Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Hatching Pokémon Egg
### Chapter 10: Hatching Pokémon Egg
After a long deliberation at the skill machines in the mall, I finally chose eight skills for my Pokémon. First, I opted for "Sleep Talk," a useful move that all Pokémon can learn to deal with sleeping conditions. Next, I selected the defensive skill "Sturdy" to protect against potential one-hit KOs. Following that, I picked several weather-related skills: "Sunny Day," "Rain Dance," "Hail," and "Sandstorm." Lastly, I chose two powerful attack skills: "Destruction Ray" and "Giga Impact."
While I considered other options, I felt that these skills would be sufficient for now. Ronaldinho decided to use some of his remaining diamonds to acquire additional skills. Since we were now traveling together, relying solely on fast food and instant noodles like we did before wouldn't be ideal.
I spent my diamonds on character skills without hesitation. First up were cooking and medical skills, which are essential for food preparation and wound treatment in the wild. These skills were relatively inexpensive, costing only 200 diamonds each, compared to the thousands needed for Pokémon items.
I decided to stop comparing prices, as it was hurting my self-esteem!
Next, I spent 600 diamonds on driving skills, which was costly but covered all means of transportation, including cars, planes, and ships. With this skill, if we got Ronaldinho a rocket, he could literally fly into outer space!
I also spent 1,000 diamonds on the skill to communicate with Pokémon, allowing us to understand their language. This would make communication and training much more convenient.
Regarding my popularity points, I had over 14,000. I used 12,000 points to unlock the Ability Modifier—something that Ronaldinho had always wanted. Some Pokémon have extraordinary abilities, and being able to modify them would be fantastic.
However, after unlocking the Ability Modifier, I felt a bit disappointed. It turned out that I could only modify the abilities of my own Pokémon and not those of others. Otherwise, the ability to change various Pokémon abilities could lead to some truly unbalanced situations. For instance, consider a Sableye, which has both Ghost and Dark attributes. If it had the Magic Guard ability and learned a Wonder Guard move, it would be nearly invincible.
After some reflection, I decided that Charizard's ability didn't need changing. Although "Solar Force" offers explosive damage, it also requires losing health on sunny days, which could be problematic. I changed Sylveon's ability to "Pixilate," allowing its normal-type moves to be counted as Fairy-type. Frogadier's ability was modified to "Protein," enabling it to switch between various attributes. I determined that Beedrill, Nidoran, and Oddish did not need changes, as their current abilities were the most suitable.
Once the modifications were complete, I called out my Pokémon and had them learn the skills from the skill machines in sequence. Afterward, Ronaldinho checked the status of his Pokémon.

After some thought, I decided to keep Nidoran and Cleffa since I would be giving them to Lillie later. I didn't want to be too stingy with her.
Just as I put the Pokémon away, there was a knock on the door. I immediately got up to open it and found Lillie outside, wearing pure white pajamas and holding a Pokémon egg in her hands. She said in a panic, "Ronaldinho, it's bad! I just saw the egg glowing!"
As she spoke, the Pokémon egg in her hand flashed with white light again before going dark. Remembering the Pokémon anime I had watched for so long, I quickly said, "Come in first—the Pokémon egg is about to hatch!"
Lillie stepped into the room and placed the Pokémon egg on my desk. I closed the door and turned back to see the egg glowing again, and I realized that the little creature inside was eager to be born!
I hurried to the bedside to witness the hatching with Lillie. The white light grew brighter, and Lillie nervously grasped the corner of my pajamas. Then there was a click, and the white light gradually faded away.
A small, furry white creature appeared before us. Just as I had guessed, it was the Ice Vulpix from the Alola region. The little creature opened its eyes, sat upright, and looked around at both of us, curious about who its parents were.
I stepped back a little, and Ice Vulpix immediately walked up to Lillie, rubbing its little head against her face. Lillie happily hugged Ice Vulpix, stroking its soft fur, and said with a smile, "You're so cold and so white! I'll call you Snowy from now on."
Snowy narrowed its eyes and seemed to smile as it accepted the name. Seeing this, I took out a Poké Ball from my backpack and handed it to Lillie, saying, "Lillie, now that Snowy has hatched and recognized you, you can tame it. It will be your first Pokémon."
However, Lillie hesitated and replied, "Isn't this inappropriate? The Principal asked me to bring this Pokémon to Professor Oak."
"It's okay," I assured her. "I've already discussed this situation with Professor Oak. He's not pedantic; he just wants to study the differences between regional Pokémon. Snowy can stay at Professor Oak's institute for a while longer." I placed the Poké Ball directly in Lillie's hands and added, "Plus, you need to consider Snowy's feelings. Maybe it wants to travel with you."
Eventually, Lillie was convinced. She placed the Poké Ball in front of Snowy and asked, "Snowy, are you willing to travel with me and become my first Pokémon?"
Snowy nodded and gently touched the Poké Ball's switch, transforming it into a red light and capturing itself inside.
Holding the Poké Ball, Lillie said happily, "That's great!"
Seeing this, Ronaldinho placed Nidoran's and Cleffa's Poké Balls in Lillie's hands. When she looked at him in confusion, Ronaldinho blushed and explained, "Well, congratulations on becoming a Pokémon trainer. These are the two Pokémon I picked for you at the game center. I hope you like them."
"Yes, thank you, Ronaldinho," Lillie replied. She then gave him a big hug, wished him goodnight, and left his room.
That hug made Ronaldinho happy until midnight before he finally fell asleep. Sylveon, who was being used as a pillow, shook its head, thinking: It seems that my master is very happy!
