Chapter 608: The Fall of the Becker Clan
Feeling his abilities leave his body was terrifying and caused him terrible pain and fear, but along with these, his blood and power were leaving, which took away his ability to speak.
The giant's enormous body, which carried the ancestral power of a Universal Path, suddenly shrank back to its normal height and was dressed in rags.
Because he had mixed his power as a giant with his Universal Path, and the power of the giants was being shaken and extracted, the path of destruction he carried was deactivated, which caused his power to suffer a tremendous setback.
Then his body began to turn blood red, as if all the blood in his body wanted to come out through his pores. Being so vulnerable and without the ability to defend himself, Matthew's hand crossed his chest and reached the other side, holding his heart in his hand.
Then all the abilities that Leader Becker had left his body and entered Matthew, returning to their original place.
Matthew smiled.
"I was just gaining experience and strengthening my body before, Leader Becker. You, the Heirs, are nothing more than vessels that carry my abilities. I can extract them whenever I want. What could you do against me? You have only ever been that, a tool, just like your children. Now you can disappear from this world; I do not need traitors in my race.
Finally, Matthew shook off the dying body of Leader Becker, and he fell backwards, staring at him with hatred in his eyes.
His heart felt terrible. He deeply hated the man standing in front of him, absorbing his powers. His body should still have power since he had not based his entire existence on those abilities. Proof of that was that his Path of Destruction was amazing, but he couldn't do it. His body no longer responded to him because his heart was destroyed.
Little by little, his consciousness descended into an infinite darkness of terror and ignorance while everyone looked at the victor of this combat.
Matthew didn't even give the lifeless body a second glance as it soon fell to the ground, as it was of no interest to him. After absorbing the guy's blood and storing it in that ball inside him, he looked at the golems below him.
"They didn't scatter because they recognized me as their master." Matthew smiled. This was very convenient. Although they no longer had the power of destruction, they were still powerful, resistant golems.
That's why he decided to use them.
When he finished his fight, Leader Becker's allies and his entire family were shocked, and they forgot that they were in mortal combat.
It was thanks to that that Gray and all his people were able to crush many of them with a frenzy of powerful attacks.
Gray was a killing machine who took down many powerful people with his mighty fists.
Although Gray seemed to be fighting as a subordinate and did not want to steal Matthew's credit, at that moment, the Beckers finally remembered that Gray was no secondary character.
On the global scale of today's world, he may be the only one capable of standing up to the new world leaders.
He was the most powerful of the vampire race until those guys arrived. How could he be a simple supporting character? In a battle, he would shine greatly.
Although Matthew got rid of the most powerful of them, the number of those Gray killed and endured with his body was greater, but he always stayed on the sidelines, allowing Matthew to take all the credit. After all, they were here thanks to his plans and schemes.
Soon, the golems joined the fray, razing another portion of the city and Becker's allied powers. No innocent died this time; somehow, Matthew avoided causing unnecessary deaths.
The fall of one of the most deeply rooted families throughout the history of this world took less than the fall of a small kingdom.
Such was the power of the Allens and their allies.
"Two Independent Clans, the most powerful Vampire Clan, and other allies are certainly capable of wiping out a kingdom in a few hours. Today, I have understood this." Matthew said with a slight smile at the end of the several-hour battle.
Beside him was Gray Allen, bloodied but smiling and drinking water because they needed it.
"Haha, Young Master, the power of the allied Clans is good, but the most important thing was your exploits. Not only did you play with all their minds, but it seems that those explosions were planned so that they wouldn't use the great Becker barriers, right? That saved us more than seven days because even with all our current strength, it wouldn't be easy to break through in such a short time if they were activated."
"Furthermore, the fact that you personally killed Becker made the rest of the family feel powerless. They depended completely on that one leader they had, as he was the cornerstone of the family after the death of the former leader," Gray said, being assertive in what he said.
Matthew smiled.
"Well, there were only three people in this Clan with abilities, and only two had more than 140,000 power. Moreover, it seems they didn't have a very good command of their Universal Paths, which doomed them very quickly."
"Yes, the Beckers were once very powerful, on a par with Edevane or Relish. But for some unknown reason, they declined considerably, in addition to focusing heavily on using the Path of Destruction, causing their powers to frequently spiral out of control, which caused them to lose powerful warriors more quickly than the other clans."
Matthew nodded. "I think I know why they changed so much."
"Oh? Why? It always intrigued me to know since it wasn't because of some hero from the past or something like that. They changed for no reason, and since then, they have declined considerably."
Matthew nodded and took something out of his storage ring. It was a dark red key, with a strange stench.
"They became protectors of one of these keys. And as they lacked total power, they decided to change their path to that of Destruction, as this would give them powers comparable to the great ones for a short period of time. It's a risky bet, but a necessary one."
