega Evolution in the Pokémon Adventure Series.

The two are Gurkinn, the Mega Evolution Guru, and a descendant of the Draconid People. And the other is the Draconid People themselves.

Mentally laughing at this predicament, the idea of Mega Evolution being a kept secret is about to break, and I'm the one who broke it. There would be consequences, no doubt, that's certain, but wouldn't it be just a bit more… interesting?

But returning to the topic at hand, I looked at Prof. Oak as I happily said, "If Prof. Sycamore is asking I can assist with which Pokémon I have that can Mega Evolve. I even have some Mega Stones that some Pokémon can evolve into. Here, let me send you the data of the Pokémon I have Mega Evolved, Prof. Oak."

Opening my Arc Phone, I went to the files app as Prof. Oak opened his Rotom Phone with an eager expression. Passing the file and data over to him, Prof. Oak smiled excitedly as he mumbled, "Oh, these new Mega Forms…! So much research material to do and discuss with the Pokémon Scientific Community! Although…"

Prof. Oak shared his concerns with me about some Mega Evolution Pokémon that could potentially harm them as he read the contents of the Pokémon in question. Those being Scizor, Gengar, and Houndoom, just to name a few.

I've also shared my concerns as well as these Mega Forms could be harmful and need more research. But I believe highly skilled Trainers can find a means around that predicament.

But moving on from that, though the Kanto Trio came up to me as I asked curiously, "So… you guys want something from me?"

Red bashfully rubs the back of his head as he asks curiously, "Uh… yeah? We were kind of hoping you would share some info about Mega Evolution when you showed Mega Charizard in our battle?"

Green nodded as the Johto Dex Holders were interested as Silver added curiously, "Yeah. The Kanto Starter Pokémon all have Mega Evolutions. Charizard X is the one I used, as I haven't found the Mega Stone for Charizard Y yet."

They're eyes blinked curiously, but they grinned lightly, hearing the news. Each of them has a Starter Pokémon that can potentially Mega Evolve once they have the corresponding Mega Stone and Key Stone.

That certainly excited them, but I made sure to keep some of the Mega Evolution Pokémon spread to a minimum for now, as I don't have all the Pokémon needed for it. And Prof. Oak will have the same issues trying to research the subject because it requires a strong bond for a Pokémon to Mega Evolve without issue.

The only reason I can skim or skip the process is thanks to my Viridian Force. Having that as a guide, knowing their life force and intent, helped make the process possible.

Although for now though everyone began to enjoy the party, the topics of which Pokémon they have that could Mega Evolve excited them. And with Prof. Oak and possibly Sycamore, it would be shared with everyone, as it would be a race to see which Pokémon Mega Evolve could or could not.

And frankly, I would like to see how this world reacts to it. For now, though, I simply enjoyed the party with everyone as I opened my Arc Phone, making plans for me to leave for the Sinnoh Region, fulfilling my promise to Volkner and Flint.

Originally, I had planned to visit Hisui, but with the state of Sunnyshore City in Sinnoh plagued by criminal gangs and Pokémon Poachers. I couldn't help but think… of such a golden opportunity of snagging their loot.

Rare Pokémon and items. A WHOLE city infested with loot just waiting to be snatched by someone strong like me?

Not only that there a benefit in helping Volkner and Flint's hometown. It could be helpful to have some favors from a future stronger Gym Leader in Sinnoh, and a potential Elite Four Member.

Smiling at this, though I returned to the parties. Seeing Silver, I remembered he doesn't have a Ground-type Pokémon on his team.

Pondering on this, I went toward him as I asked curiously, getting his attention, "Say, Silver? Do you happen to need a Ground-type Pokémon by chance?"

Silver blinked once he heard my request. With a raised eyebrow, he asked curiously, "… Yes, I do. I was planning on finding one that suited my taste. But it had to be strong first, and if possible, intelligent."

Pondering this, I did have my Rhydon I caught in Johto. And from what I understood, he was getting a bit antsy, unable to wait.

This could be troublesome for me down the line, as I don't plan to use it till Sinnoh. But that won't be for a while, and even then, it was starting to get impatient…

I asked Silver a question that got his attention in a curious voice with my arms crossed, "If that's the case… I think I have a Pokémon in mind that suits your needs. With the Book I gave you and your requirements, I think you two will do just fine."

Explaining a bit more with Silver, he looked surprised but then asked confused, "… I won't mind, but… can I ask why? You don't sound like the type to give away your Pokémon."

Nodding my head, I wholeheartedly agree as I explain myself casually, getting Silver's attention in my serious voice, "Yeah, usually. But the Rhydon I caught from Johto is getting a bit antsy, unable to wait as I had planned to use him in Sinnoh, but I don't have any plans for that region yet, which leaves me with my current dilemma."

Hearing my words, Silver considered my offer as I also added, "And he won't follow just any Trainer's orders, but those that can defeat it in battle. Plus, you'll need this for its evolution, for you know."

Handing Silver the [Protector] item, his eyes shot open. Then, contemplating the offer, his eyes narrowed, accepting my deal as I smiled happily at this.

Originally, I had planned to use Rhydon for my Sinnoh Team, but how antsy he is made it hard for me to command. Sure, he respected my strength, but the issue is it's still new and needed my attention to which I couldn't afford during my travel to Johto.

Thus, I decided to hand him over to Silver, who'll need the means to master the book I handed him. Besides, he'll need a bit more firepower in the future and possible safety assurance, easing my mind.

I mean, it's not like trouble is going to come knocking, right?

[Kanto Region, Next Day, Pallet Town – Oak's Lab]

I stand corrected. Oh, so very correct.

Originally, it was going to be a fine day to relax and pack up some things before heading to Sinnoh to deal with the criminals there. But currently I'm face-to-face with Korrina and Gurkinn as I'm face to face with them.

Currently, the Dex Holders are off on their own, as I'm left to deal with this. Prof. Oak and Daisy have gone off to the Pokémon Scientific Community to discuss the details of Mega Evolution, and I'm left in charge of the Lab till they return.

Which means I'm left to deal with these two people till they return. Taking the moment to compose myself, I asked curiously with a raised eyebrow, "So… to whom am I speaking? If you're looking for Prof. Oak, then I'm afraid he isn't here at present."

Korrina looked at me, annoyed as she bluntly stated, "You! Where did you learn how to perform Mega Evolution!!"

Raising an eyebrow, I bluntly said, "Self-taught."

She growled at my answer as she was about to rant. But her grandfather Gurkinn stopped her as he said calmly, "Stop it, Korrina! It's rude to just ask that of the young man! I'm sorry for my granddaughter's rash words."

Korrina looked shocked by her own family shutting her up. Rubbing the back of my head, Pikachu and Eevee came around to see as I replied nonchalantly, "No worries, old timer. Probably just that time of the month for her, you get what I'm saying?"

Wiggling my eyebrows, Korrina looked at me, aghast as she yelled, "HELL NO!"

Gurkinn laughed out loud, hearing my reply as he asked bluntly, "Bwahaha! That's a good one! But onto the real reason, can you give this young man a taste of your bond with your Pokémon's strength with Mega Evolution? I wish to perform your succession properly if you don't mind?"

I pondered a bit as I crossed my arms. I nodded slyly, grinning as I said, "Sure. But not here, as people will see. But I don't do this for free, ya know?"

Gurkinn nodded as he revealed a Mega Stone that made me freeze as he said knowingly, "I understand. I figured you'll want this… if you win against me. I've heard you've had this Pokémon be your main team in the past, surely you'll need it, no?"

Noticing a particular stone in Gurkinn's hand, I used [Observe] on the item. It made me freeze, seeing what Mega Stone it was, making me question my knowledge.

[Item: Dragoniteite

Rarity Item: S

Type: Held Item

Description: It is an item to be held by a Dragonite. This item helps the Dragonite species to Mega Evolve with the assistance of a Trainer holding the Key Stone.]

A Mega Stone for Dragonite. This old man got my attention now.
