Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Secret Technique
"The Bloodline Limit is chakra with different attributes, combined in a special way to create unique abilities. Similarly, secret techniques rely on the precise combination of spiritual and physical energy," Kaitan analyzed carefully, organizing his thoughts.
For bloodline abilities, the process was widely known. However, the creation of secret techniques was shrouded in mystery, primarily because of the danger involved. The balance of mental and physical energy was critical.
Normal chakra required a one-to-one ratio of spiritual and physical energy. But for a secret technique, the ratio needed to be altered to create a unique chakra base.
This was where the danger lay. An imbalance in energy ratios could result in self-destruction. Too much physical energy could lead to spiritual exhaustion, and vice versa.
But Kaitan was determined to overcome these challenges. His first step was to prioritize a high ratio of spiritual energy. The second step was to gather knowledge from his mentor, Yamanako. As someone from a family specializing in secret techniques, Yamanako could provide invaluable guidance.
---
That evening, after finishing his daily duties, Kaitan returned home for dinner. As always, his father had prepared a hearty meal. With a full stomach and renewed energy, he reported to Yamanako's office for guidance.
Yamanako was not alone. Fourth Hokage Namikaze Minato was also there.
"Lord Hokage!" Kaitan bowed respectfully.
Minato smiled warmly. "Kaitan, I've come to hear your account firsthand. Your report caught my attention."
Kaitan nodded and began explaining in detail. Minato listened attentively, occasionally nodding. He seemed impressed by the young ninja's clarity and insight.
When Kaitan finished, Minato said, "Well done. Your observations and analysis are exceptional. You have a bright future ahead."
With those words, Minato vanished in a flash of light, leaving Kaitan momentarily stunned.
"That was the Flying Thunder God Technique," Yamanako explained with a smile. "A technique developed by the Second Hokage, but only the Fourth Hokage has mastered it."
Kaitan's eyes lit up. "I wish I could learn it too!"
"Haha, not everyone can. It's a forbidden technique, and the training is extremely dangerous. Only those approved by the Hokage can even attempt it."
Kaitan sighed but quickly shifted gears. "Boss, I have a question about secret techniques."
Yamanako's expression turned serious. "Go ahead."
Kaitan explained his goal of creating a unique secret technique. Yamanako listened carefully and, impressed by his determination, shared some insights. However, he cautioned Kaitan about the dangers.
---
In the following days, Kaitan's routine was filled with hard work and training. Although the war had ended, there was much to rebuild. Kaitan often volunteered for odd jobs, from organizing documents for Hokage to guarding Konoha's gates.
Despite his busy schedule, he devoted himself to mastering the principles of secret techniques. His Genjutsu skills also reached new heights, earning him the respect—and occasional fear—of his peers.
During sparring sessions, Kaitan's Genjutsu overwhelmed most opponents. Even the enthusiastic Shenu and the analytical Ebisu struggled against him.
But there was one rival Kaitan couldn't yet defeat—Kakashi.
---
Clang!
Kakashi's blade deflected Kaitan's kunai and stopped just short of his neck.
"You lost," Kakashi said calmly.
Kaitan sighed and raised his hands in defeat. "Still can't beat you, Kakashi."
"You rely too much on your Genjutsu," Kakashi replied, his Sharingan spinning lazily.
"Hey, ninjas are supposed to use their brains!" Kaitan retorted with a grin.
Kakashi remained silent, but his Sharingan glinted as if acknowledging the challenge.
"Next time, though," Kaitan said confidently, "your Sharingan won't save you."
Kakashi raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? And how do you plan to do that?"
"You'll see," Kaitan replied cryptically.
Nearby, Shenu cheered loudly. "Kakashi, you're amazing! I'll run five laps around Konoha to celebrate your victory!"
Kaitan rolled his eyes. Shenu's exuberance was almost as exhausting as the sparring session. Even Kakashi seemed slightly annoyed.
As Shenu dashed off, Kaitan looked up at the sky. The chaotic events of the Nine-Tails attack were approaching, and he knew he had to prepare for what was coming.
---
Kaitan's determination to develop a secret technique only grew stronger. He delved deeper into research, experimenting with different ratios of spiritual and physical energy. Each attempt brought him closer to success.
His hard work began to pay off. During a sparring session with Kakashi, Kaitan surprised everyone by holding his own for an extended period. Even Kakashi had to admit he was impressed.
But Kaitan knew there was still much to learn. He couldn't afford to become complacent. With the looming threat of the Nine-Tails, he resolved to push his limits even further.
Konoha's future depended on the strength of its ninjas, and Kaitan was determined to be one of its strongest defenders.
