Main Quest!

Defeat Kang Sehun!

Rewards: …

Kang Sehun wiped his mouth, rolling his jaw as he rose to his feet. His eyes locked onto mine, and for the first time since he walked in, his usual arrogance faded.

He wasn't pissed off. He wasn't surprised.

He was processing.

"You can fight," he muttered, flexing his fingers.

I didn't respond. I just raised my fists.

The murmurs in the room grew louder. People were already leaning in, shifting in their seats. Some smirked, others whispered bets under their breath.

Siyeon stepped forward. "No, Sehun-," she said, voice sharp.

But she was too late.

I turned to the podium, locking eyes with the man in charge. "I'm fighting him for the spot of Boramae's representative."

The room went dead silent.

All eyes turned to the front. Navy Suit raised his glasses and adjusted the mic on the podium. He looked at Sehun, then at me.

"Are you accepting the challenge?"

Sehun's smirk returned, but there was something different in his eyes now. A glint of anger.

"Yeah," he said, rolling his shoulders. "Let's get this over with."

We were led to an open space in the center of the room. The chairs were pushed back, creating an impromptu ring. It was tradition. No mats, no referees, just a space and a fight.

Siyeon stood to the side, arms crossed, watching me closely. I rolled my shoulders, bouncing lightly on my feet.

Someone clapped their hands once. The signal.

The fight started.

I exploded forward, throwing a jab straight at his face.

He dodged… or at least, he tried to. His head tilted back, but my speed was too much. My knuckles clipped his chin, snapping his head to the side.

He barely reacted.

No stumble, no grunt. He just grinned, as if I'd given him a pat on the cheek instead of a punch.

Then he swung back.

A heavy right hook. It came fast, but I was faster. I leaned back, the wind from his punch brushing past my nose, then countered instantly. A sharp jab then straight to the centre of his body, what I assumed was his solar plexus.

Thud. Thud.

My knuckles dug into his body. I felt the impact, but there was no satisfying reaction. No sharp exhale of pain, no stagger, nothing. It was like punching a brick wall.

SS+ endurance… did it truly mean I couldn't damage his body as I was right now?

Sehun grinned wider. "That all you got?"

A sharp leap back and then I exhaled, taking the time to breathe again. A hit to his face was the only way I'd be able to get any meaningful damage in and since he was taller and out of reach… I needed a distraction. I needed him to think I'd only attack his body.

He surged forward at the same time I circled around, firing off jabs and straights whenever I moved. I was faster than him physically and combined with the extra boost the skills gave, they were unavoidable at his current level.

I could hit him whenever I wanted but the punches caused no damage. Meanwhile he couldn't land a hit in retur-

Pain exploded across my ribs.

I barely saw it coming. A body shot, thrown so fast and with such brutal force that my vision blurred for half a second.

I sucked in a sharp breath, stumbling back, but he didn't let me go.

He grabbed the collar of my bomber jacket, yanking me forward as his knee drove into my gut.

My body folded.

I gasped, but there was no time to recover. His elbow crashed down onto my back like a hammer, sending me to the floor.

A deep murmur rippled through the room.

"You think that just because you're slightly faster… I can't hit you?"

He grabbed a fistful of my hair, pulling me up to eye level whilst moving his arm back for another punch.

"Think again."

Crack!

The exact same place he'd hit me before, exploded in pain again as I got sent flying back, back bouncing off the floor again as I ate concrete, or whatever the damn room was made of.

"Where's all that hot shit from before?" He cracked his knuckles, stepping forward. Deliberate. Unrushed. Unbothered.

"I thought you challenged me?"

The voices around us were growing louder. I could hear the murmurs of the Bully Council members, their interest piqued, their amusement evident.

I couldn't get up. Fuck, I already had to use it so soon?"

Healing Bean.

I bit down, crushing the small item and my body surged back into normal, the pain disappearing as my body rebuilt itself anew.

Of course, he didn't know that. So I staggered back into a standing position, making it seem like I could barely take a step forward.

Sehun had turned around to the crowd. "I'm the Representative of Boramae from now on. Anyone got a problem with tha-"

He turned to see my staggering and stumbling.

"Wait, you still want to go? You're gonna regret this, you know."

A light shove to my shoulder and I pretended to fall to one knee.

He looked behind himself at Siyeon. "Hey, your boyfriend's going to die if he's not carefu-"

354 pounds of teenage boy exploded off the ground.

He turned after sensing something wrong and for the second time…

… my fist met his face.

The granite cracked.

Sehun's head snapped back, his body going rigid as pure force blasted through his skull.

For a moment, he didn't move.

I used that moment for all I could, I had 5 seconds of S-rank strength and I fired jabs and straights everywhere that I could see.

Straight. His jaw cracked sideways. Jab His body lurched backward. Straight. It drove his head back into the stuffy-ass room and before he could even process the pain, I was already moving again.

[Time Remaining: 1 Second.]

I twisted my hips. Pivoted my foot. Threw my entire torso, shoulder, and weight into the final punch.

[Skill Activated: Attack Card—Straight(Rank C → B!)] UP!

CRACK.

A right straight slammed into his temple. His feet left the ground. His body twisted, his head snapping to the side as his arms flailed

Then, like a tree finally cut down-

Thud.

He collapsed.

The room was silent.

[Strength: S- → B+]

[Endurance: A- → C-]

I stumbled back, chest heaving, my lungs feeling like they'd been set on fire. Sweat dripped from my face, my arms shaking.

Sehun lay sprawled on the floor, his eyes rolled back into his head, the whites almost threatening to pop out of his head.

You have defeated Kang Sehun Boramae's Granite!
