Chapter 1100 - Giratina vs. Ho-Oh
The atmosphere crackled with tension as Giratina shifted its formidable gaze toward Ho-Oh. An increasingly fierce aura radiated from its form, causing the surrounding space to warp and destabilize. A web of black fissures tore through the air around it, offering fleeting glimpses into a distorted, alternate dimension.
Ho-Oh's expression grew solemn and resolute.
"Just try it! If you initiate a conflict with me here, I will oppose every move you make from this day forward! If you threaten this world, I will stand against you, always!" Ho-Oh declared, its voice resonant and unwavering, meeting Giratina's challenge without a trace of retreat.
Simultaneously, three indistinct shadows materialized at the mountain's peak below Ho-Oh. From within these shadows, the spectral forms of the Legendary Beasts—Raikou, Entei, and Suicune—began to solidify, summoned by Ho-Oh's power.
Noticing their presence, Giratina let out a derisive chuckle, though internally it was unsettled by Ho-Oh's threat. The Pokémon world had long been its objective, but the overarching presence of Arceus had thus far limited its actions to subtle, behind-the-scenes manipulations—most of which had proven ineffective. Should Ho-Oh actively begin to interfere, Giratina's ambitions would be severely compromised.
Yet, Giratina was not one to be cowed by threats. When enraged, it became a force of pure, unpredictable chaos.
With a thunderous roar, it cried, "Then let us put it to the test!"
Defying all convention, Giratina surged forward, the ghostly appendages on its back flaring like wicked wings as it charged directly at Ho-Oh.
Ho-Oh's cry shifted in tone. It released a piercing screech, and its body became enveloped in a brilliant, sacred, golden radiance.
BOOM!!!
The two colossal Pokémon collided mid-air with catastrophic force.
The very fabric of space shattered instantly, revealing the chaotic void beyond. A massive rift was torn open in the sky.
Down below, Aoki and his Pokémon watched the devastating clash with a mixture of awe and solemnity. This was a level of power far beyond their current capabilities—a force they could not hope to oppose.
Even Kommo-o, which had always considered itself powerful, was humbled by the display. It had believed itself strong, but the battle between Ho-Oh and Giratina served as a stark reminder that there were always greater powers.
As Ho-Oh and Giratina clashed, the three phantoms on the mountaintop fully materialized into their physical forms. It was clear that Ho-Oh had summoned them not merely as a deterrent, but out of necessity once the battle commenced.
Raikou, Entei, and Suicune did not join the aerial battle. Instead, they positioned themselves around the ruptured space, focusing their energies on containing the damage and mending the torn dimensional fabric. Their strength, while immense, was insufficient to directly intervene in the fight between the two titans; Ho-Oh had summoned them primarily to prevent the collateral damage from claiming the lives of countless Pokémon within the space.
With another fierce cry, Ho-Oh beat its magnificent wings, unleashing a wave of force in an attempt to drive Giratina back through the rift and out of the unstable space.
"If you wish to fight, then we will take this outside!" Ho-Oh roared, its anger now palpable. Its golden plumage blazed with an intense, fiery aura, reminiscent of the highest flames a Blaziken could muster—though the true difference in power was known only to the legends themselves.
The Blaziken at Aoki's side watched, mesmerized, as Ho-Oh's flames danced across the sky, lost in deep contemplation.
Giratina, though reluctant, found itself forced backward by Ho-Oh's relentless assault until both were through the rift and into the distorted dimension beyond.
With the two legendaries gone, Aoki immediately acted. Harnessing his psychic powers, he levitated and began working alongside Slowking to stabilize and repair the shattered space. The day's events were, in part, his responsibility. Given that Ho-Oh had intervened to save Gengar, it seemed at least open to dialogue. By assisting in the restoration, Aoki hoped to foster goodwill.
Floating mid-air, Aoki focused his abilities. Slowking's telekinetic power was substantial, but when it came to the manipulation of spatial energy, Aoki's own advanced psychic capabilities held a slight edge. The two did not separate; instead, Slowking channeled its psychic energy into Aoki, amplifying his efforts as he directed the combined power toward healing the ruptured dimension.
This synergistic use of psychic power was a hallmark of high-level psychic ability, allowing Trainer and Pokémon to merge their strengths into a single, more potent force. It was a technique that required immense control and synchronization, one that made Psychic-type specialists like Sabrina so formidable—when facing her Pokémon, one was often effectively facing her as well.
As Aoki worked, he kept one eye on the battle raging in the distortion outside. At that level of power, combatants rarely relied on conventional moves; every action was infused with innate, devastating energy.
So engrossed was he in his observation that he didn't notice another presence drawing near until it was barely a meter away.
A Pokémon with a crystalline, azure headdress, flowing white ribbons that billowed like the wind, and elegant blue and white patterns embodying the essence of water and air—Suicune, the incarnation of the north wind.
Suicune's crimson eyes regarded Aoki with open curiosity. As a messenger of Ho-Oh, it had encountered many humans, but never one who could wield psychic power to mend space itself.
Meeting Suicune's pure, serene gaze, Aoki offered a slightly awkward but polite smile. First impressions mattered.
Suicune let out a soft, melodic cry and dipped its head in a slight nod, committing the human's scent and appearance to memory. Here was a most unusual human. It could sense the aura of multiple Legendary Pokémon upon him—Lugia, Celebi, Mew… a trace of something shadowy and obscure, and even a faint whisper of the Life Guardian itself. A truly fascinating individual. Who was this human, who had encountered so many mythical beings?
Suicune's curiosity only deepened.
