Chapter 241: Orochimaru's Contempt, Who Is the Final Winner? (BONUS)
After intercepting the Rinnegan, Orochimaru was only happy for a moment before immediately forming a hand seal.
The Ten Tails, which had been roaring at the sky, flowed into Orochimaru's body from behind like water, encountering no resistance whatsoever.
Then, an enormous surge of chakra erupted from Orochimaru's body, and the shockwave blew the already seriously injured Obito away to an unknown location.
However, Orochimaru had no intention of paying attention to a dying ant. An intoxicated smile appeared on his face as he felt his strength grow and the essence of life transform.
Orochimaru's appearance also underwent a drastic change.
Compared to Obito, Orochimaru's Six Paths form appeared much more normal. There were no inhuman organs protruding from his body, and his magatama robe was more complete, not fused into his flesh.
This showed that his suppression and control over the Ten Tails was stronger than that of Obito.
This wasn't just due to the dual Rinnegan, but also because of Orochimaru's meticulous cultivation of his own body.
Unlike the ordinary White Zetsu Obito used to repair his body, Orochimaru's reincarnated body had been injected with a large amount of Hashirama cells.
With the presence of a universal catalyst, the Ten Tails' resistance naturally became much weaker.
"Orochimaru!"
A roar came from above, and two spears of immortal lightning shot down toward Orochimaru.
Sasuke rushed over in a Gundam-sized Susanoo. When he saw that Orochimaru had replaced Uchiha Obito as the Ten Tails' Jinchūriki and had both Rinnegan, he didn't even bother trying to finish Obito off and attacked Orochimaru directly.
"Shinra Tensei!"
A repulsive force exploded behind Orochimaru, rejecting everything around him. It not only knocked away the lightning spears, but also sent Sasuke's Susanoo flying.
A Truth-Seeking Ball flew out at high speed, tearing through the hundred-meter-tall Susanoo Titan within seconds before flying back behind Orochimaru.
After doing all this, Orochimaru flew toward the location of the God Tree without looking back.
"Sasuke, haven't you learned your lesson yet?"
A mocking voice came from behind. Without needing to turn around, Sasuke knew who would dare to ridicule him at a time like this. He punched the ground angrily and complained with frustration:
"Yami-sensei, this is so unfair!"
"As long as someone becomes the Ten Tails' Jinchūriki, they get to transform. Even a Perfect Susanoo can't match them. Naruto at least had to go through years of hard training to reach that level. Why can Orochimaru and Obito just skip everything?"
Yami couldn't help but laugh.
Hanging it on the wall felt unbalanced.
Normally, it was others who envied the Uchiha's Sharingan, but now it was Sasuke's turn to envy the Ten Tails' Jinchūriki.
Patting Sasuke's not-so-bright head, Yami flew off in pursuit of Orochimaru.
"Everything has a price. What you think is a shortcut is just a sweet temptation."
Sasuke was stunned, looking at Yami's quickly fading figure. Suddenly, a thought struck him.
This Rinnegan… could it be that Yami gave it to Orochimaru on purpose?
Naruto, who had been eager to rush in for the final blow, along with Minato and Kakashi who were chasing him, was forced to retreat to the area near the God Tree.
Madara had been resurrected, and now Orochimaru had suddenly become the Ten Tails' Jinchūriki.
Many people had been ready to celebrate at halftime, but now they were starting to panic again.
Hashirama, who was being closely watched by Tobirama and Tsunade, clicked his tongue.
"Madara really got resurrected. This was his plan all along. He truly is smart and powerful."
"Big Brother!"
Tobirama was very annoyed. "Are you out of your mind again? Why are you still speaking up for that evil Uchiha?"
"Shouldn't you be scared? That man's ambition doesn't end even in death. If it weren't for Yami's existence, the entire ninja world would be in danger this time."
Tsunade nodded repeatedly in agreement.
This great-grandfather of hers really seemed to lose his senses whenever Madara was involved.
Tsunade even muttered under her breath, "If you guys were really such good friends, then why did you stab him with a sword back then?"
Hashirama, who had been smiling awkwardly at Tobirama's words, had his smile freeze on his face.
We really can't keep this granddaughter around. Every word she says is a stab to the heart.
"Orochimaru…"
Even though he couldn't see it, Madara could clearly sense that Orochimaru had taken the lead and become the second… no, the third Sage of Six Paths. His chest heaved with anger, and his face darkened.
"Madara-sama, please make do with this for now."
A White Zetsu emerged from the ground, dragging Obito's Sharingan with it and helping Madara reinstall it.
After the one-eyed Uchiha regained his sight, he locked his gaze onto Orochimaru, as if he wished to devour him and the Ten Tails whole.
Orochimaru also sensed the hostile gaze. He slightly turned his head and gave a faint smile.
"Madara-san, the victors become kings, and the losers become thieves. With your broad mind, you shouldn't be so petty about this."
"Besides, I already did my best by resurrecting you. Otherwise, I could've taken the Rinnegan before Obito completed the jutsu. Even with Zetsu's strange abilities, he definitely wouldn't have been able to stop me."
Madara sneered. "Did your best? Do you think I don't know what kind of thoughts you harbor?"
"You're just coveting my body."
"After all, I'm the true master of the Rinnegan, the real heir of the Sage of Six Paths. Only I can unleash the full power of these eyes and the Ten Tails."
"Madara-san, do you know what the biggest reason for your failure is?"
Orochimaru wasn't the slightest bit angry that Madara had seen through his thoughts. Instead, he calmly asked a question in return.
"What?"
Madara frowned.
He didn't think he had failed. As long as he was still alive, the fight wasn't over. But he was curious to hear Orochimaru's answer.
"Arrogance."
The word came calmly from Orochimaru's mouth, and Madara's pupils shrank.
"I'm arrogant?!"
"Are you not?"
Orochimaru smiled and said, "You had the guts to trade the Rinnegan to me in order to summon Senju Hashirama. But that only proves you underestimated me."
"In your eyes, your only rival has always been Senju Hashirama, or the reincarnations of Indra and Ashura."
"Even now, you still act so arrogant, thinking that I'm coveting your body."
Orochimaru looked up at the night sky. "Unfortunately, I only resurrected you as a backup and for experimental purposes. The next target of my Living Corpse Reincarnation won't be you, but… Yami."
(To be continued.)
