Red had also arrived at the Pokémon House.

"Thanks to you, everything has returned to normal!" Mr. Fuji said gratefully. He looked at Cubone, who was now playfully acting cute in Reina's arms. "And Cubone has finally opened up to humans!"

"You flatter me," Red said modestly.

"If possible, I hope you can take this child, Cubone, on a journey!" Mr. Fuji pleaded. "Although this little one initially relied on me, I can feel that Cubone now relies more heavily on you!"

"Is that so? If it's willing to follow me, I'm also willing to take Cubone on a journey to witness the beauty of this world," Red said. Although he truly wanted to train the strong-willed Cubone, he didn't want to force it to leave. He wanted Cubone to choose for itself.

"I don't know if it will be useful to you, but I have something I want to give you."

Red followed Mr. Fuji to his bedroom. Mr. Fuji carefully took out a Poké Flute and an exquisite gift box from a bookshelf.

"What a generous gift, Mr. Fuji," Red thanked him. These two items were enough to greatly enhance Charizard's combat power.

"It seems you understand the use of these two items," Mr. Fuji said. "I obtained them by chance and felt they were extraordinary, so I hid them, intending to give them to a kind trainer."

Understanding that Mr. Fuji didn't want to bring up past events, Red didn't ask about the origin of the stones. He had already gotten a great deal, so why dwell on it? To master Mega Evolution as quickly as possible, Red asked Mr. Fuji about suitable training spots near Lavender Town.

"As for the kind of training ground you want, the hills behind Lavender Town can meet your conditions," Mr. Fuji suggested. "Plus, it's sparsely populated there, so you don't have to worry too much about hurting others. It's a good spot."

Most of Lavender Town's residents weren't professional trainers; they basically caught Pokémon for companionship, so there were no specialized training grounds.

"Come out, Charizard!"

Stepping out of the Pokémon House, Red threw the Poké Ball. The enormous Dragon Scale Charizard landed with a ground-shaking thud. Its strong limbs and huge wings frightened the residents present, but knowing Red's character, they quickly began praising him for his excellent training.

"Goodbye, everyone!"

Red jumped onto Charizard, preparing to fly to the hills to master Mega Evolution.

"Cubone! Cubone!"

Cubone, who had been in Reina's arms, quickly ran out, crying and tightly hugging Charizard's leg, wailing to prevent Red from leaving.

(Where did this little kid come from?) Charizard wondered. If it weren't clear that the Cubone wanted to find Red, Charizard might have already kicked it away.

"Cubone, are you willing to travel with me?" Red asked, extending his right hand.

"Cubone!" Cubone quickly nodded. It had already decided to follow Red to achieve its dream and didn't want to part with him just yet.

"Then come up together, Cubone!" Red said with a smile, holding Cubone in his arms as he rode Charizard away from Lavender Town.

After a short flight, they arrived at the hills. The area was filled with naturally formed rock cliffs and a spacious open ground in the center, making it an excellent training area.

"Everyone, come out!"

Red threw out all his Poké Balls. Onix, the Blood-Red Gyarados, Scyther, the Millennium Gengar, and the Shiny Dratini were all released. Cubone had not yet been caught, so the number had not reached its limit.

"First, I'd like to introduce these two new members to you seniors!" Red said with a smile.

(So this is the newcomer who absorbed the Ancient Dragonite's bloodline power?) Onix and Gyarados glanced at each other, sensing the battle intent in each other's eyes. But both knew that the Dratini was still a child, completely incapable of fighting them.

"The second thing is that Charizard will be the opponent for all of you!" Red said calmly. This statement surprised some of the Pokémon, especially the three that belonged to the original six. Although they knew Charizard's strength was extraordinary, handling five Pokémon at once would be too much of a strain, wouldn't it?

'Charizard, you haven't angered the master recently, have you?' Scyther asked tentatively.

'How could I? I'm about to master a brand new power. I'm too excited to be angry!' Charizard said with a smile, already impatient to undergo Mega Evolution. During the flight, Red had already told it about Mega Evolution, which had made Charizard so excited it almost lost control of its wings and fell.

(Getting stronger again…) Onix and Gyarados showed envious looks. When they first joined the team, Charizard was still a child in its Charmander stage. They never thought it would become strong enough to defeat them now.

'It seems Charizard's confidence comes from that!' the Millennium Gengar pointed to the Mega Stone on Charizard's left arm, sensing the powerful energy emanating from it.

"Break the shackles, return to the origin! Respond to my call, Charizard—Mega Evolve!"

Red pressed the Key Stone on the back of his left hand. A bond of light formed a link with Charizard, who burst with a dazzling radiance, its mind inexplicably bringing forth the form it should have possessed.

The light dissipated, and the first things to appear in the sight of the other Pokémon were dark blue flames and crimson eyes. Then, Charizard's new form was displayed before them. Its primary skin color had turned grayish-black, its Dragon Scales now looking indestructible. From its lower jaw to the tip of its tail, its body was sky blue. Blue, claw-like protrusions grew on its shoulders. Fin-like protrusions grew behind its neck, the insides of its wings turned dark blue, and the lower part of its wings split into several sharp, arc-edged points. The tips of the horns on its head turned blue and were very sharp, and two more small black horns had grown. The spikes at the end of its tail were as deadly as a saw.

The mechanical voice echoed in Red's mind. He was stunned for a moment, then seemed to guess something and scanned Charizard's current data.
