Rebirth in Journey to the West: Sun Wukong

"Pangu? You bastard, here to spoil my good deeds again!"

The Demon Emperor Qiong Yu abruptly withdrew his hand, releasing Sun Wukong, and stepped back, watching the axe's edge sweep past his face, feeling its unmatched sharp destructive power, and looking ominously towards the direction the axe had come from.

There, a tall figure was walking towards him from the distant starry sky, it was Pangu.

"Qiong Yu, as long as it's something that pisses off you Chaos Demons, to me it's the most satisfying!"

Pangu's steps weren't fast, but he quickly arrived close by, and his gaze towards the Demon Emperor Qiong Yu was filled with mockery and disdain, "This little brother, I've got you covered today!"

With a wave of his hand, a beam of Chaos Qi shot out from it, forming a protective shield that enveloped Sun Wukong within.

"Great God Pangu..."

Sun Wukong struggled to glance at Pangu, his eyelids growing increasingly heavy, until finally he closed his eyes and fell into a coma.

But his body didn't stop recovering; in fact, the speed of recovery quickened considerably, the deep, bone-exposing wounds began to heal at a visible pace, and the destructive power infiltrating his body was rapidly assimilated into Chaos Primordial Force, thereby replenishing Sun Wukong's expended energy.

"Chaos Battle Body? This kid, the surprises just keep coming!"

Pangu's eyes brightened, his profound gaze filled with admiration. Previously too far away to notice, now that he was closer, he realized Sun Wukong, like him, possessed a Chaos Battle Body!

Moreover, Sun Wukong had already mastered Chaos Fire, his evolution of the Chaos Battle Body was even greater than that of Pangu's!

As Sun Wukong's injuries rapidly healed, there was no need to worry, and Pangu shifted his gaze from him, turning back to the Demon Emperor Qiong Yu.

"Demon Emperor, still want to fight? I'll spar with you?"

Pangu looked nonchalantly at the Demon Emperor Qiong Yu, lifting the Heaven-Opening Axe in his hand.

"Pangu, this is a grudge between the Chaos Demon Clan and him, why must you intervene?"

The Demon Emperor Qiong Yu's cheeks twitched as he stared at Pangu; he was so close, just a little bit more and he could have crushed Sun Wukong to death, extracted his Divine Soul for interrogation, but just at that moment, Pangu had intervened!

So close to success, yet so far!

Damn it! He wasn't willing to give up!

"Didn't I already say it? Anything that annoys you Chaos Demons, I'm all for doing! Or should I say, anything that pisses you off, Demon Emperor, I find very enjoyable!"

Pangu wore a smug, punchable smirk on his face. The Demon Emperor Qiong Yu and Sun Wukong had fought a big battle, and though Qiong Yu's injuries weren't severe, he had sustained some and expended a great amount of strength. Normally, in battles between him and the Demon Emperor Qiong Yu, although he was slightly superior, he couldn't take too much of an advantage. But today was different.

"This asshole! Taking advantage of a demon in distress!"

The Demon Emperor Qiong Yu gritted his teeth in secret; he knew that battling Pangu now was a very unwise decision, but if he let Sun Wukong go like this, and once Sun Wukong recovered, opportunities like today would be hard to come by!

If it were just because Sun Wukong had killed three Demon Gods, the Demon Emperor Qiong Yu, despite hating him to the bone, wouldn't risk it for Sun Wukong's sake. But the allure of the Chaos Fire on Sun Wukong was too compelling; to the Demon Emperor Qiong Yu, it was like a bright lantern in the dark night!

Once he had the method to refine the Chaos Fire and took control of it, he would be able to break through his current limit and ascend beyond the Demon Emperor Level to an even higher Realm. By then, what would he have to fear from Pangu?

Even several Pangu would be mere deliveries to his table!

No, he must not let this opportunity slip through his fingers, even if it meant mutual destruction, he had to capture Sun Wukong. This was crucial to his aspirations of reaching the pinnacle!

As thoughts raced through his mind, Demon Emperor Qiong Yu made up his mind, pulled out a Chaos-colored Elixir Pill and swallowed it in one gulp. Suddenly, his body seemed to turn into a Black Hole, drawing all the surrounding Chaos Qi toward him. It wildly surged into his body and was devoured by him as if by a leviathan.

"Devil Bursting Pill? Have you gone mad?"

Pangu's face drastically changed. Demon Emperor Qiong Yu had actually swallowed a Devil Bursting Pill! Did he no longer value his life?

The Devil Bursting Pill was a forbidden Elixir within the Chaos Demon Clan, capable of restoring all injuries in a short time and boosting one's Combat Power by thirty percent, but the longer the duration of the Devil Bursting Pill's effects, the stronger the backlash, which could even result in exploding and dying!

The effective duration of the Devil Bursting Pill was roughly one day, though it could be stopped by the user at any time. Generally, Demon Emperor Qiong Yu would not resort to using the Devil Bursting Pill unless absolutely necessary. This was truly a desperate move!

"Pangu, I must take this boy with me today no matter what! If you insist on hindering me, then I shall fight you to the bitter end!"

Demon Emperor Qiong Yu's veins bulged out all over his body, and his entire appearance altered, filled with ferocious hostility as he glared at Pangu and growled.

Pangu was also stubborn. Once he set his mind on something, no one could persuade him otherwise, hence his constant opposition to the Chaos Demons. Now, faced with Demon Emperor Qiong Yu's threatening words, his temper flared, his lips curling into a cold sneer as he preemptively charged at Demon Emperor Qiong Yu.

If there was going to be a fight, he would strike first!

"Demon Emperor, take this axe!"

The Heaven-Opening Axe in his hand, wrapped in a dazzling cyan light, viciously cleaved down towards the top of Demon Emperor Qiong Yu's head. Pangu never held back once he took action, no matter if Demon Emperor Qiong Yu was ready or not. Since there was a fight, it was going to be a fight to the death!

"Pangu, you don't play fair!"

Demon Emperor Qiong Yu parried the Heaven-Opening Axe with his Square Sky Halberd, his figure shaking violently as he stumbled several steps back. Once stablized, he looked at Pangu, his eyes burning with even greater anger.

"What does fairness have to do with anything at this juncture? Do you expect to observe such niceties in a life-and-death struggle? Is this your first day in the Chaos Void, Demon Emperor?"

Pangu scoffed disdainfully, his face full of shamelessness. If Sun Wukong had not been unconscious, seeing this would have completely shattered his views.

So this is the real Pangu!

As he spoke, Pangu didn't stop for a moment, his Heaven-Opening Axe continued to rain down on Demon Emperor Qiong Yu, determined to not cease until he was minced into meat.

"You've forced my hand, today I will fight you for supremacy!"

Demon Emperor Qiong Yu could see that Pangu was clearly set against him, disregarding even the dignity of a superior fighter. Thus, hardened his heart, swinging his Square Sky Halberd, he clashed with Pangu fiercely.

Their exchange was far more intense than Sun Wukong's earlier fight, with space fissures constantly forming around them, terrifying in their intensity!
