Chapter 527: Chapter 527: First Encounter with the Daughter of the God of Light
The God of Sun and Fire has fallen into the abyss, his demise executed by an unknown entity.
Upon hearing this news, the gods turned their attention to the incident. However, with the ongoing Dawn War against the Primeval Gods, they couldn't afford to focus extensively on it. They merely probed the situation briefly. Finding little valuable information, they temporarily set it aside.
Like many deities, Garon did the same.
He didn't delve too deeply into the matters concerning the God of Sun and Fire. After all, he was merely of moderate divine power, not suitable to interfere in affairs involving higher tiers of power beyond the Prime Material Plane.
The wings of the Time Dragon and the Sun Wing danced together, radiating dazzling, blinding brilliance.
Garon felt the power of his newly acquired Sun Dominion, his gaze sweeping across various Prime Material Worlds, eager to test its effects.
"Having just acquired it, my use of the Sun Dominion is not yet proficient."
"Let's find a weak Primeval God to practice with first."
With this thought in mind, Garon focused on a particular Prime Material World, targeting a Primeval God with minor divine power.
In one of the Prime Material Worlds.
A Primeval God, resembling a wolf with a body cloaked in flames, its back adorned with long, flowing fiery ribbons, was wreaking havoc and destruction.
Due to the gods being at a disadvantage on both the weak and moderate divine power battlefronts, a few Primeval Gods found themselves without divine adversaries, allowing them to unleash their power freely, causing widespread calamities.
Such was the case with this Primeval God.
This fiery demonic wolf, Flanna, a Primeval God of minor divine power, had no significant achievements to its name in the first Dawn War, having been swiftly killed by the gods. It was considered relatively weak among the Primeval Gods.
However, even a weaker Primeval God, upon descending into an ordinary Prime Material World without divine interference, was nearly invincible.
Flanna had chosen a small world akin to the continent of Noah, devoid of any demigods, where it could ravage unchallenged.
At this moment.
The fiery demonic wolf stood atop a towering peak, raising its head high amidst the fearful gazes of countless beings. It spewed forth a torrent of flames, which transformed into numerous fiery wolves mid-air, rampaging and burning through creatures and material alike.
Awooooo!
Satiated by the rare indulgence in its destructive desires, the fiery demonic wolf howled with unprecedented joy, its neck arched back in a long, triumphant howl.
Suddenly, a sense of unease surged through its being.
Even at its minor divine power level, the Primeval God had sharp instincts for danger. Sensing this unease, the fiery demonic wolf halted its howl, glancing around warily.
"Has a god descended?"
Flanna sought to identify the source of its unease.
In the next moment, its questions were answered.
A radiant light suddenly burst forth from the sky, dispelling the dark night. The brilliant, all-encompassing light was akin to a pair of wings that spanned the heavens.
Alert and standing tall on the mountain peak, the fiery demonic wolf gazed skyward.
The luminous wings then folded, converging onto a massive silver dragon that appeared in the Prime Material World. The dragon radiated dazzling light, reflecting off its silver-gray scales.
This dragon was majestic, with three pairs of grand, crown-like horns on its head, adorned with a crown of thorny flowers. Mysterious black rings of scales were scattered across its body.
Particularly eye-catching were the dragon's two pairs of wings.
One pair of wings was covered in ring-like patterns that, when moved, caused the river of time to ripple, evoking a sense of endless time.
The other pair, newly formed and unlike any seen before, was composed of blinding light, radiating infinite heat and light, like a pair of solar wings.
"Garon Aurelian!"
Recognizing the creature that had descended, the fiery demonic wolf's pupils shrank, and its flame-like fur bristled.
Despite the addition of the Sun Wings, the silver dragon's overall appearance hadn't changed much, making it easily recognizable.
"Why do I have to encounter Garon Aurelian... This is bad."
The Primeval God was deeply troubled.
It had information about Garon, knowing he typically targeted Primeval Gods of at least moderate divine power. To date, he had never personally taken on one with minor divine power.
"It seems I'm the first..."
For a moment, Flanna couldn't decide whether to feel honored or unlucky.
Although, in the Prime Material World, the planar rules suppressed them both to the level of top-tier demigods, there was still no comparison between them.
To illustrate, using a certain amount of supernatural divine power in the Prime Material World, a being of minor divine power could produce effects rated as ten. However, under the same conditions, a being of moderate divine power could achieve a hundred.
Under normal circumstances.
Even in the Prime Material World, a being of great divine power could easily crush one of moderate divine power, and one of moderate divine power could easily defeat one of minor divine power. This was largely because the inherent level of existence typically represented one's status.
Garon could defeat Primeval Gods of quasi-great divine power in the Prime Material World because he was destined to become a being of quasi-great divine power, wielding abilities not inferior to true great divine power entities.
A being of minor divine power surpassing its level to defeat a moderate divine power in the Prime Material World would be an exceptional case, such as Garon, the still-developing Time Dragon.
However, beings like the Time Dragon were exceedingly rare across the multiverse.
"Run!"
Flanna decided immediately and fled without hesitation.
Its entire body, covered in fiery fur, blazed as it lifted its head, snapping at the void.
Whoosh!
A wolf's head made of flames appeared, its fiery form clear, with every hair and its ferocious fangs menacingly biting towards the planar barrier.
Seeing this, the silver dragon, bathed in sunlight, shook his head, muttering, "Why does everyone run as soon as they see me? What if I'm coming with good intentions?"
Crunch!
The flame wolf's head bit into the planar barrier.
However, instead of shattering the barrier, the fiery wolf's fangs crumbled against the indestructible wall.
The dragon-scale-like patterns of time emerged faintly on the planar barrier.
With a sinking heart, the fiery demonic wolf looked up.
In its vision, the silver dragon's four wings spread wide, dominating the sky. The oppressive aura of dragon might and divine power filled the air, making the wolf feel utterly overpowered.
"Using you as a target to test my Sun Dominion."
"This is an honor for you."
The silver dragon spoke quietly, his expression calm.
Simultaneously, under Garon's will, the Sun Wings extended far beyond the Time Wings, spanning over ten thousand meters, shining brilliantly, emitting boundless sunlight.
The sun's rays covered the land.
Naturally, Flanna's body was enveloped in the sunlight.
Whoosh!
A white-hot flame spontaneously ignited, engulfing the fiery demonic wolf, melting its fiery fur at a visible rate.
Flanna howled in agony.
It channeled its primordial power, its fur ablaze, desperately trying to counteract the searing white flames from the Sun Wings.
Garon watched the struggling demonic wolf and flapped his Sun Wings.
Hiss, hiss, hiss... Sharp, white-hot feathers forged from the Sun's brilliance descended, their edges as sharp as swords, radiating intense heat and a soft glow. They blanketed the sky, precisely targeting the fiery demonic wolf.
The earlier burst of white-hot light was merely a basic capability of the Sun Dominion, not even a true expression of its power.
To truly unleash the dominion's power, one must master it proficiently, developing skills to utilize it effectively.
The more one masters and becomes skilled with a dominion, the stronger the abilities developed from it will be.
Having just acquired the Sun Dominion, Garon was not yet proficient.
However, with his extensive experience in magical research and exploration of time power, he quickly devised a simple skill using the dominion.
Sun Dominion: Blazing Sword Feathers.
Although a basic skill, it was stronger than the fundamental Sunlight.
Seeing the myriad of blazing feathers descending upon it, Flanna tucked its tail and fled, leaving fiery marks in the air, its form a blazing streak darting and weaving through space.
Yet, all its movements were clear to Garon.
In fact, Garon had already predicted its next move before the wolf itself knew.
Unable to hide its actions, Flanna could not escape Garon's targeting.
Hiss, hiss, hiss!
A few seconds of futile escape later, the wolf was pierced by the sun's feathers, tearing through its fiery fur and embedding deep within its body.
Wounded, Flanna's movements slowed momentarily, allowing more feathers to rain down, embedding in its flesh.
In an instant, the fiery demonic wolf was transformed into a porcupine, its body covered in sharp, blazing feathers.
Its vitality weakened, staggering as it appeared to be filled with the unbearable, inextinguishable white flames, leaving it in a severely weakened state.
In the sky.
Garon extended his claw and snapped his fingers.
Crack, crack, crack... Time Amber manifested, extending to envelop the Primeval God pierced by the sun's feathers, sealing it completely.
The Time Amber shrank and flew into Garon's claw, captured effortlessly.
Playing with the Time Amber, Garon mused.
"The Sun Dominion is indeed powerful. Even with my initial grasp and basic skill, I managed to defeat a Primeval God," Garon pondered, turning the Time Amber in his claw.
"This Primeval God wasn't particularly strong, but my use of the Sun Dominion isn't proficient yet either."
"It's a pity that wielding the dominion requires extraordinary divine power. My current level is still insufficient to fully harness the true potential of the Sun Dominion."
Garon's divine rank was currently fourteen, still shy of reaching fifteen, the peak of moderate divine power.
Moreover, his own life force hadn't yet reached the pinnacle of quasi-moderate divine power, making them roughly equivalent.
"If I perform exceptionally well in this Dawn War, perhaps I can elevate to the peak of moderate divine power by its conclusion," Garon mused. "With the Sun Dominion, I might even touch the threshold of great divine power."
This war against the Primeval Gods was not merely a struggle for survival between two races; it was a multiversal crisis. All sentient beings in the multiverse cowered in fear and despair under the onslaught of the Primeval Gods. In this context, every deity who distinguished themselves in the Dawn War would gain significant devotion.
Faith was never confined to a single race of beings.
However, the bulk of a god's followers usually came from their own race.
Now, with the Dragon God Pantheon leading the charge against the Primeval Gods, dispelling the prejudices of intelligent beings against dragons, Garon's leadership inherently attracted more devotion.
In truth, due to the Dragon Pantheon's establishment of the Pantheon Hall, their leading role in countering the Primeval Gods, and the shift in public opinion influenced by the gods, many intelligent races began to view the Dragon Gods favorably, acknowledging their rightful dominion.
Garon could sense that the faith directed towards him was growing.
This was happening despite the widespread destruction across many Prime Material Worlds and the massive loss of life. When the war ended and peace returned, the influx of faith towards him would only increase.
War, though dangerous, also presented opportunities.
"With the Sun Dominion, the Dragon God may reach great divine power, and I, a quasi-moderate divine power, may soon approach the pinnacle."
"At that point, I will truly stand at the summit of the multiverse."
Garon felt a sense of anticipation.
After a moment of indulging in his thoughts, Garon refocused. He needed to continue refining and developing his mastery of the Sun Dominion through real combat.
His next targets would be Primeval Gods with quasi-moderate divine power. The minor divine power Primeval Gods were insufficient to thoroughly test and develop his Sun Dominion skills due to their relative weakness.
Garon himself was a quasi-moderate divine power being.
With that in mind, he re-entered the battlefield of quasi-moderate divine power.
Some time later.
Crack, crack, crack... The Time Amber condensed, sealing a Primeval God resembling a massive beetle, trapped within a sphere of blazing sunlight.
"Run, run, run... All they ever do is run."
"Can't they show some courage?"
Garon exhaled, tucking away the Time Amber.
The Primeval God he had just sealed was the first quasi-moderate divine power entity he defeated using the Sun Dominion. Since he rarely employed his time manipulation abilities, it took considerable effort for Garon to subdue this opponent.
Especially considering it, like other Primeval Gods, was unwilling to engage Garon directly.
Upon Garon's descent, its immediate reaction was to flee.
When an opponent is solely focused on escape, even Garon found it time-consuming and taxing to capture and seal them.
Though somewhat troublesome, Garon's achievements in the Dawn War were already significant.
The quasi-great divine power Primeval Sun God.
The quasi-moderate divine power entities: the Sand King, Thunder Serpent, Dying Star, and the beetle-like entity he just captured.
The quasi-minor divine power Flanna.
Garon had successfully sealed a total of six Primeval Gods.
In terms of defeating Primeval Gods, Garon's accomplishments were unparalleled, placing him at the forefront.
During this period, the Dawn War had reached a fever pitch, with battles becoming increasingly intense. On the battlefield of great divine power, both Primeval Gods and deities suffered casualties.
The Elven High God Corellon killed the Primeval God of Destruction, the Ruin Sovereign.
The God of Justice, Tyr, was decapitated and devoured by the Chaos Hound, falling in battle.
The Orc God clashed with the Death Star, leading to mutual devastation.
