( Miu's POV )

I descended onto the newly created clear terrain and behind me came dozens of drones that began to build our base, I looked into the distance and saw a place lit by lanterns, I thought that when we arrived we would have kabanes jumping on us but the night was very quiet, I'm sure the inhabitants of this world are grateful for that, but that slowed down our plans.

Miu: Kuno, any sign of the enemy.

Kuno: [Nothing for now, I'm going to extend the range of our radars.]

Miu: I guess we should go out and collect information right away.

We were a team of ten with, Kuno, Kaie, Saeko, Rei, Saya, Felli, Joyce, Sakuya, Ayaka, and me, none of the great scientists in our family accompanied us because they were more interested in what was happening with Yuuki but they assured us that their vaccine was going to work, Those two may be a bit... eccentric but we can trust them on this kind of thing.

With no activity at the base, Sakuya, Saeko, and I climbed onto the shoulders of Joyce's Gear, and we flew to the nearest town.

The first thing we saw was a high wall that covered the city, and the only entrances were some rails that were separated by drawbridges, according to Sakuya, these cities were called stations and were governed by a noble family.

The highest level of their technology was powered by steam engines, and there were guards equipped with katanas and steam-powered guns.

Miu: Sakuya, how effective are those weapons against the Kabanes?

Sakuya: that does almost no real damage, the most they can do is push the kabans back, only repeated shots at the same spot can give results.

Miu: So if we offer them protection and the cure for the Kabane virus, they will be open to cooperating with us?

Sakuya: I'm not really sure about that, people are very terrified of the kabanes, just talking about them is a delicate subject, it's very likely that they'll take us for crazy people.

Miu: maybe if we show them proof.

We monitored the city for a while and then returned to our camp, While we were outside Kaie left the camp to capture kabanes, and when she returned we tested the cure on a transformed woman, upon being injected the kabane immediately stopped moving, and her skin changed color to a light gray, then her heart and veins stopped glowing.

Sakuya took care of the newly healed woman, and we made preparations for tomorrow.

The next day, early in the morning, we returned to the station with four Frame Gears and a medium-sized flying ship, Kuno was the only one who stayed in our camp, protecting the place with our base with our flagship New Horizon.

As we approached, our technology caused confusion and caution in the guards posted on the wall, I stood in front of the raised bridge, and all the guards pointed their weapons at me, not that a weapon that can't stop a kabane will hurt me.

Guard: Identify yourself! What are you doing here?

It would be better if Kuno took care of things like this but she at least told me what to say.

Miu: I am Kurokawa Miu, representative of the Babylon kingdom, I came to request an audience with the person in charge of this station.

They were only further confused by our statement, but they had to report that, and they left us waiting outside the walls, which was very insulting considering they didn't even have the courage to lower the drawbridge to talk to us, but I guess we can look past that.

Sakuya: I'm sorry, Miss Miu, I'm ashamed that people in my world react like this to your generosity.

Miu: You don't have to apologize for them.

They were taking a while to respond, and when the guards returned, their numbers had tripled, that couldn't be a good sign.

Guard: We don't know anything about any Babylon kingdom, you are not welcome here!

Miu: Are you serious?

Guardia: Turn around now or we'll have to shoot!

Miu: Alright... We're leaving.

If they don't want help, we can't do much more, honestly after what Sakuya told me, this answer doesn't surprise me much.

Sakuya: They will be begging for salvation when the Kabans are eating them.

Miu: That's a bit dark, but I guess our mission doesn't change, whether they agree to cooperate or not.

While we were returning we received a message from Kuno, it seemed that the victim we cured the other day had woken up, she was a little terrified and confused, she remembered a little that she was a Kabe and the first thing she did when she woke up was that we saved her station that was taken by Kabanes, we were already prepared for an attack so we flew directly to the coordinates that Kuno gave us.

The second station was very similar to the first one except that the place was on fire, there were four drawbridges, and the Frame Gears were positioned there to prevent the Kabanes from escaping, for this mission, the Gears were equipped with net guns, electric pulses to paralyze the enemy and ice magic.

The rest of us herded the kabanes into the center of the village and Kaie used her chains to tie them all up.

We started administering the Kabane cure to all of them, and a few hours later, we were at the castle of the former station lord, with all the cire people in front of us.

Miu: Listen, everyone, this place is now territory of the Babylon kingdom, you can be citizens of this new city, and we assure you that you will never be terrified by the kabanes again, but if you do not want that, you know what the way out is.

With what I said, people began to exchange glances, surely they had not fully recovered.

Sakuya: Miss Miu, may I say a few words?

Miu: Oh sure.

She came from this world so her words might give some comfort to these people.
