Chapter 1075 - Finally
The Tyranitar roared and rushed towards the Vigoroth with excitement plain on its face. The sandstorm here created its ideal home turf, a domain where its power was significantly amplified. Aoki hadn't casually bestowed the title 'Sandstorm King' upon it. The Tyranitar let go of its conscious control over the swirling sands, allowing the yellow particles to sweep over both itself and the Vigoroth without any hesitation. With the sand's assistance, its capabilities were greatly enhanced. The Vigoroth, however, felt intensely uncomfortable, forced to endure the stinging pain of sand grains, harder than mere stones, relentlessly pelting its body.
The Vigoroth charged forward with a great deal of flames erupting around its fists, showing no intention of dodging as it locked its focus squarely on the Tyranitar. In response, two massive balls of flame also suddenly materialized on the Tyranitar's own clenched fists. The collision was immense—a powerful bang followed by a deep boom as four fists met in a devastating impact. This time, the Tyranitar held a slight advantage, benefiting from the home court change and the terrifying amplifying effect of its prior Dragon Dance maneuver. After the Vigoroth was blown backward by the force, the Tyranitar did not wait for its opponent to recover but instead took a large, aggressive step forward to close the distance and continue its assault.
"Brick Break!" Aoki commanded sharply from his position. The Tyranitar rushed in and swung with one powerful arm. The Vigoroth, which had just landed awkwardly, was unable to react immediately and could only cross its arms in front of its body in a desperate attempt to endure the Tyranitar's mighty blow. The sound of the impact was a deep boom as the Brick Break came down hard, reminiscent of splitting a watermelon with bare hands. Astonishingly, the Vigoroth managed to endure the direct hit, though its legs were completely bent from the strain and its face was flushed a deep red from the effort. At the precise moment it was bearing the attack, the Vigoroth's claws emitted a bright white light, and the four sharp claws on each hand lashed out with a backhand strike aimed directly at the Tyranitar's chest.
A hissing sound was heard as four tiny, shallow scratches appeared on the Tyranitar's chest plate. Seeing the minimal damage caused by its full-strength attack, the Vigoroth was stunned for a brief moment, its mind reeling at such incredibly strong defensive capabilities. The Vigoroth didn't know that if it had asked Aoki which part of the Tyranitar's body possessed the strongest defense, the answer would undoubtedly have been the gray, armor-like area covering its chest and abdomen. This was the location of the Tyranitar's most powerful defense! The appearance of the four minor scratches caused the Tyranitar a small amount of pain, but it did not significantly affect its ability to battle. The Tyranitar immediately made a fist with its left hand and swung it out directly with tremendous force.
The sound of the impact was another loud bang as the dazed Vigoroth was blasted directly into the air, sent reeling from the powerful counterpunch. "Now, Tyranitar, Stone Edge! Precipice Blades!" Aoki shouted in a timely manner, seizing the opportunity. Upon hearing this command, the Tyranitar immediately understood Aoki's strategic intention. It let out a low, intimidating roar that echoed across the field. Several huge, sharpened rocks suddenly materialized in the air, perfectly predicting the trajectory of the Vigoroth's backward flight. This time, the Vigoroth had no place to leverage its strength and had truly become an aerial target, completely vulnerable to the onslaught.
The Vigoroth stared grimly at the enormous rocks falling from above, knowing that if it couldn't dodge, its only option was to take the attack head-on. It slammed its fists against the first of the falling rocks with all its might, successfully shattering the Stone Edge into pieces. However, this action served to make its descent back to the ground even faster and more uncontrolled. Yet, this initial Stone Edge was merely a feint; the real attack was still yet to come. The Tyranitar let out another powerful roar, and the gray armored areas on its body suddenly lit up with a brilliant mix of red and yellow energy, a very distinct "Ω" symbol appearing vividly across its form. Even the aura surrounding its body underwent a slight but noticeable change, intensifying with power.
Immediately afterwards, a massive, sharp stone pillar erupted from the ground at the exact point where the Vigoroth was destined to fall. Not only was the pillar incredibly sharp, but the top section also emitted a dangerous red glow and radiated intense heat. The collision was catastrophic—a loud BANG echoed as the Vigoroth, without even a chance to react, was brutally struck by the falling rock remnants and simultaneously impaled by the Precipice Blades springing up from the ground. Under the dual forces, the two skills powerfully reinforced each other. This combination not only made the Stone Edge more devastating but also allowed the Precipice Blades to attack from multiple angles, fully developing its attack power to the absolute extreme.
After completely enduring this ferocious combination of attacks, the Vigoroth fell to the ground and twitched uncontrollably for a short while, utterly unable to stand up again. Seeing the current defeated state of the Vigoroth, the Tyranitar opened its massive arms wide and roared triumphantly to the sky, a sound of pure victory. This battle had truly been an encounter with an opponent who was nearly equally matched in both raw strength and combat power. But Vigoroth were Vigoroth after all, possessing some congenital defects that limited their potential. If, and it was a significant if, this Vigoroth had evolved into a Slaking, then the one who would have failed today would most likely have been the Tyranitar. But today, the loser was the Vigoroth!
Aoki had invested a tremendous number of resources into this Tyranitar, from the fragments of Groudon's energy it absorbed early on, to the essence of Groudon's soul it later integrated, the special energy stones obtained from the Tyranitar people, the assistance of a large number of other Tyranitar during its training, and the continuous supply of rare diamonds for nourishment. It was completely normal that it could exert such immense combat power. This kind of extensive resource investment was about far more than just money; it simply could not be measured by currency alone. Some of the things it had received truly could not be bought with any amount of wealth.
With its near-perfect pseudo-legendary potential, fighting against a Vigoroth that possessed cyan-level potential, even if that Vigoroth was at a high level of development, the Tyranitar deserved its victory. But this particular Vigoroth was quite special in its own right, having been on par with the Tyranitar at the very beginning of their confrontation. The Vigoroth lay on the ground twitching for a few more moments before it finally managed to stir, slowly pushing itself up. During this entire time, the Tyranitar did not launch another attack, and even at a subtle signal from Aoki, the sandstorm was stopped completely by it. By this point, a thick layer of yellow sand had accumulated across the battlefield. Under the Tyranitar's careful control, the yellow sand slowly receded and blended back into the underlying soil until it had completely disappeared from view.
The Vigoroth watched this entire scene unfold with a cautious gaze and did not attempt to launch another attack. Aoki took one last long, appraising look at the powerful Normal-type Pokemon, then turned and left with his team of Pokemon. The goal for today had been to explore the surrounding situation and terrain, not to engage in prolonged battles. Furthermore, if he wanted to properly tame this particularly strong Vigoroth, it would require careful planning and strategy; simply forcing the issue would not work and could even be counterproductive. Looking at the backs of Aoki and his Pokemon as they departed, the Vigoroth still did not move, but there was something unknown and thoughtful flickering deep within its eyes. Noticing this, a slight smile curled up at the corner of Aoki's mouth. He had decided; he would find a way to capture this remarkably powerful Vigoroth.
The three Skuntank who were pulling Aoki's specialized transport chair slowly forward now really didn't even dare to breathe too loudly, thoroughly intimidated by the display of power they had just witnessed. It turned out that the big green guy they had foolishly provoked before actually possessed such incredible strength. And it seemed that this big guy was not even the strongest Pokemon surrounding this strange human creature. The pink-looking Pokemon with a strange hat perched on its head that exuded an undeniable noble aura, and the other Pokemon that looked like a pure white flower and was equally elegant and noble—these two beings seemed to be even more terrifying in their latent power. The way the big green Tyranitar behaved in front of these two particular Pokemon was more like a respectful younger brother showing great deference to his older and more powerful siblings.
Although they were somewhat surprised at the immense strength displayed by the Tyranitar, their primary emotion was mostly one of relief, a sense that things were as they should be. This may have been an expression that only elders would show to their juniors. The three Skuntank were now incredibly nervous, their previous bravado completely gone. However, they had survived in these harsh conditions to this very day, and their ability to read the moods and expressions of more powerful beings was practically impeccable. They correctly discerned that the human creature sitting on the chair in the middle of the group, who seemed to have some difficulty moving on his own, was the undeniable core and leader of these powerful Pokemon. All the Pokemon, whether intentionally or unintentionally, were constantly protecting this human from any potential harm.
And these Pokemon, who seemed far too powerful and majestic to the lowly Skuntank, all obeyed this human's commands without question. Therefore, as long as they could please this particular human creature, there would be no need to worry about their immediate safety or future well-being. This situation was a bit like that of individuals who struggled at the very bottom of society; they always had to learn to please the more powerful figures around them in order to survive and perhaps even thrive in a dangerous world.
