Chapter 72
In front of me sat a shallow pot, its surface bubbling as the liquid inside evaporated.
There were three pots in total. Red, blue, and yellow—colors that reminded me of a traffic signal.
“Master, what are you trying to do this time?”
Eve, whose beauty was otherworldly, akin to an enchantress capable of toppling nations, asked with curiosity.
“Hm. Just a little experiment.”
Before me were three types of potions: a Life Potion, a Mana Potion, and a Stamina Potion.
I had used a Stamina Potion recently to treat Eclair’s illness. Its effects had been even greater than expected, which got me thinking—maybe there was something more I could do with it.
While I was at it, I managed to gather materials for a Life Potion and a Mana Potion as well, so I had prepared those, too.
Before long, the liquids in the pots boiled away completely, leaving behind powders in their respective colors at the bottom.
“Alright. I’ve successfully extracted the active ingredients.”
As I gazed at the powder with satisfaction—
“And what do you plan to do with this?” Eve tilted her head, her curiosity deepening.
“First, I’ll bottle them. After that…”
Carefully, I sealed the powders in bottles and left The Room to proceed to the next phase.
“Alright, time to analyze this.”
I entered the Academy’s research building.
It was after school, meaning most students were either hanging out with friends or immersed in training sessions.
For various reasons, I was never invited to training sessions, so I spent my free time doing as I pleased.
“Master, you’re a student too, you know? You should try making some friends.”
Eve, somehow picking up on my thoughts, added an unnecessary remark.
Ignoring her, I placed a sample of the powder onto a magic tool capable of item appraisal and activated it.
This was the same type of tool I had seen at the castle—a device that could analyze the properties of objects.
After a few minutes, the results appeared.
“Stamina Powder… Recovery value: 4999. It’s lower than before!”
Eve read the numbers aloud in surprise.
(That’s exactly what I wanted.)
The experiment had gone just as I had hoped.
My potions were simply too powerful. If I ever planned on selling them, I needed to tone them down.
However, I couldn’t just reduce their effectiveness while making them—when I infused the potions with magic, I had no way of holding back.
So I came up with a different approach: extracting the active ingredients from an already completed potion.
“If I divide it into about five portions, it’ll be slightly weaker than what a state alchemist can produce. That should make it marketable.”
This powdered form worked just like instant coffee—simply adding water would restore it into a potion.
The key advantages? Long-term storage and easy portability.
If Eclair needed to travel, carrying bulky potion bottles would be impractical and cumbersome.
But with Stamina Powder, she could carry small vials and simply mix them with a cup of water when needed.
For a regular alchemist, this method would reduce effectiveness, rendering it pointless.
But with my potions, the healing potency would remain more than sufficient.
Perhaps I should go ahead and commercialize this. If anyone questioned the recovery value, I could just say, “That’s a trade secret.”
“As expected of you, Master. With this, you can make as many potions as you like without worrying about storage issues.”
Listening to Eve’s bell-like voice, I began planning my next steps.
(For now, I’ll turn all my potions into powder…)
Staring at the three shimmering powders, an idea suddenly struck me.
Could this be a groundbreaking innovation that would shock the world?
“After that, it’ll be the weekend. You already gave Eclair her Stamina Potion last week, so are you planning to go somewhere this time?”
Tomorrow was a day off at the Academy. Since classes had started, I hadn’t taken a single break.
“Master, I really think you should rest. I admire how hard you work for others, but to me, your well-being is the most important. If you refuse to take a break, I’ll lock you inside The World with Kaiser and have him restrain you.”
“I get it, I get it. I promise, tomorrow I’ll do something for myself.”
“Really~?”
She sounded skeptical. It was proof of how genuinely concerned she was for me.
I smiled wryly.
“So, what are your plans for tomorrow?”
“Hm? Let’s see. In the morning, I’ll go to the marketplace, and in the afternoon…”
The excitement of my new idea was too much to contain.
Holding back my anticipation, I shared my plans with Eve, my heart brimming with eagerness.
