Chapter 216: Teleportation, Level Up, and Hard Choice
"Anath?" Rael called out, causing her to halt.
"...Rael? Where did you go? I've been looking for you for the past hour... I thought you left me," Anath replied, trembling slightly.
"Well... you weren't exactly too far away from the city, so I'm sure you would have found your way there eventually," Rael remarked.
She sent him a small glare. "And what if I had walked to the neighboring kingdom?"
"Then you'd just have shit luck, Anath," Rael replied, walking up to her. "Anyhow, ready to be teleported?"
"Huh...? You weren't kidding?" Anath asked, puzzled.
"Of course not. I'm a man of my word. Most of the time, anyway," Rael said, then suddenly picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder. "Are you ready?"
She seemed surprised, but still nodded. "Uh... yes—!?"
Before she could even finish her words, Rael kicked off the ground, covering a distance of several kilometers in a single step.
He was so fast, in fact, that he could take a single step in the air, almost like a double jump, until landing on the sand once more and repeating the process.
But he didn't need to repeat it long, since just 40 seconds later, he finally arrived back at Aurenveil.
"Ta-da~" Rael said playfully, then jumped onto a nearby building and began slowly making his way to the castle.
She did seem a little too quiet, though.
"Anath?" Rael called out, setting her down gently.
Yet instead of responding, she merely collapsed to the ground, foam coming out of her mouth.
"Whoops..." Rael sighed. Well... at least I managed to save a few million by not teleporting... but still...
Because she was in no state to be taken to the castle, he decided to take a break.
After all, he had just gotten a massive influx of stats, so he really needed to raise his level.
Therefore...
<Would you like to convert 600,000,000 Trell into 300,000,000 Experience? Yes/No>
He would still have around 500 million Trell remaining, so without hesitation, he pressed yes.

<Premium Perk Selection - Available!>
<You may choose a perk!>
1. Premium Reset [Special-Unique]—Spend currency to reset all cooldowns or cure status ailments instantly.
2. Premium Inheritance [Special-Unique]—Buy the latent legacy of a powerful bloodline, ancient weapon style, or forbidden art. Once bought, it can be mastered through trials. This perk is not connected to the Premium Shop.
3. Premium Bounty [Special-Unique]—Place a bounty using currency. A mysterious force will hunt your target, regardless of distance or power.
Ahh... fuck. Rael frowned.
These choices were harder than all his previous ones combined.
He could easily see himself using any of these perks. But at this point in time, he needed something that would strengthen his foundation.
Because of that, he could rule out Premium Bounty. It was too vague, and the only use he could find for it would be espionage.
And now, he had to choose between Premium Reset and Premium Inheritance.
If he were to choose Premium Reset, then he could potentially stock up on overpowered high-cooldown skills and use them rapidly. Even his Radiant Transformation, which doubled his stats for a minute, would be overpowered.
But then again, that would make him overly reliant on skills.
Yes, they were a big part of Sketa Online, and yes, they were a big part of his current life too.
But what if someone could disable all his skills? That would literally render him useless.
And my guess is... the more enemies I make, the more creative ways they'll find to kill me... Rael thought with a sigh. Maybe there are some items or skills to avoid that...
He scanned through the Premium Shop and realized there were quite a few skills that could give him partial usage of his skills even if disabled.
Retaining 10% power is the highest I could find... It's not worth it, Rael concluded with a heavy heart, and moved on to the last perk.
Premium Inheritance. It seemed separate from the Premium Shop, which also meant it had some exclusive things unique to it.
I'd have to gather a lot of money to buy something good, I assume... but bloodlines, even back in Sketa Online, were extremely rare.
A bloodline was similar to a class or a race, but it had unique distinctions that gave him personalized abilities according to his bloodline mastery.
And of course, except for the select few, most of the people who had ascended past Grade 1 had a bloodline.
Therefore, he stopped trying to find some bullshit excuse to pick another perk and went ahead with Premium Inheritance.
<Perk Chosen! Premium Inheritance [Special-Unique]>
<Ding!>
<Premium Inheritance Available!>
<Bloodlines/Weapon Style/Forbidden Art>
<Bloodlines Selected!>
<Tier 1 ~ 10 Bloodlines available.>
<Would you like to view the bloodlines? Yes/No>
<Recommendation: To afford the Highest Tier bloodline, it is recommended the user saves up 1,000 Premium Coins (1 Trillion Trell)>
<Notice: You can have multiple bloodlines at once.>
"Oh..." Rael scratched his cheek. Yeah... I'll have to check out the cheaper bloodlines a bit later.
Anyhow, while it did pain him a little to choose this over Premium Reset, he figured it would pay off in the long run.
If anything, it was likely possible to get Premium Reset as one of the perks again. Or so he hoped.
Rael let out a sigh as he sat down on the floor and patiently waited for Anath to wake up.
And in the meantime, he wanted to check out his new Second Phase Mode option, and of course...
The Gluttony Skill.
