Chapter 814: Chapter 808 Jing Yuan is Here_1

Yet Fang Xiu didn’t realize that some things are just not meant to be. Just when she thought she could finally live a good life, someone showed up.

“Sister-in-law.” Jing Yuan looked at the woman before her, the one who stole the man she loved. Yet, for the sake of that man, she could not speak or act against her.

“What are you here for?” Fang Xiu asked coldly, looking at Jing Yuan.

“I missed you, so I came to see you. You don’t know, after you left, I urged mother to find someone to bring you back.

But she said that once you left, you shouldn’t return, she had no time for such thankless tasks. It made me really sad. You’re my brother’s wife, part of the Jing family, how could mother say that?” Jing Yuan symbolically wiped her eyes as she said this, trying to express to Fang Xiu that she was on her side while also attempting to create a divide between Fang Xiu and Mrs. Jing.

What Jing Yuan didn’t realize was that, since the last time Mrs. Jing visited her, Fang Xiu no longer had any consideration for Mrs. Jing or the Jing family, making Jing Yuan’s efforts entirely redundant.

Fang Xiu looked at this affected woman. She had initially thought Jing Yuan was kind, thus marrying into the Jing family and treating her very well. Not receiving Mrs. Jing’s favor was distressing for her.

At times, Jing Yuan would come and chat with her, comforting her, leading Fang Xiu to believe that she at least had someone to talk to in the Jing family. Little did she realize that this was only a facade.

After Fang Xiu left the Jing family, she interacted with many people. When she had quiet moments, she would think back to her times with the Jing family, and naturally about her interactions with Jing Yuan. Only then did she realize Jing Yuan had ostensibly helped her adapt to the Jing family life but was secretly sowing discord between her and the Jing family. Fang Xiu could not comprehend Jing Yuan’s intentions, but knowing her motives, Fang Xiu certainly would not act as she dictated.

Yet, if Jing Yuan wished to put on a show, shouldn’t Fang Xiu play along? Maintain the image of the naive, innocent Fang Xiu. Perhaps, in doing so, she would discover why Jing Yuan behaved as she did.

With this thought, Fang Xiu decided on her course of action. She softened her expression, resembling that when she socialized with Jing Yuan in the Jing family.

“My dear sister, as you said, I’ve always known that Mother doesn’t care for me. I’ve been expelled from the Jing family now, so let’s not bring up the past and ruin the relationship between mother and daughter,” Fang Xiu cheerfully replied. You want to turn me against Mrs. Jing? Well, I’ll play along. You don’t want me to have a good life, then why should I let you have it easy?

“Sister-in-law, you are really too kind. It’s wonderful that you’ve thought of it this way. I was worried you were overthinking. Hearing you say this, I feel reassured.” Upon hearing Fang Xiu’s words, Jing Yuan was barely able to maintain her composure.

She didn’t know if she was overthinking, but she felt that Fang Xiu was acting strangely. Did she know that her expulsion from the Jing family had been Jing Yuan’s doing? Shaking her head, Jing Yuan dismissed the thought. If Fang Xiu were that insightful, she wouldn’t be in this predicament.

Fang Xiu watched Jing Yuan’s expression and couldn’t help but find it amusing. Jing Yuan’s act was so obvious, how blind she must have been before to have not seen it. Regardless, it wasn’t too late now – being out of the Jing family meant she didn’t have to see that hypocritical face, which was a relief.

“My dear sister, I’ve always been this way. My parents told me to be kind-hearted, it helps in getting along with others,” said Fang Xiu.
