Chapter 5: Find the host of the Omni system
As Qingran drove out of the dealership, she thought of the ways she could stockpile fuel and what use did it have when the apocalypse started.
She could think of three important uses, but then again there would be a lot of system users once the apocalypse started.
She didn't remember fuel being an issue, but then again there was nothing bad about stockpile a few 100 liters.
As the saying goes "Dig the well before you are thirsty"
If she wanted to be all powerful and comfortable then she needed to gather her resources now, now that there was still time left.
[Ding! Tips on how to finance money! If host continues her spending spree. Host will be broke before the apocalypse begins!]
Qingran's lips twitched as she read the manage, she was pretty sure she would be able to spend her money wisely.
"Alright, go ahead with the tips. It better be worth my time"
[Excellent! Running all financial tips on how to spend wisely]
Gu Qingran's grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly as the system's notification flashed before her eyes.
[Tip 1: Always buy in bulk to lower the costs. Wholesale prices are significantly cheaper than retail. The larger the purchase, the more you save per unit.]
[Tip 2: Take advantage of discount seasons, clearance sales, and supplier negotiations. Many businesses offer lower prices for large orders if negotiated properly.]
Her lips curled into a smirk. So that was the system's advice?
Spend more to save more?
It wasn't wrong. The more efficiently she stretched her money now, the more supplies she could secure before everything collapsed.
"Lingquan, prioritize finding the cheapest bulk suppliers for staple foods, medicine ingredients, and fuel."
[Ding! Searching for optimal purchasing locations…]
Within seconds, a list of wholesale markets, distributor warehouses, and clearance sales within the city appeared in her vision.
Gu Qingran scanned the list, memorizing the most promising locations. There were several bulk suppliers she had yet to visit, including a warehouse liquidation sale that had just started today.
This was perfect timing.
She tapped her fingers against the wheel. "Lingquan, track ongoing price drops and alert me if any supplier starts a clearance sale."
[Ding! Task registered. Host will receive real-time notifications on price fluctuations and discount opportunities.]
Her lips curled. "Good. Now, let's make the most of this money before it becomes worthless."
With a new plan in mind, she switched lanes, heading toward the nearest wholesale market on the list.
The first stop was a large warehouse that specialized in restaurant-grade ingredients. It was a goldmine for bulk dry goods. As she walked in, a clerk immediately approached her.
"Miss, are you purchasing for a business?"
"Yes," she replied smoothly. "A large catering chain. We're stocking up in advance for long-term supply security."
The clerk nodded, taking her to the back where the real bulk purchases happened.
Unlike normal supermarkets, this place didn't deal in small portions—everything was sold in industrial-sized sacks and crates.
She ran her gaze over the options:
• 50 kg sacks of flour, sugar, and salt
• Large drums of cooking oil
• Industrial-sized boxes of pasta and dried noodles
• Bulk spice packs sealed for long-term storage
"How much can you move in one order?" she asked.
The clerk hesitated before lowering his voice. "If you're buying in high volume, we can arrange direct supplier pricing. You won't find these prices anywhere else."
Bingo.
Gu Qingran smiled, the perfect image of a businesswoman looking for a deal. "Then let's talk numbers."
An hour later, she walked out with a purchase order that would have taken up an entire warehouse on its own. Of course, she had already stored everything in her system warehouse, leaving only a few bags behind in her car to avoid suspicion.
The money she saved from direct supplier pricing had allowed her to buy 30% more than expected.
[Ding! Wise Spending Bonus Activated. 5 Gold Coins Earned.]
She smirked. "At least you know how to reward good decisions."
[Ding! Host has one unfinished task!]
[stockpile additional fuel reserves.
Reward: 30 coins.
Additional reward: System private store discount on purchase over 500 coins]
Qingran tapped her fingers against steering wheel, hauling fuel wasn't as easy as hauling food.
Someone was bound to notice, she would have to find a discreetive way to do it without raising alarm.

5:45pm
[Ding! Host has not made any progress, neither has host completed any tasks. There will be punishments if host refuses to get his ass of the chair. With 28 days left, if host fails to find HOST GQ and System Omni, host will receive serious backlash!!]
"Shut up.."
The man massaged his temples as he glanced at the system interface tiredly.
"Caocao find the top 10 possible host for the Omni system and get back to me…"
[Ding! System is unable to process command.
Reasons: System Omni has blocked access to other systems.]
"Fucking hell, how am I supposed to find them!"
The glowing orb finding came out of its hiding place, with the emote of sweat on its face.
[Ding! Sorry for the inconvenience. But Host cannot survive the apocalypse without the host of the Omni system]
His fingers curled into a fist. "So, I'm supposed to find them blindly? You're seriously not making things easy for me"
The glowing orb floating beside him hesitated, its small frame dimming slightly.
[Ding! Alternative method available.]
"Speak."
[If Host establishes direct contact, System Omni's restrictions may weaken. Analysis suggests the target is already making significant preparations for the apocalypse. Their movements will eventually draw attention soon enough.]
The man scoffed, leaning back. "Meaning, I have to wait for them to slip up?"
[Ding! Affirmative..]
He clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Waiting wasn't quite his style.
"Then cast a net. Monitor high-volume purchases—food, medicine, fuel. Anyone buying at an unnatural rate will stand out."
[Ding! Command acknowledged. Running all data scans now.]
His lips curled into a smirk, dark amusement flickering in his gaze.
"Let's see who finds who first."
