A Metal Coat is a necessary item for Onix and Scyther to evolve, and a high-grade one can also significantly boost the battle power of the evolving Pokémon.

"I am very honored. I believe that with Silph Co.'s financial and technical capabilities, you can help my Pokémon obtain a Metal Coat of excellent quality," Red said with slight excitement.
