Chapter 20: Chapter Nineteen - Who Turned Off The Light?
— "Ahh!" — I screamed, I said no words were going to come out of my mouth but in my defense, it was more of an exclamatory scream than anything else.
— "I see that your old teacher taught you well." — He smiled helping me get up.
— "Despite having problems controlling her strength, she was an excellent teacher." — I told him honestly.
— "Why did you stop taking classes?"
'You know the answer. But let's play a little.'
— "In one class she used too much force and left bruises that were 'horrible' according to my mother on my body in addition to an injured wrist."
— "Who taught you, Hulk?" — He asked confused.
— "You could say that yes, warning, never make a woman angry, especially one whose name starts with Nat." — I put myself in a defensive position.
— "You are very right." — He laughed softly. — "My best friend has Nat in her name."
— "Be careful, maybe she has a hidden Hulk." — I laughed.
Barton taught me how to avoid attacks from behind and how to free myself from an attack from behind. In addition to how to hit and measure my strength in each blow so as not to waste unnecessary energy.
— "And how are you?" — My mother asked, gently stroking my head. I was beginning to feel dizzy.
— "Your daughter is very good for her age, and from what I see, her teacher knew a lot. I will only help her improve, it is always good to keep practicing." — He smiled.
— "Marvelous! So when would the class be?"
— "4 times a week for 3 hours a day."
My head began to spin, their voices became increasingly distant.
— "Little one, are you okay?" — Barton asked with a worried expression.
— "Ehh?" — I asked distractedly. — "Yes I'm fine." — I laughed lightly.
— "Martha, what's wrong?" — She crouched down to my height.
— "I don't feel okay Mom." — From one moment to the next everything went black. The last thing I felt was someone holding me before I fell.
Where am I? Everything was dark, yet I could tell that I was alone.
— "Hello?" — I asked into the air. — "Excuse me, I don't think I'm dead so it would be great if someone answered me!" — I screamed.
Nothing, just raw, and cold silence.
— "If I'm going to be reincarnated again, can I go to Harry Potter? It bothers me that they never save Cedric, just please I don't want to be reborn as the protagonist's twin sister."
I walked through the darkness hoping to find something, whether it was a light or maybe the heat of hell but nothing.
Exhausted, I sat on what I think is the floor, stretching my body, I closed my eyes trying to analyze what was happening.
.
Suddenly a light began to shine through my eyelids, forcing me to open them. I slowly started blinking getting used to the orange light.
— "Martha, are you okay?!" — My mother spoke agitatedly.
— "What happened? Where am I?" — I asked stunned.
— "You fainted when class ended." — Barton said from a corner.
— "Fainted...? How long was I like this?" — I asked even more confused.
— "It was only a few minutes." — My mother answered, caressing my cheek and putting my hair behind my ear.
'Minutes? For me it was a full day, that dream felt so real.'
— "I'm sorry for worrying you." — I hugged my mother.
— "I'll take you to the hospital, it's not normal that you fainted." — She said determinedly, standing up.
— "Of course..." — I stood up slowly.
— "Thank you, Mr. Barton, we'll see you for your next class." — Mom said goodbye to the teacher.
— "No problem. See you later Martha."
I said goodbye shaking my hand.
My mother took me by the hand as we walked to the car and then went to the hospital.
She kept asking me if I had eaten well or if I had been feeling bad before, to which I responded that it was the first time that had happened to me and that I had been eating well.
.
After the doctor said that the fainting was caused by excessive tiredness and dehydration. As soon as I set foot in the house, Mom sent me to rest in my room, forbidding me to even touch any tools.
— "But..." — She interrupted me.
— "No buts Martha, you're going to go upstairs to your room to sleep and you better not start working or I'll take care of your tools disappearing myself." — I shuddered.
— "Violence is not necessary either." — I said going up the stairs. — "I won't touch anything."
— "I'm sure that Emi will let me know if you do it."
— "Ayyy! You put a lot of pressure, but aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccept." — I continued on my way listening to my mother's laughter.
I got to my room and the first thing I did was throw everything that was on my bed onto the floor, honestly, I felt too tired. Maybe Emi is right I'm doing more things than my body and mind can handle. This was just my body saying 'Either you put it down or...' and I don't want to find out what's next.
I settled into my bed, covering myself with a blanket of Star Wars that Peteypay gave me.
— "Hello Midgardian Midget."
I greet the god of lies materializing in my room. — "How do you know when I'm alone? Are you harassing me? Does Heimdall warn you or what?" — I vomit question after question.
— "No to two of those questions and answering the first one I only know." — He shrugs his shoulders.
— "You are a man of few words and the ones you say are not helpful." — I smiled at him more like a grimace.
— "Why are you in bed at 3:00 in the afternoon?" — He approached the bed, sitting on it.
— "I fainted a few hours ago. And Mom forced me to rest although I don't know if you can force someone to sleep." — I settled down to see him better.
— "Your life energy sucks right now." — He said mockingly but with his eyes looking at me worried.
— "Thank you, that's what every girl wants to hear. Second, don't worry, I just have to sleep. These last few days I have been doing more things than normal and I suffered a fracture." — I smiled at him.
— "You're welcome." — He answered jokingly.
— "Little horns talking about how I do more things than I can. I don't think I can continue learning magic with you." — I looked at him directly.
— "I know." — He said without further ado.
— "Ha Ha now you know everything, right?"
— "That's Heimdall and because he's a guard." — He stood up seriously. — "Your body is too small for all the magic you are accumulating, in fact, I came to tell you that until you were bigger we would continue with that."
I was moved. — "Malevolent cockroach and all but you have feelings." — I smiled sincerely. — "That doesn't mean you should stop coming."
— "Why would I stop bothering you, it's my favorite pastime after reading." — He laughed seeing my frown.
— "I know you secretly love me, there's a reason I'm your best friend." — I stuck my tongue out.
— "In your dreams."
— "No thanks, I don't like nightmares."
— "I never said we were friends."
— "AND?" — I asked confused. — "It's more than obvious that you would never say it but you think it, someone had to say it out loud someday."
He looked at me with his mouth open in surprise. — "You're too strange." — He moved his head from side to side. — "Move aside." — He said pointing to the opposite side of my bed.
— "If you are supposed to be an illusion, how come you can be lying next to me?" — I asked.
— "Magic."
— "Not even if you were Harry Potter." — I answered
— "Who?" — He looked at me confused.
— "The boy who lived."
— "I don't understand."
— "Then I'll explain it to you later, now I just want to sleep." — I closed my eyes little by little. — "But before I go to sleep, come whenever you want, I love your visits." — With that phrase and his laughter in the background, I fell asleep with a psychopathic god by my side.
.
When I woke up the little ice princess was gone and the sky was dark.
— "Emi."
"Miss."
— "How long did I sleep?" — I yawned.
"A few hours your mother is making dinner."
— "I'll go with her." — I stretched and then got out of bed and went to Mom.
— "Daughter, do you feel more rested?" — She asked me, caressing my cheek.
— "I feel new and improved!" — I exclaimed happily.
— "I'm glad to hear that. How about we watch a movie in the living room later?" — She asked excitedly.
— "I don't have a problem but you haven't slept."
— "Why do you think we'll see the movie? We both have too much energy and even more so with what we are going to have dinner."
"— "And that's it?"
— "Tacos!"
— "TACOS! /TACOS!" — Emi and I said at the same time, with the former appearing and jumping happily.
— "Emi's favorite food is tacos, mom."
— "Can you eat?" — She asked confused.
"I can eat holographic food and with my program, I can feel the taste of it."
— "Someday you will be able to physically eat them Emi."
"I'm happy if you eat them."
— "If you want, I can search for recipes on the internet and teach you how to make different types of food, Emily." — Mom said.
"That would be fabulous! I may not be able to eat it but I can see how they are made."
— "Tomorrow we start then."
— "Welcome Chef Emily." — I whispered while watching Emi jumping excitedly like a child and Mom snorting happily.
This is what I like most, to see my family happy.
