Reawakening: Primordial Dragon with Limitless Mana

Chapter 71: Don't hold back

"We're here," Hades murmured, giving the girl in his arms a gentle nudge.

Outside, the sky had already darkened, and the carriage came to a slow halt.

The other passengers began to shuffle out, their footsteps and murmurs filling the quiet.

The only other woman in the carriage glanced at them and said, "Stay safe. Don't get scammed."

Hades gave her a polite nod, then felt a faint stir against his chest.

Luna's lashes fluttered before she slowly blinked herself awake. "We… reached?" she mumbled, rubbing her eyes.

Hades couldn't stop the small smile tugging at his lips. She looked so endearing half-asleep like this.

He reached out to smooth her slightly messy hair, his touch lingering. "Yes," he said softly. "Let's find an inn so you can rest properly."

Luna leaned into his hand with a content little smile, as if savoring the warmth.

For a moment, they sat there in a peaceful silence that didn't need words.

But, as always, it didn't last.

"*Ahem.*"

They both turned to see the carriage driver standing nearby—smiling in a way that wasn't quite a smile.

Without exchanging a single word, they decided it was best to leave.

Stepping out of the carriage, they were greeted by a serene sight.

It wasn't too late in the evening, yet the streets were quiet, dotted with only a handful of people.

A few soldiers wandered about—some on patrol, others guiding travelers who had just arrived. Their polished armor caught the faint glow of the street lamps, casting small glimmers onto the cobblestone path.

The insignia of the nation was shining brightly on their armour, telling them that they are in foreign lands.

Hades glanced toward the carriage driver, who was busy securing the canvas over the roof. "How far is Samaran City from here?" he asked.

The driver straightened and pointed north. "Half a mile's walk will take you to a grand entrance. Pay them two silver coins, and you can step inside the most ancient city of Torseque."

Hades thanked him with a nod, then looked around. The air carried a mild chill, and the faint hum of the distant city seemed to call them forward.

"It's too late to explore now," he said after a moment. "Let's find an inn for the night."

Luna, rubbing her arms for warmth, nodded right away. "Yes, let's do that." Ever since stepping out of the carriage, she had felt the cold seeping into her bones.

Hades extended his hand toward her. "Here. Hold this. It might help."

She smiled shyly. "Thank you." Her small hands wrapped around his, pressing them close to her chest.

Hades quickly looked away before his gaze wandered somewhere it shouldn't. He cleared his throat and began walking.

They tried a few inns along the main street, but most were already full.

At last, down a narrow alley, they came across an inn that looked questionable from the outside—but inside, it was clean and neatly kept.

"Ten silver a day. Breakfast and warm water included," the receptionist informed them.

Hades placed twenty silver on the counter. "Two days. Thank you."

Since the place felt a little too quiet for comfort, they decided to share a room. Naturally, Hades asked Luna three times if she was sure about it, and each time, she nodded without a hint of hesitation.

After all, how could she possibly miss the chance to share a room with the man of her life?

Back at the previous inn, they had barely managed to fall asleep at the same time. One of them was always awake—either Luna watching over him, or Hades watching over her.

But tonight was different. Tonight, they were both tired… and they would be sharing the same bed.

And now that they had finally confessed their feelings to each other, Hades surely wouldn't mind if she got just a little… playful.

'Unfortunately, all my luggage burned during the attack…' she sighed in disappointment.

Back in Bavech, her bag had been lost in the fire—along with the dress she had wanted to wear just for Hades.

But, but, but… they were still going to sleep in the same bed. That was progress.

'Once we're under the covers, I'll say, "Let me warm you up, Hades," and when he hugs me… fufufu~'

Hades glanced at the silver-haired girl beside him, puzzled by the sudden sparkle in her eyes. Did she like the inn that much?

Luna was grinning from ear to ear as they stepped into the room—only for her smile to instantly freeze when she saw what awaited her.

Two. Single. Beds.

"…What is this?" Luna asked, staring blankly.

Hades tilted his head. "Is there something wrong?"

She looked at him… and found not the faintest hint of disappointment on his face. Not a single wrinkle of a frown.

He wasn't thinking 'anything' about this at all.

How bold… how shameless… of her!

"It's nothing…" Luna muttered, moving toward her bed. She set her small luggage down by the side, then slipped under the duvet. "We should sleep early. Tomorrow's a big day."

Hades gave a short nod, though his eyes followed her for a moment longer.

…It wasn't as if he was clueless. In truth, he was a little grateful for the two separate beds.

His attraction toward her had been climbing to dangerous heights, where even a glance or a casual touch could send a sharp heat through his chest.

The smallest gestures—the way she rubbed her arms when cold, the faint curl of her lips when she smiled—made his heart pound. Something deep inside him burned for her warmth.

He… was craving her. And he didn't want her to know.

They had only just begun. They needed time—at least a few dates—before stepping into that territory.

Patience, Hades… Don't scare her off, he reminded himself, forcing his hands to stay still as he switched off the lamp.

The room was swallowed by darkness.

In the quiet, every sound seemed louder—the faint rustle of her duvet, the soft exhale of her breath, the subtle shift of her weight as she settled in. Even from the other bed, he could feel her presence like a faint warmth in the air.

He stared at the ceiling, trying to slow his racing heartbeat, but the tension between them lingered—heavy, electric, impossible to ignore.

Just then… he felt movement from his right.

Hades slowly turned his head—and froze.

There she was. Luna.

Her silver hair framed her flushed face, her gaze shyly cast to the side. But his eyes… his eyes didn't stop at her face.

"…Luna," he breathed, his voice low, almost trembling, as he rose from his bed.

In the dim glow spilling through the curtains, her bare form was bathed in soft light, every curve outlined with a quiet elegance that made his chest tighten. His pulse pounded in his ears, each second feeding the heat that coiled in his body.

"You…" he growled, his voice thick, "…are making this very hard for me. If you do this… I won't be able to stop myself."

Luna stepped closer, her bare feet soundless against the floor, until the space between them disappeared. Her fingers found his hand, warm and trembling, and guided it up… resting it gently against her cheek.

Her eyes fluttered closed as she leaned into his touch, her breath brushing against his skin.

"Then…" she whispered, her voice like silk in the quiet room, "…who said you need to hold back?"

Her eyes lifted to meet his, steady now, her lips curving in the faintest, most inviting smile.

"I'm all yours, Hades."
