Pokémon: Unlocking The Path to Supremacy

Chapter 26: CHAPTER 26

"Treecko, use Energy Ball!"

Treecko brought its hands together, trying to condense a vibrant green sphere of energy. A faint glow appeared, but the moment it formed, it flickered out of existence.

"Add or not…"

Treecko's tail drooped slightly, disappointment clear in its expression. It had failed again.

Aoki, however, remained unfazed. "It's okay, don't worry," he reassured, kneeling down to pat Treecko's head lightly. "I believe in you. You will succeed."

He knew that Energy Ball was a powerful Grass-type move that could be learned in Treecko's evolutionary line. Unlike Solar Beam, which required extended charging unless under the sun, Energy Ball had no such drawback and could be a great asset in battle. Even Ash's Treecko in the manga had to train rigorously before mastering it. Aoki decided to help his own Treecko learn it early to strengthen its move pool before evolution.

"Add or not!"

Encouraged by Aoki's words, Treecko clenched its small fists, determination shining in its eyes.

Through his Aura of Viridian, Aoki could sense Treecko's unwavering resolve. It wasn't just about learning the move—it was about proving itself to Aoki and becoming stronger.

"Alright, you're pushing yourself too hard. Take a break," Aoki said, standing up. "I need to get something to eat too."

"Add or not!"

Treecko instantly perked up, its arrogant demeanor momentarily forgotten as it eagerly followed Aoki. Its eyes gleamed in anticipation, and a bit of drool formed at the corner of its mouth.

After spending over a week with Aoki, Treecko had become addicted to his specially crafted Celadon and Rainbow Pokéblocks.

Gone was the prideful Pokémon that once acted indifferent toward food. Now, it was the fastest eater among them, as if it had experienced prolonged hunger before.

Frogadier and Combusken exchanged glances before sighing, shaking their heads at their overeager teammate.

"This little guy's got it rough," Frogadier muttered.

Even Boss Lairon, who normally remained composed, nudged a Celadon Pokéblock toward Treecko with a metallic clang.

"Cola…"

Treecko's eyes sparkled as it gratefully accepted the food. "Add or not!"

A big brother like this was truly generous!

"Cola…"

Boss Lairon rumbled in acknowledgment.

Aoki smiled as he observed his Pokémon growing closer. A harmonious team bond was forming, which was crucial for future battles.

"Alright, after eating, rest up. Training resumes in the afternoon. Treecko, you must learn Energy Ball."

"Add or not!"

Treecko extended its hand, its emerald eyes burning with determination.

Suddenly—rustle, rustle!

The sound of shifting leaves broke the peaceful moment.

Boss Lairon immediately stood up, its steel body reflecting the sunlight. As the eldest member of the group, it instinctively took a protective stance in front of Aoki.

Combusken and Frogadier tensed, ready for a fight.

Treecko, despite its small frame, spread its arms and positioned itself in front of Aoki, showing its unwavering loyalty.

From within the dense foliage, a blue, bug-like creature with four thin legs emerged cautiously.

Surskit.

Aoki instantly recognized the Pokémon.

Surskit eyed Aoki with curiosity, but its gaze quickly locked onto Treecko's plate.

Its tiny body trembled slightly as it hesitated, but its stomach growled audibly.

Treecko immediately scooped up its plate and let out a warning cry. "Add or not!"

This was its food!

Aoki's mind quickly processed the situation.

Treecko was naturally territorial, but Surskit's interest in food meant it was a potential sparring partner.

Aoki smirked and pulled out a few Pokéblocks. "Surskit, if you battle my Treecko, I'll give you these as a reward."

Surskit's antennae twitched, and after a moment's hesitation, it eagerly stepped forward, ready to fight.

"Treecko, don't let me down."

Treecko placed its food aside and leaped forward, standing tall despite the size difference.

Surskit wasted no time. A powerful jet of water shot out from its mouth, carrying immense speed and force.

"Water Gun! Dodge it and use Bullet Seed!"

Treecko swiftly leaped to the side, avoiding the attack by a hair's breadth. It then opened its mouth, unleashing a rapid barrage of green projectiles.

Boom!

The two moves clashed, causing an explosion of mist and debris.

But Surskit wasn't done—it retaliated with Bubble Beam, releasing a flurry of glowing bubbles.

"Treecko, don't dodge—use Energy Ball!"

Treecko's hands moved instinctively, summoning a flicker of green energy. A faint sphere began forming, but just as it was about to be launched—

Pop!

The attack dissipated.

A split second later, Bubble Beam crashed into Treecko, sending it tumbling backward.

"Treecko!"

Treecko gritted its teeth and struggled to its feet, panting.

Surskit pressed forward, launching another Water Gun straight at Treecko.

Aoki clenched his fists. "I believe in you, Treecko! You can do it—use Energy Ball!"

Treecko's eyes widened. It could feel Aoki's unwavering trust.

Something inside it ignited.

A swirling green light formed in its palms, brighter and faster than before.

Whoosh!

With a powerful thrust, Treecko launched the Energy Ball straight ahead.

The vibrant sphere collided with Water Gun, dispersing the water attack instantly before slamming into Surskit with full force.

Surskit cried out, skidding across the ground before crashing onto its back.

"Treecko, excellent! Again!"

Not wasting a moment, Treecko generated another Energy Ball, this time much faster than before.

Boom!

The second attack struck Surskit before it could recover, knocking it unconscious.

Aoki grinned. "That's my Treecko!"

"Add or not!"

Treecko stood proudly, chest puffed out, clearly pleased with itself.

Aoki quickly healed Treecko first before tending to Surskit's injuries.

When Surskit awoke, it blinked up at Aoki, who offered it a small chunk of Pokéblock.

Surskit hesitated before nibbling on the treat. After finishing, it chirped in gratitude before skittering off into the brush.

"Alright, Treecko, Combusken," Aoki called out. "Now that we've finished training—let's eat."

"Add or not!"

"Koaa!"

"Croa!"

With their hunger and battle spirits ignited, the team gathered for their well-earned meal.
