Pokemon: Legends of Kanto

Chapter 6: Chapter 6: The Battle for the Rainbow Badge!

Arrival in Celadon City

After an intense victory in Vermilion City, Alex and Daniel made their way toward Celadon City. Unlike the previous towns, Celadon was a vast metropolis filled with bright lights, towering buildings, and the unmistakable scent of flowers from its famous Celadon Garden.

"You know," Daniel smirked as they walked through the city, "Celadon is famous for its Game Corner and one of the strongest Gym Leaders in Kanto—Erika."

Alex crossed his arms. "Grass-type specialist, right? Shouldn't be too hard with Charmeleon."

Daniel chuckled. "Just don't underestimate her. She's known for putting challengers to sleep before they even realize what happened."

As they neared the Celadon Gym, Alex noticed another familiar figure waiting outside.

It was Kenji Fujiwara, the son of Erika and one of their rising rivals. Kenji had sleek, dark green hair and an elegant yet serious aura.

He smirked when he saw Alex. "Ketchum. Took you long enough to get here."

Alex smirked. "You waiting for me or something?"

Kenji flipped his hair back. "I wanted to see if you were worthy enough to battle my mother. Let's see if you can keep up."

Daniel sighed. "Another rival, huh?"

Kenji grinned. "You should consider it an honor. Now, let's have a one-on-one battle before you face the Gym."

Alex nodded. "Fine by me. Let's go."

Rival Battle: Alex vs. Kenji

Kenji sent out Leafeon, a Pokémon Alex had never faced before.

Alex countered with Charmeleon.

Kenji smirked. "Leafeon, Quick Attack!"

Leafeon vanished in a blur of speed, appearing behind Charmeleon before landing a precise strike.

Alex frowned. "That's fast. But not fast enough. Flamethrower!"

Charmeleon inhaled deeply before releasing a powerful blast of fire.

Kenji's eyes narrowed. "Leafeon, Leaf Blade!"

Leafeon's tail glowed green as it slashed through the flames, narrowly avoiding the attack.

Alex smirked. "Not bad, but let's turn up the heat. Fire Fang!"

Charmeleon dashed forward, its teeth engulfed in flames, and bit down on Leafeon, dealing massive damage.

Kenji gritted his teeth. "Leafeon, recover with Synthesis!"

Leafeon absorbed sunlight, healing itself.

Alex narrowed his eyes. "We'll end this now! Flame Charge!"

Charmeleon surrounded itself in fire, charging at Leafeon at high speed.

Kenji's eyes widened. "Leafeon, dodge—"

BOOM!

Leafeon was sent flying, crashing into the ground.

The referee raised his hand. "Leafeon is unable to battle. Alex is the winner!"

Kenji recalled Leafeon, nodding. "Impressive. Maybe you are ready for my mother."

Alex smirked. "We'll find out soon."

Entering the Celadon Gym

The Celadon Gym was like a massive greenhouse, filled with exotic plants, vines, and a soft, floral aroma in the air.

At the center stood Erika, a calm and graceful woman dressed in a traditional kimono.

She bowed slightly. "Welcome, challenger. I have heard much about you. I hope you are prepared for the power of nature."

Alex grinned. "I came here to win."

The referee stepped forward.

"This will be a three-on-three battle for the Rainbow Badge! The challenger may switch Pokémon; the Gym Leader may not. Begin!"

---

Battle Start!

Erika's First Pokémon: Tangela!

Erika sent out Tangela, the vine-covered Pokémon.

Alex sent out Riolu.

"Tangela, Sleep Powder!" Erika commanded.

Tangela released a cloud of spores, heading straight for Riolu.

Alex's eyes widened. "Dodge and use Force Palm!"

Riolu leaped over the spores and struck Tangela with a powerful blow, sending it rolling backward.

Erika nodded. "Not bad. But let's try this—Leech Seed!"

Tangela fired a seed at Riolu, which latched onto it, slowly draining its energy.

Alex narrowed his eyes. "We need to finish this quickly. Aura Sphere!"

Riolu charged up a glowing blue sphere and fired it at Tangela, landing a direct hit.

Tangela collapsed.

The referee raised his hand. "Tangela is unable to battle!"

Erika smiled. "You are quite skilled. But let's see how you handle my next Pokémon."

Second Battle: Vileplume vs. Charmeleon

Erika sent out Vileplume, a powerful Grass-Poison type.

Alex smirked and sent out Charmeleon.

Erika's eyes gleamed. "Vileplume, Stun Spore!"

Vileplume released yellow spores into the air.

Alex reacted quickly. "Charmeleon, Flamethrower!"

Charmeleon's flames burned through the spores, nullifying the effect.

Erika's expression remained calm. "Clever. Vileplume, Sludge Bomb!"

Vileplume launched poisonous sludge toward Charmeleon.

"Dodge and use Fire Fang!"

Charmeleon narrowly avoided the attack and bit down on Vileplume, dealing massive damage.

Vileplume collapsed.

The referee raised his hand. "Vileplume is unable to battle!"

Erika nodded. "Your Charmeleon is truly powerful. But let's see how you handle my strongest Pokémon."

---

Final Battle: Bellossom vs. Gyarados

Erika sent out Bellossom, her ace Pokémon.

Alex smirked. "Let's end this. Gyarados, go!"

The massive serpent Pokémon roared, shaking the entire Gym.

Erika remained calm. "Bellossom, Sunny Day!"

The sun intensified, powering up Bellossom.

Alex narrowed his eyes. "So she's setting up for something big…"

Erika smiled. "Bellossom, Solar Beam!"

Bellossom immediately fired a beam of energy, thanks to Sunny Day's boost.

Alex had no time to dodge. "Gyarados, Aqua Tail!"

Gyarados spun its tail, colliding with Solar Beam, countering the attack.

Erika's eyes widened slightly. "Impressive. But let's see if you can stop this—Sleep Powder!"

Alex reacted instantly. "Gyarados, Whirlwind!"

Gyarados flapped its massive tail, creating a gust of wind that blew away the spores.

Erika nodded. "You're a smart one. But how about this? Petal Dance!"

Bellossom spun gracefully, releasing a storm of sharp petals toward Gyarados.

Alex grinned. "Gyarados, Dragon Rage!"

Gyarados unleashed a fiery blue energy blast, cutting through the petals and hitting Bellossom head-on.

Bellossom staggered but remained standing.

Alex smirked. "Let's finish this! Hyper Beam!"

Gyarados's mouth glowed brightly before releasing a massive beam of destruction.

Bellossom had no chance.

BOOM!

Bellossom collapsed.

The referee raised his hand. "Bellossom is unable to battle! Alex Ketchum is the winner!"

The Gym fell silent.

Then, Erika smiled. "That was a magnificent battle." She walked over and handed him the Rainbow Badge.

"You have earned this."

Alex took the badge, grinning. "Four down. Time for Fuchsia City."

Kenji smirked from the sidelines. "You keep getting stronger, Ketchum. But I'll be waiting for our rematch."

Alex grinned. "Looking forward to it."
