"Hmm~ Big talk, kid. When my Machamp breaks your Pokémon's bones and ruptures its insides, don't say I didn't warn you."

"Go, Machamp! Show this guy what you're made of!"

The flat-topped youth, Kimura, narrowed his eyes at Sato's words, a wolfish gleam flashing in his gaze. He scrutinized Sato carefully before grinning and speaking arrogantly.

"Machaaaaamp!!"

As soon as Machamp heard its Trainer's words, its entire body bulged with muscle, swelling like a living hulk. Its skin flushed red, and a wave of searing steam began to rise from its body.

In an instant, an intense aura erupted from the Level 48 Machamp, sending a heavy pressure rippling across the field and making the nearby spectators feel like their shoulders had suddenly been weighed down.

'As expected of someone from the Johto League's Top 8. He's got real skill. Under his training, that Machamp's control over its body is nearly perfect—it's even capable of boosting blood flow to enhance muscle strength.'

'With this unique form of power-up, Machamp's speed and strength get an explosive temporary boost. The downside is that it can't be maintained for long… but it's more than enough to last a battle.'

'Guess he wasn't bluffing earlier. Any regular Pokémon that gets hit by that Machamp is bound to suffer fractured bones or internal injuries.'

'Too bad for you—you bumped into me first. You won't get a chance to brag about your Top 8 record any further.'

Seeing the state of the Machamp, Sato's expression grew a little serious. After quickly scanning Machamp with his psychic power and system, he had to admit—Kimura did have some right to be arrogant.

Technically, a roulette wheel was supposed to decide who sent out their Pokémon first, but since Kimura had released Machamp immediately, the referee saw no issue and skipped the process.

The referee then signaled the staff to spin the roulette to determine the battlefield terrain. A few seconds later, the result was in—rock terrain.

"Come on out, Pelipper. You'll end this match."

The moment the battlefield was announced, Sato—who had long since decided on his strategy—pulled out a PokeBall and tossed it high.

With a burst of white light, a Pelipper significantly larger and leaner than its kind appeared in the sky.

"Pelliiip!"

As soon as it appeared, the Pelipper let out a long cry. Instantly, thick Water-type energy surged in from the surrounding arena conduits.

Moments later, dark clouds gathered above the battlefield, and within seconds, a torrential downpour began.

After battling criminal Pokémon all night yesterday, this shiny Pelipper had reached Level 41. And perhaps due to fighting crime with Sato, its morale was now soaring.

In short—this shiny Pelipper, who now considered herself a heroic Pokémon, was brimming with fighting spirit.

'Are you kidding me? Why do I keep running into such strong Trainers? How am I supposed to show off like this?'

'What did that Pelipper grow up eating?! It's twice the size of any I've seen, and it's lean with actual muscle definition. Is this even the same species I know?'

'What the hell? That Pelipper's Drizzle ability is way too overdeveloped. It started pouring instantly—and not just any rain, but a deluge! Is this supposed to turn my Machamp into a swimmer?!'

As one of the Johto Silver Conference's Top 8, Kimura had a sharp eye. The moment he saw Sato send out a clearly well-trained Flying-type to battle, and when the rain immediately began pouring, his eyelids twitched. He knew he had just kicked a steel wall.

As Machamp's Trainer, he knew very well—rainy weather was bad for his Pokémon.

The cold rain would continuously sap Machamp's body heat, neutralizing the blood-boost technique that gave it its explosive physical power.

But having just put on a big performance in front of his opponent and his fans, there was no way he could back down now. All he could do was bite the bullet and go through with it.

"Hmph, coward! Sending a Flying-type against my Machamp? If you're a real man, let's have a fists-only brawl! Do you dare?!"

Kimura, spotting Sato's youthful face, suddenly had an idea. He put on a look of deep contempt and shouted challengingly at Sato.

"Do you dare?!"

"Do you dare?!"

"Do you dare?!"

As soon as he yelled, his pack of crazed fans behind him erupted with excitement, screaming the same phrase in unison to hype him up.

"That acting is beyond fake. Pelipper, give them a Hydro Pump as a welcome gift."

Sato merely sneered at Kimura's lame attempt at provocation. There was no way he'd fall for such a cheap trick.

As for the fans' rabid chanting, he viewed them as nothing but clowns. Without hesitation, he gave Pelipper the command to strike from range.

The moment the shiny Pelipper heard his command, a thick, high-pressure stream of water blasted from her wide beak and rocketed toward Machamp.

Empowered by the rainy weather, the Water-type energy surged the moment it left her mouth, transforming into a roaring, serpentine Hydro Pump shaped like a water dragon.

"Dodge it!"

Seeing the terrifying power behind the Hydro Pump, Kimura's face turned pale and he immediately shouted for Machamp to evade.

Not that Machamp needed telling—it knew full well it couldn't take that hit. In a burst of speed, it pushed off the ground and darted several meters to the right.

A split second later—BOOM!—the blast struck.

Chunks of rock and massive splashes erupted everywhere.

The spot Machamp had just been standing on was now a massive crater, so deep that the steel plating at the bottom of the arena was clearly visible.

As the crowd saw the dented steel shown on the big screen—left behind by Pelipper's Hydro Pump—those rabid fans fell silent in an instant, their cheers dying in their throats as if choked off.

Though they were hardcore fans, even they knew the basics of Pokémon battling.

If a Pokémon has long-range attacks that powerful, why on earth would it ever go into melee?

Melee? Not happening.

"Machamp, stop standing there! Smash the rocks around you and use Bullet Thunder Punch—blast that bird out of the sky!"

Though his face twitched at the sight of the battlefield's destruction, Kimura quickly seized the moment. As a Silver Conference Top 8 Trainer, he knew that after using such a powerful move, Pelipper would need time to recover—now was the perfect time to counterattack.

"Machamp!!"

Snapping out of it, Machamp smashed a nearby boulder, then rapidly began combining Bullet Punch and Thunder Punch with all four arms, striking the broken rocks.

In seconds, the shattered wet stones became razor-sharp projectiles launched skyward like bullets—each charged with crackling electric energy from the moisture.

If those electrified stone shards hit the shiny Pelipper, she would be struck by both Rock- and Electric-type attacks—two types she was massively weak to. A x6 damage multiplier.

It would either knock her out cold or cause serious injury.

Unfortunately for Kimura, before the shards could even reach her, a swirling mini tornado of rainwater surged up and blocked their path like a ferocious barrier.

At that moment, the shiny Pelipper—already connected with Sato via telepathy—unleashed a surge of vibrant blue Flying-type energy.

Thanks to the rare Supreme Sky Splitting Stone on her person, her already excellent control over Flying-type energy had now reached new heights.

Under her precise manipulation, the energy swirled like an extension of her own limbs. Within two or three seconds, she whipped up a full-blown Hurricane, which rapidly grew in size.

Under the stunned gazes of the audience, a massive 5-meter-wide tornado formed, sucking up water and debris with terrifying force.

Spectators immediately fled from their seats, running to avoid being caught in the gale.

As for Machamp—though it clung desperately to a giant rock, it was ultimately no use. The tornado dragged him in, spinning him around like laundry in a washing machine.

Ten seconds later, under the awe-filled stares of the audience, Sato walked calmly away from the battlefield with the shiny Pelipper.

All that remained on the now-ruined battlefield was a collapsed Machamp—and Kimura, slumped in defeat.
