Chapter 234: Escaping, And Back In Celestara
A faint smirk appeared on Alcetas's face.
"Every person you've come into contact with has become a powerhouse. They are constantly under the effects of the worldly laws, so we had time to slip in undetected. Your wife's earlier stunt extended our time window drastically... though it's a pity we lost one of our own."
Alcetas approached Rael and summoned a thin blade, resting it against Rael's neck.
"You're an irregular, Rael. Your strength is unnatural, and your existence alone should be erased. Though I suppose it's a bit difficult to erase you considering you're an Outer."
Rael stared at him silently, contemplating his words.
Guess everyone knew that I'm an outer except me. Awesome.
It seemed like his massive stat gains and making others around him overpowered had come back to bite him in the ass.
He had given Linlin and Evelyn Transcendent paths and even managed to get Zafira a supreme blessing. All of them were simply overpowered, and it was no surprise that the world's laws reacted.
But from what he'd learned, he could deduce that, in time, the laws would fix themselves, albeit with a few changes.
Just as Anubis had said, it took only one person to alter a law. In this case? There were four.
Rael let out a sigh. "So, getting rid of you is going to be... difficult. Very difficult."
Alcetas chuckled. "It's strange how you're thinking that far ahead considering you're about to die, Rael."
He tensed his muscles, prepared to cleave Rael's head off.
However...
<Mental Integrity: 96% → 1%>
<Synaptic Hijack: Duration 32 seconds → 0 seconds>
<Ding!>
<Synaptic Hijack has finished!>
Alcetas's eyes widened, but before he could do anything, the mind realm collapsed.
Rael felt as if his head was about to explode, but even so, when his vision finally settled, he noticed Diederich was gone.
The only thing that remained was the halberd.
—Ancient Halberd of the Sun (Ancient)
It wasn't soulbound, so Rael picked it up and tossed it inside his inventory.
He's gone... but... Rael trailed off, glancing at the dark sky. It's really there. A portion of the prophecy came true, though Alcetas did mention one of them fell. My guess is, Zafira had something to do with it.
Rael glanced at the charging soldiers, who looked ready to finish him off.
But before they could get too close, he bought a scroll and teleported back to Celestara.
His vision distorted, and it felt like he'd vomit the last three lunches he had. But even so, after just a few seconds, his vision returned.
He stood in the outer courtyard of the palace, and not too far away, he could see a peculiar sight.
Chop-E was currently fending off ten Aztera soldiers at once. Surprisingly, it was handling them with ease.
Every time they attacked, Chop-E swung its sword and decapitated them before repositioning.
It didn't take long for Chop-E to finish them off, and the moment he finished, its gaze locked onto Rael.
Chop-E stepped forward and bowed.
And to Rael's surprise, it spoke.
"Greetings, master. It seems like you've returned safely."
"...You can talk?" Rael muttered. "I don't remember giving you a voice?"
Chop-E shook its head. "You didn't, master. Upon reaching level 200, I developed vocal cords."
Level 200? Rael's eyes widened as he went ahead and inspected Chop-E.
Name: Chop-E

"What the fuck..." Rael mumbled. I know the levels of my constructs were unlocked, but holy shit... why is he almost at my level?
It was a bit of a pity Chop-E didn't get the effect of one of his newer titles, as it only applied to the constructs he created after getting such a title.
—Crystalline Inheritance (Mythic): Constructs you create inherit +5% of your core stats.
Still, Chop-E was overpowered. Way too overpowered.
No wonder the world's laws are fucked up... I really should do something to moderate this rate of progress.
Even so, he walked up to Chop-E and patted it over the head.
"I'll make you a set of armor in a bit. How does that sound?" Rael asked.
A faint smile appeared on Chop-E's crystalline face.
"It'd be an honor, master."
"Good. Follow me for now. There are more important matters I need to deal with," Rael said, and focused on the figures in the distance.
They were Zafira, Linlin, and Evelyn. They were all chatting, and beside them was a strange golden glass cage, housing a person inside.
Rael walked up to them, amused, and only then did he realize something interesting.
Zafira's hair turned black? Huh... it looks the same as it did in the game.
As he got closer, Zafira finally noticed him. She stopped talking with the others and ran up to him.
Rael spread out his arms and waited as she fell into his embrace.
He kissed her on the forehead, then on the cheek.
"It's been a pretty hectic day, huh?" Rael remarked with a chuckle, brushing his fingers through her black hair.
"If only you knew..." Zafira sighed, glancing up at his eyes. "Hey... what was that blessing about?"
"It was just a coincidence. You don't need to worry too much," Rael replied. "But at least you're much stronger now, right?"
"True..." Zafira trailed off, then pointed at the eclipse. "Because of one of the skills I got from the blessing, I created that. It's not going back to normal either."
"It's fine. It doesn't really matter anymore," Rael said plainly. "A few people descended onto this world, and they're looking for someone. It would likely be in our best interests to find that person before they do."
Zafira nodded slowly. "I understand... I think I know who you're talking about."
"That guy," she said, pointing at the glass cage. "He claimed he had some sort of message to deliver to you, then he attacked me. But you can see how that went for him."
Rael gazed at the man's severed limbs and the four miniature swords stuck to his chest. It was clear the man had gotten beat up pretty badly.
He walked up to the cage, crouched down, tapped the glass, and waved.
"Heya."
"I heard you got something to tell me?"
