Reincarnated as Itsuka Shido: Collecting Spirits as Lovers

Chapter 92: Dinner

After spending over an hour in the private hot spring, Shido and Reine decided it was time to leave. Kotori and the others could return at any moment, and if they caught the two of them bathing together, Shido wasn't sure whether they would believe the words that came out of his mouth.

Stepping out of the water, they dried off and changed into fresh yukatas. As they prepared to leave, Shido found himself glancing at Reine more often than he intended.

Her usual drowsy look, combined with the elegant yukata draped over her figure, created a mesmerizing sight. The gentle glow of the lanterns illuminated her pale blue hair, and the way the fabric loosely hugged her figure made her look even more alluring than before.

Before he realized it, Shido had been staring for far too long.

"Shin." Reine suddenly called out, a small chuckle escaping her lips. "You're gawking."

Shido blinked, realizing his mistake. He quickly turned his head away, laughing awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"A-Ahaha... Sorry, I just thought the yukata looks really good on you."

Reine tilted her head slightly, the corner of her lips curling into a faint smile. "Is that so?"

Seeing her reaction, Shido felt his face heat up. 'Damn it... this woman is really too dangerous.'

He quickly turned towards the door. "AAnyway, we should return first before the others came back."

Reine simply nodded and followed behind, a knowing smile never leaving her face.

Just as expected, Kotori, Tohka, Origami, Yoshino, and Yoshinon entered the room just minutes after Shido and Reine had returned. However, Shido quickly noticed something unusual, most of them had slightly flushed faces, except for Origami, whose face remained as expressionless as ever.

As for the girls, they didn't seem to think much of Shido and Reine being together. They simply assumed that the two had finished their bath earlier than the rest.

Kotori stretched her arms with a satisfied sigh. "A-Ahh, that was refreshing! A hot spring bath after a long day really hits the spot."

Tohka nodded hurriedly. "Umu! It was amazing! But for some reason, my body still feels a little hot..."

Yoshinon, resting on Yoshino's arm, giggled mischievously. "Fufu~ Could it be that you all stayed in too long? Or maybe~ it's because of what happened in there?"

Shido raised an eyebrow at their strange reactions.

Kotori cleared her throat abruptly, avoiding eye contact with Shido. "A-Anyway! Let's just relax for now. Where's the food anyway, I'm getting hungry?"

"Food!!!" Tohka's eyes shined when she heard the word food. Shido shifted his eyes to her direction and couldn't help but rubbed her head lovingly causing Tohka let out a silly smile.

Reine, standing beside Shido, glanced at the girls with her usual drowsy look but didn't comment. Shido, on the other hand, didn't really have much thought about what happened. He was sure it may just Tohka and Origami bickering again.

"Itsuka-sama, we brought your dinner."

A voice rang from outside the room. Shido immediately recognized it as the female staff member from earlier.

"Come in." he replied.

The sliding door gently opened, and the female staff, accompanied by her colleague, entered the room carrying trays filled with vibrant and beautifully arranged dishes. The enticing aroma of the meal spread through the air, making the girls' eyes light up with excitement.

Tohka, in particular, had a sparkle in her gaze, her mouth already watering as she stared at the feast before her.

Once all the dishes were placed neatly on the table, the staff gracefully bowed their heads. However, just before stepping out, the female staff member cast a meaningful glance at Shido, her expression playful yet knowing, as if hinting at something.

Shido was speechless by this, however, he acted as if he didn't saw what her gestures said.

As the meal began, the table was filled with the pleasant sounds of clinking chopsticks and satisfied sighs.

The spread before them was nothing short of a feast, an group of vibrant and meticulously prepared dishes that showcased the finest of traditional Japanese cuisine. For appetizers, they had fresh sashimi, flavorful yakinono, delicate nimono, silky chawanmushi, and refreshing sunomono.

The main courses boasted sukiyaki simmering in a fragrant broth, hearty nabe, crispy golden tempura, and rich, glazed unagi. Accompanying the meal were bowls of steaming miso soup, fluffy white rice, a selection of pickles, and a perfectly rolled omelet. And to finish, they had matcha, seasonal fruits, and a sweet, warm serving of zenzai as dessert.

Everyone was completely absorbed in the meal, enjoying each bite.

Tohka, especially, was in pure bliss. She devoured her food with sparkling eyes, barely stopping between bites.

Origami sat on Shido's left, while Tohka occupied his right. Across from them, Reine, Yoshino, and Kotori enjoyed their meal peacefully.

However, despite Shido's desire to eat in peace, Origami had other plans. Without hesitation, she began feeding him various dishes, carefully picking out the best bites.

Tohka, who had been enthusiastically devouring her meal at an impressive pace, suddenly froze. Her purple eyes narrowed as she caught sight of Origami feeding Shido.

Pouting, she quickly grabbed a piece of eel with her chopsticks and turned to him with a bright smile.

"Shido! Here, try this! It's delicious!"

Before Shido could react, Origami interjected smoothly. "No, Shido. Eat my sukiyaki instead." She extended her chopsticks toward his mouth, blocking Tohka's attempt.

Tohka's eyebrow twitched. "Hey! I was first!"

Origami remained composed but unwavering. "It doesn't matter. My food is superior."

Sparks flew between them as they locked eyes, both ready to escalate their rivalry. Tohka clenched her fists, her battle instincts kicking in, while Origami, calm but determined, looked as if she was prepared to roll with Tohka on the tatami mat.

Before either could make a move, Shido, acting on impulse, leaned forward and simultaneously took a bite of both the food, the eel from Tohka and the sukiyaki from Origami.

"Delicious." he murmured, savoring the flavors.

At the same time, Shido pulled both Tohka and Origami closer by the waist. "Don't fight, alright?"

For a moment, the two girls blanked out, their faces heating up in response to his unexpected boldness. Tohka's eyes widened in surprise, while Origami's usual composure cracked ever so slightly, a faint blush dusting her cheeks. However, the two mischievous girls still nodded their head obediently.

Meanwhile, Kotori, watching from across the table, twitched as her lips curled downward. She knew that Shido and Tohka shared that kind of relationship, but seeing him treat Origami the same way left her feeling dumbfounded, and maybe a little jealous.

'This damn perverted brother of mine…!' she grumbled internally, gripping her chopsticks tightly.

On the other hand, Yoshino sat in a daze, staring at the scene. Her thoughts wandered, and she found herself imagining being in Tohka's or Origami's position instead. The very thought made her heart flutter, and she quickly lowered her head in embarrassment.

"Fufu~ Yoshino, what are you thinking about?" Yoshinon's mischievous voice teased in her ear, causing Yoshino to flinch slightly.

Meanwhile, the only person unfazed by the entire situation was Reine. She quietly continued her meal, seemingly uninterested in the chaos unfolding around her. Instead, she focused on passing Yoshino a few dishes that were out of her reach, without sparing Shido a single glance.

And so, the meal continued, each person harboring different thoughts in their mind.
