Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom

Chapter 363: Chapter 362: At a Disadvantage

Vexor's Pokémon began moving quickly.

In particular, the two Pokémon that had ingested pills were pushing themselves to the limit, showing no intention of defending.

Ursaring and Arbok teamed up, yet they were continuously forced to retreat by Pinsir.

Both Pokémon excelled in strength, but they couldn't compete with Pinsir's explosive power.

Butterfree flapped its wings, scattering tiny scales into the air and directing them toward Cain's group of Pokémon with the aid of the generated wind.

Beedrill pushed its speed to the maximum, swiftly closing in on Slowpoke with stingers charged with venomous energy. If it landed a single hit, the chances of poisoning Slowpoke were high, and with Beedrill's Sniper ability, a critical hit would be devastating.

Scyther also used Agility, engaging in a frantic battle with Sneasel. Both Pokémon, known for their speed, clashed in an intense duel.

Although Sneasel had better natural abilities than Scyther, the latter's higher level made the fight closely contested.

"Haunter, use Skill Swap on Beedrill—first weaken it! Then, use Fire Punch."

"Slowpoke, use Protect and then unleash your best Psyshock to push it back."

"Murkrow, Wing Attack! Help Sneasel with that Scyther first."

Beedrill's extreme speed gave Slowpoke no chance to evade, forcing it to rely on Protect to withstand the attack.

Nearby, Haunter quickly used Skill Swap, replacing its Levitate ability with Beedrill's Sniper.

Then, with one of its ghostly hands, Haunter gathered fire energy and launched a Fire Punch at Beedrill.

"Beedrill, retreat!"

"Pinsir, attack with everything! Use X-Scissor and Brick Break. Let's take one down first."

"Butterfree, use Confusion to assist Beedrill's retreat."

"Scyther, Fury Cutter."

"Ariados, use Spider Web, Swords Dance, and then hit with Megahorn. Eliminate one first!"

Vexor gave precise orders to his six Pokémon. However, facing the combined forces of two people left him at a disadvantage, as Alec only needed to occupy one of his Pokémon, forcing Vexor to keep one Pokémon near him for protection.

Otherwise, Vexor was certain Cain wouldn't hesitate to eliminate him first and then pick off his Pokémon one by one.

"How interesting. Your skill has exceeded my expectations. Also, why hasn't the Tropius beneath you attacked yet?" Vexor teased Cain without showing any signs of defensiveness.

"Heh, dealing with you doesn't require Tropius to get involved," Cain replied with a cold smile.

"I think your Tropius can't attack, right? Though it looks impressive, I don't see any fighting spirit in its eyes. You're just using it as a decoy, aren't you?" Vexor seemed to see through Cain's plan.

As long as Tropius was present, it represented a constant threat, forcing Vexor to reserve some energy in case it attacked suddenly. However, after observing it for some time, Vexor noticed Tropius's lazy demeanor.

"If that's what you think, then come and test it," Cain replied calmly, neither confirming nor denying.

Vexor gave a sinister grin. "Don't let me catch you!"

The battle between the Pokémon raged on.

Beedrill dodged both Slowpoke's Psyshock and Haunter's Fire Punch. Although it had lost the Sniper ability, its speed was enhanced by Levitate, and with Butterfree's support, it easily evaded their combined attacks.

"Then, come at us!" Vexor pulled out three more pills from his pocket and tossed them to Beedrill, Butterfree, and Scyther.

The three already powerful Pokémon experienced a significant surge in strength.

Cain's expression turned serious.

"Slowpoke, Flamethrower! Hit them all!"

"Murkrow, use Gust to amplify Slowpoke's fire."

"Haunter, Shadow Ball—aim for Butterfree!"

"Miltank, Heal Bell."

"Sneasel, Metal Claw!"

In an instant, the three Pokémon that had ingested pills launched a ferocious offensive, showing no intention of retreating. Scyther, wielding its scythes, faced Sneasel's metal claws directly, gaining the upper hand due to its superior strength.

"Golduck, Water Gun! Show that Slowpoke how Water-types should behave and stop playing with fire."

"Beedrill, close in and use Giga Drain on Slowpoke!"

"Butterfree, use Confusion on Haunter—show it the true power of Psychic attacks!"

Before Slowpoke's flames could reach Vexor's Pokémon, Golduck's Water Gun extinguished them instantly, even with the Gust from Murkrow.

Beedrill, its speed enhanced, quickly appeared before Slowpoke. This time, without Protect, Beedrill's Giga Drain landed successfully.

The Grass-type attack dealt double damage to Slowpoke.

Butterfree's Confusion also directly struck Haunter. While Haunter's Shadow Ball hit Butterfree, Psychic-type attacks inflicted double damage on Haunter, whereas Shadow Ball dealt normal damage to Butterfree.

Of course, Haunter's attack was of its same type, while Butterfree's was not, reducing its power.

However, Butterfree, highly trained by Vexor, showcased exceptional talent in using Psychic moves, inflicting significant damage on Haunter.

Cain frowned deeply. He had anticipated Vexor having enhancement pills but didn't expect him to have so many, enough to power up all his Pokémon.

For now, Ursaring and Arbok were clearly unable to withstand Pinsir's attacks.

The situation was delicately balanced—once one Pokémon fell, the entire equilibrium would break.

What worried Cain the most was Alec. Though his four Pokémon were holding off a single Ariados, with its pill-enhanced strength, Swords Dance boost, and Sniper ability, one mistake could cost Alec one of his Pokémon.

Moreover, three of those Pokémon had been recently captured, so their coordination in battle was still lacking, forcing them into a purely defensive stance against Ariados.

Vexor grinned with satisfaction. With just four Pokémon, he had managed to pressure Cain's six, despite Ursaring and Arbok being weaker, and three of Cain's Pokémon still inactive.

But for Vexor, once he defeated those currently in battle, Cain would be finished. The rest were merely for show.

Most importantly, Cain thought he was going all out, right?

Vexor hadn't yet played his trump card!

For now, though, Cain was already at a disadvantage!
