Chapter 128: Almost An Accident, And Time To Un-Exile
"Huaa..." Rael yawned, slowly sitting up.
I got knocked the fuck out, damn, he thought, his hangover practically bonking him over the head every second.
He realized he was in a massive bed, and beside him was none other than Zafira.
She was quietly and peacefully snoring, and he could see her exposed shoulders.
It was clear she was without clothes. However, upon realizing that, Rael froze.
Did we sleep together...? Rael frowned.
This was definitely not how he wanted their first time to be.
Drunk and forgotten—it just sucked.
But as he looked down at his own body, he realized that aside from his shirt, he still had pants on. At the same time, the bed was clean.
Way too clean for two drunk people to clean up by themselves.
Okay. So we didn't sleep together. Rael let out a relieved sigh as he got out of the bed and bought a random shirt.
This looked like the master bedroom since it was the size of nearly half the throne room.
Despite that, Rael paced around the room, making sure there wasn't anything lying around.
And thankfully, everything was perfect.
Since Zafira looked like she was still going to sleep for a while, Rael bought a note and pen, wrote down where he was going, and left it right on his side of the bed.
Obviously, he wasn't leaving the mansion yet, but given its size, he decided to tell her he was heading to the kitchen.
The last thing he remembered was that they watched two movies, then he bought some strong alcohol, chugged a few bottles with Zafira, and...
Blank. I woke up next to a half-naked Zafira in bed... Rael sighed as he finally found the kitchen.
All utilities worked as they should, and even the fridge was packed to the brim with stuff.
Therefore, he cooked some bacon and eggs for himself and Zafira.
After all, he could already hear her footsteps in the distance, and from what he could tell, she was running toward him.
As he turned around, he was met with a red-faced Zafira who had a black bathrobe on.
"R-Rael..." Zafira muttered, approaching him slowly. "W-We didn't do it... right?"
"I don't think so," Rael replied plainly, handing her a plate of food. "But I think you should... check yourself, just in case."
Zafira flinched as she set the food down and ran into a nearby bathroom.
Then, not even a minute later, she ran back, relief written all over her face.
"We're safe..." she said, sitting down beside him and devouring her food.
"Yeah, remind me not to buy very strong alcohol next time. It seems like both of us are lightweights when it comes to stuff like this," Rael remarked with a smile as he patted her head.
"Mhm..." Zafira nodded. "Though I am feeling a little sore..."
Rael froze, and the moment he did, Zafira let out a giggle.
"I'm just kidding~"
"You nearly gave me a heart attack..." Rael replied, rubbing his temples.
"What? Is the idea that unthinkable to you?" Zafira asked teasingly.
Rael scoffed and stuffed a piece of bacon into her mouth.
"Zafira, in case you didn't notice, I like you. But I wouldn't want our first time to be meaningless."
She smiled. "I guess putting my trust in you wasn't a mistake after all."
"If you say so." Rael shrugged and began eating, while also occasionally giving Zafira a piece of his food.
Nonetheless, the two soon finished eating, and now, it was time for the real talk.
"I know I might've sprung it on you, and I don't expect you to agree to live here. After all, you have a giant palace," Rael said, scratching his cheek. "But if you ever want to hang out or are feeling tired, feel free to use anything you want in this mansion. It's all yours."
A moment of silence ensued as Zafira stood up and went to the other side of the table.
She ran her fingers along the counter, and once she finally arrived, she merely giggled.
"I don't mind living here, but how exactly are we going to get up or down to this place?" Zafira asked.
Instead of answering, Rael just motioned for her to follow.
He walked back toward the spiral staircase, which was like a simple crack in the middle of this giant translucent room.
Nonetheless, Rael extended his hand toward Zafira, who, despite being puzzled, took it.
Then, he proceeded to simply walk into the dark spiral staircase. However, instead of having to climb back up, they were immediately teleported to the very top.
Zafira's throne was in perfect shape, and the spiral staircase leading down was nowhere to be seen.
However, the back of her throne was glowing, and there was a tiny blue star sigil etched into the back.
He let go of her hand and began explaining.
"Those who enter that room can come and go whenever they want. If you want to be teleported down, press your finger against the blue star sigil, and if you want to go up, then simply walk inside."
"Wow..." Zafira muttered, shocked. "This really is amazing... and to think it was right below... above..."
"Yeah, you should save those thoughts for later. I don't even know how it works myself," Rael finished with a chuckle.
They had their fun, but as always, it was time to get back to work.
There were around five days left until the players got kicked off the beta test, and during that time, he wanted to set up a few things.
With everything settling down, he wanted to kickstart his group, Synthex, with the Faceless One, Zareth.
However, as he patted Zafira's head and was prepared to leave, he suddenly halted.
"Right... let's un-exile your parents, shall we?"
"I thought you forgot." Zafira teased and began walking toward a room off to the side.
From what he remembered, it was supposed to be the room where all documents were being kept.
Yet as she swung the doors open, Rael could only stare in shock.
Stacks upon stacks, and tens of towers formed out of documents.
"There's more in the back," Zafira said with a hum. "So you said you had a way to speed things up? Believe me, I'm all ears."
Rael focused up and grinned. "Yep, give me just a sec..."
