Chapter 794: Chapter 788: Want to Join the Special Group

“Are you having trouble with something?” Li Zhao asked Xiao Qi, who looked exhausted.

“Actually, there’s not much going on. I just haven’t been sleeping well lately.” Xiao Qi pinched the bridge of his nose. Every time he closed his eyes, he dreamt about that heartless woman. Sometimes she was smiling, sometimes cold, but most of the time, she was hurt. He felt that something must have happened to her, but he didn’t know where to find her. That’s why he couldn’t concentrate on his work.

“What happened? Did something happen?” Upon hearing Xiao Qi’s words, everyone looked at him with concern.

“Nothing like that, don’t worry. I just feel restless lately, as if something is about to happen.” Xiao Qi didn’t actually believe in such things, but lately, his dreams kept showing these events, so he had no choice but to believe.

“Why don’t you take some time off and rest at home? Don’t work for now. I’ll make you some calming tea to help.” Qin Xue couldn’t bear to see Xiao Qi’s troubled expression. Was this the same refined and courteous man from before? He looked so disheveled.

“That sounds good. Thank you, sister-in-law.” Feeling that there was no other choice, Xiao Qi accepted Qin Xue’s advice, fearing that he wouldn’t survive without sleep any longer.

“No problem, give me your hand, and I’ll take a look.” Qin Xue glanced at Chu Molin before speaking to Xiao Qi.

“Okay.” After glancing at everyone else, Xiao Qi extended his hand for Qin Xue to check his pulse.

“There’s no major issue; your liver fire is just a bit too strong. I’ll give you some medicine to take, and adjust your sleeping schedule. Eat your meals on time, and you’ll be fine.” Qin Xue said after examining Xiao Qi’s pulse.

She would prescribe chrysanthemum, honeysuckle, and Gentiana scabra for him to make tea. The issue was likely caused by a lack of rest and poor eating habits. He just needed to pay more attention, adjust his rest and diet, and would gradually improve. There was no need to worry; this was not cancer.

“Thank you, sister-in-law, I’ll make the changes.” Xiao Qi was grateful. His problems were all due to Chu Beiying’s dream disruptions.

“Alright, who has paper and a pen? Let me borrow them for a moment.” Qin Xue asked the group, as she couldn’t take anything out of her spatial storage at the moment.

“Here.” Qin Xue looked at the two notebooks and pens that appeared before her in surprise.

Qin Xue raised her head to look at the owner of the stationery, taking one of the sets. Of course, she chose the one from her beloved husband.

“Biased,” Qin Lang recollected the paper and pen with a smile.

“Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be in S Province watching over those brats?” Chu Molin asked Qin Lang, who had suddenly appeared before them.

“I had some things to take care of, so I came back. When I heard that you guys were here, I couldn’t believe it, but everyone seemed so sure, so I thought I would test my luck.” Qin Lang had been using his spare time to investigate events that happened twenty years prior. He happened to have some business in the Imperial Capital, so he decided to come home, hoping to discover some truth.

“How are they doing now?” Chu Molin inquired about their coworkers from before.

“Everyone’s fine, but they miss you a lot. You wouldn’t believe how dedicated they are to their work now. Can you guess why?” Qin Lang hadn’t expected this level of diligence from them. They had never appeared to be the hardworking type before, but now he understood that they must have been handpicked by Chu Molin. If they committed to something, they would do their best.

“To join the special team.” Chu Molin raised his eyebrows, impressed by their ambition. However, whether they could join or not would depend on their efforts.
