Chapter 3: Chapter 3. A Deal With A Monster
A frown remained on Kingsley's face as his fingers typed on his phone's screen as he dialed a number. He placed his phone close to his ears and waited for a little while.
"Hello, Mr Elm.." His assistant's voice rushed out from the other side.
"Raymond, Get me all the necessary information about Jasmine Trevor and get that done in the next thirty minutes and send it to my email directly." He immediately said the moment the call connected.
"I will do just that sir, What about Your grandfather?" Raymond, his assistant, asked only to earn a cold reply from Kingsley.
"Channel all your energy into doing what I asked and don't ask me questions." Kingsley growled at him before he ended the call and dropped the phone on the seat.
He was annoyed. He just wanted to get to his grandfather's house as soon as possible.
It was because of the emergency, his driver crashed into Miss Trevor's car earlier. All because of that old man.
His phone started to vibrate and he let out a grunt when he saw that it was his grandfather's butler that was calling for the umpteenth time that morning.
He connected the call and stretched out his words, "I'm on my way." He said coldly and the butler stuttered a little.
"Your old man has been grumbling nonstop..." he tried to explain but then another voice joined.
Kingsley massaged his forehead when his grandfather snatched the phone and started to complain "Kingsley, I mean what I said. I'm almost dressed up. I'm coming to your company! I would climb to the rooftop and jump off the building to make sure it closes down!" He ranted, making Kingsley tap on the driver's seat, signifying him to drive faster.
"Grandpa, do not do anything silly like that. I'm on my way to your house already." Kingsley tried to persuade but he snapped.
"Are you coming with a bride?? If not, then I do not want to see you!" His grandfather was a pain in his ass.
He's been like this for a while but not this intense. He was hellbent this day and not giving Kingsley a way out to breath.
Kingsley had to lie "I have something important to tell you...and it's about the woman I'm getting married to."
An ear-piercing sound followed as the driver stepped on the brakes too hard, making the car shake violently. Elliot was so shocked by that white lie that he lost control.
Kingsley was even more annoyed as he glared hard at his driver who quickly apologized "I'm so sorry, Mr Elm." He stepped on the gas and the drive went smoothly again.
His grandfather paused when he heard that, and seemed to be calming down. "Are you trying to trick me this time around?" He asked skeptically and Kingsley snorted.
"I'm not. Just stay put, I'll be there soon." He didn't know if to be grateful that he crashed into Miss Trevor's car earlier. He wasn't expecting to lie about this but since it has come to this, maybe he will have to consider what Miss Trevor said.
And besides, anything to spite Jack was something he would want to indulge in. Killing two birds with one stone, maybe this could be fun.
"Okay, grandson. I'm waiting.." This time, his grandfather sounded more reasonable, making Kingsley a little relieved.
He let out a sigh of relief after that section. His grandfather was the only one who could stir up trouble for him since he was the only family he's got. Grandpa Elm was the one who was his only relative after he lost his parents.
Kingsley loved his grandfather a lot even with his cold temperament and arrogant attitude. He cherish his sometimes-childish grandfather who could still be stern at the same time.
"Drive faster." He reminded the driver before resting his head on the chair pillow. His thought suddenly wandered off to Jasmine Trevor...that bold heiress of the Trevor Family.

Trevor's Family House.
Jasmine's red Benz pulled up in front of her father's house which was a huge mansion.
She smiled before grabbing her phone, she had purposely ignored Jack's call earlier. It wouldn't be a bad idea to start showing him her true colors from now on.
She grabbed her car keys and handbag from the back seat and got out of the car. A maid soon rushed out to meet her halfway.
She bowed respectfully, "Welcome home, young Miss." A smile was on her face as she helped carry Jasmine's handbag.
"Thank you.." she said. She couldn't wait to meet her parents.
The front door was pulled open from the inside and she gracefully strolled into the wide spacious living room. The warm air in the living room embraced her skin, reminding her of a life she was almost denied of by the man she fell in love with.
'Screw him' she said in her head. Her eyes scanned the room and then she saw them, her parents.
Her mom was sitting close to her dad and seeing them smile while watching the news about her forthcoming wedding with Jack, a sad smile appeared on her face.
She wondered how they cried when they saw her dead body that day, was Jack remorseful ?? She was sure her mother would have probably passed out.
"Mom, Dad, I'm home" she announced, a big smile forming on her face. Her parents turned to look at her and her mother giggled.
"My big baby is back. Come, come, come.." Her mother was enthusiastic as she pulled her towards a sofa for her to sit on.
Her father turned to look at her "How was your trip to the hall?? Are you satisfied?"
Jasmine quickly remembered that she had gone to check out the event hall. It was on her way back that she got into the accident. She swiftly smiled "Ah, yes. It's nice and can contain the guests"
Her mother was in all smile as she nodded "I can't believe that In two days you'll be living with someone else you'll call 'husband'. Oh, you've grown so much, my dear" her mother lashes blinked several times to blink back her tears and her husband patted her back gently.
Jasmine smiled sadly, 'If only they knew what would happen in two days.'
Mr Moore Trevor, Her father comforted her mother "Do not cry, she'll be in good hands. I believe the man she chose can take care of her."
Hearing that, Jasmine's shoulders stiffened. "Well, I guess." She added slowly.
Just then, Jack's call came in again and she excused herself and walked out of there to answer the call.
"Hey, Jack" mentioning his name, Jasmine felt like she just swallowed a whole bottle of spoiled milk.
"Hey, my love..I called earlier but you didn't pick up" Jack's sharp voice came. In her previous life, she would feel butterflies in her tummy but this time, she could only feel disgusted.
She hummed in response, not wanting to say much to him. He soon added "Well, I just went to pick out my suit. I can't wait to get married to you soon"
Those were his initial words but it sounded like "I can't wait to get rid of you soon." In Jasmine's ears.
The thoughts of it made her stomach churn but she didn't outrightly disrupt his belief. She just concluded "Same here. I can't wait for the wedding to happen.." and she thought in her head.
' I can't wait to tear off your mask and show the world how much of a monster and a loser you are, Jack Raven.'
