Chapter 184: The Ghoul Brothers
Furthermore, because of Su Kuan's wealth, he could afford to lower his prices by ninety percent and even a hundred percent against a fierce competitor, forcing them to relocate to another city or become part of Su Kuan's businesses.
Thus, Su Kuan had always gotten what he wanted.
Now, Su Kuan's judgment fell on Duan Mu. His restaurant had been marked as a threat, and there was nothing he could do to stop the hammer from falling on his head.
'If only Su Kuan used underhanded tactics that could get him in trouble,' Duan Mu sighed.
As for the truth of the matter, Duan Mu was oblivious to it. The underhanded methods Su Kuan had used until today could be counted in the hundreds and would only increase with time.

Meanwhile, a hundred feet away, on top of the roof of a three-story building, three black-cloaked figures sat cross-legged as they stared unblinkingly at Duan's Restaurant.
They each exuded an evil and violent aura, causing the atmosphere around them to distort, but somehow, the store owners beneath their feet continued to sleep peacefully.
Sometime later, the shortest of them, standing only at a height of four feet, tore his eyes away from the wooden walls of the restaurant and looked up.
Above, the sky was an endless expanse of pitch-black darkness surrounding a full moon. Bright rays of moonlight shone down, casting long shadows across Arcadia, but the rays of moonlight seemingly phased through the trio as though they did not exist.
"It's midnight. Elder brother, let's get this over with." His voice was deep and hoarse as he spoke to the eight-foot-tall man standing a foot in front of him.
"We wait for the signal. Su Kuan pays us to follow his orders, not to act rashly. We wait!" The eldest of the three responded.
"But we've been waiting for hours." The youngest looked at him bitterly. "Duan Mu's restaurant isn't guarded. Duan Mu himself is a cripple, and the old bastard Carlton is just a Low-Tier Tendon-Tempering Mage. And that chef is just a brat. There's nothing we, the Ghoul Brothers, have to fear."
The short man grumbled. It was obvious he was displeased and disdained his opposition. However, he did not push further. He knew better than to challenge the eldest's authority. Otherwise, he would be devoured and turned into the eldest's nourishment.
However, unexpectedly, the eldest of the trio standing in front, briefly glanced up at the sky. After noting it was exactly midnight, he flicked his wrist upwards, and from his Spatial Ring, a Talisman flew out.
As he channeled his Mana into the Talisman, it rapidly expanded from the size of a palm to five feet tall.
At the same time, the third black-robed figure, who had remained silent the entire time, realized what was happening and swiftly condensed his Element onto his finger.
A gray light flashed on his index finger, and under his careful control, it left his fingertip and bore into the roof tiles beneath his feet.
"Veil Of The Forgotten." He muttered under his breath.
*Woosh*
In the next moment, a gray pentagon formed underneath their feet, and with a burst of frigid wind, a gray circle surrounded them, just as the Talisman activated, projecting the figure of a middle-aged man with slick-backed black hair, clothed in a luxurious golden robe. He was seated on a plush recliner next to a beautiful young girl in a wide room.
The middle-aged man was none other than Su Kuan, and the young girl was his niece, Su Bei. They were currently seated in the second exclusive VVVIP Room at the Dragon Phoenix Auction House, overlooking the ongoing auction.
"Is it done?" Su Kuan asked as he eyed the VVVIP Room next to his with a sinister grin.
The eldest of the Ghoul Brothers shook his head. "Not yet. Lucian only just started cooking."
As soon as Su Kuan heard his words, the sinister grin on his face turned into displeasure, and his right hand on the armrest tightened.
*Crack*
*Crack*
*Crack*
"Then, what the Hell are you doing contacting me?" Su Kuan spat. "Go in there and stop him. Why the Hell do you think I paid you three?"
The eldest was not displeased, and he asked calmly, "Master if things go awry, can I use 'that'?"
Su Kuan's expression darkened, but after a moment of silence, he spoke, "... If I gave it to you, why do you still need my permission? Damnit, this is why I told you to stop consuming Ghouls. You're becoming more like your youngest brother by the day! Now, go finish the task. I want Lucian and James' names to be ruined tonight.
I want them humiliated beyond recovery."
With that, the Talisman cracked and disappeared into nothingness after Su Kuan cut the connection.
"Does that mean we can finally go?" The youngest of the Ghoul Brothers asked excitedly.
"We can't afford mistakes. We move in, finish the job, and disappear. Like always, leave no evidence behind." The eldest warned, and then his figure disappeared from the roof, followed by the quiet middle brother.
"About time." The youngest let out a low chuckle as his figure flickered and he quickly followed after his brothers.

Within Duan's Restaurant, the sudden sound of a door opening roused Duan Mu from his depressing thoughts. Turning his head around, he watched as Mei exited the kitchen and walked towards them.
'Why does Miss Mei have that expression?' Duan Mu wondered.
Instead of a neutral expression, Mei's face had a deep frown.
'Did something happen in the kitchen? Could it be… Chef Lucian doesn't have enough time to cook 553 Siren's Melody Poached Eggs?'
"Duan Mu, follow me. Chef Lucian needs you for something." Mei said simply.
"Me?" Duan Mu pointed at himself with a shocked expression. "What could he possibly need me for?"
"He didn't tell me. But it should be important. Follow me." Then, without speaking further, Mei entered the kitchen.
