Reincarnated into the DAO World, Season 1

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Crimson Fang’s Prodigy

The battlefield had transformed into a blood-soaked warzone, littered with the fallen.

But now, every remaining fighter had paused their battles, their gazes locked onto the two figures standing in the center.

Xiao Lan vs. Bai Yun.

One, a mysterious rising force.

The other, the strongest prodigy of the Crimson Fang Clan.

The air between them crackled with tension, their Dao energies colliding like unseen titans.

Xiao Qing, watching from the distance, felt her heartbeat quicken.

"This is bad," she muttered. "That guy's power is on an entirely different level."

She wasn't wrong.

Bai Yun wasn't just strong—he was a walking catastrophe.

His blood-red Dao aura flickered around him like living flames, his sword humming with energy that sent shivers down the spines of even the most battle-hardened cultivators.

And yet—

Xiao Lan smiled.

"Finally," he muttered. "A real fight."

Bai Yun's eyes narrowed.

"You're either brave," he said, "or a fool."

Xiao Lan cracked his knuckles. "Can't it be both?"

Without another word—

Bai Yun attacked.

Bai Yun vanished, reappearing in front of Xiao Lan in the blink of an eye.

His blade descended like lightning, slicing the air apart with terrifying force.

BOOM!

The impact sent a shockwave through the battlefield, shattering the stone beneath them.

But—

Xiao Lan was gone.

Bai Yun's eyes flickered to the side just in time to see a blur—

Then—

BANG!

Xiao Lan's knee slammed into Bai Yun's ribs, sending the Crimson Fang prodigy flying backward.

The crowd gasped.

"Someone actually landed a hit on Bai Yun?!"

But Xiao Lan didn't stop.

He chased after him, moving like a shadow. Before Bai Yun could recover, Xiao Lan appeared above him, twisting his body mid-air—

And delivered a brutal axe kick.

BOOM!

Bai Yun crashed into the ground, shattering the stone beneath him.

Dust exploded outward, momentarily obscuring everything.

The arena fell silent.

Had Xiao Lan already won?

But then—

A deep, menacing laugh echoed from within the dust cloud.

A wave of red energy surged outward, blowing away the debris.

And from within it—

Bai Yun stood up, unharmed.

His eyes glowed crimson, his aura flaring to life like an inferno.

"You're fast," he admitted, rolling his shoulders. "But that's not enough to stop me."

His lips curled into a savage grin.

"Now… it's my turn."

Xiao Lan felt it immediately.

The change.

Bai Yun's energy spiked, his aura thickening until it felt like the weight of an entire mountain was pressing down on the battlefield.

The very air around him distorted.

Then—

BOOM!

Bai Yun launched forward, moving with impossible speed.

Xiao Lan barely had time to raise his arms before—

BANG!

A devastating punch collided with his guard, sending him skidding back several meters.

The ground cracked beneath his feet.

Bai Yun didn't stop.

He closed the distance instantly, his sword slashing toward Xiao Lan's chest.

Xiao Lan twisted his body, dodging by a hair's breadth—

But Bai Yun was already anticipating it.

A follow-up kick slammed into Xiao Lan's ribs, launching him into the air.

Then—

Bai Yun appeared above him, his sword glowing with blood-red energy.

"Fall!" he roared, bringing the blade down.

BOOM!

Xiao Lan was sent crashing into the ground, creating a massive crater.

The crowd went silent.

Even Xiao Qing felt a chill.

Did Bai Yun just… win?

But then—

A deep chuckle echoed from the crater.

A moment later, Xiao Lan stood up, wiping a trickle of blood from his lip.

"Not bad," he said, rolling his shoulders.

"Guess I should start taking this seriously."

Bai Yun's eyes narrowed.

"You're still standing?"

Xiao Lan exhaled slowly, his body relaxing.

Then—

A wave of dark blue Dao energy erupted from his body.

The ground shook beneath him.

The air rippled with unseen force.

And for the first time—

Bai Yun felt a sliver of unease.

Xiao Lan looked up, his eyes glowing with power.

"You're strong," he admitted. "But there's something you should know."

Bai Yun gritted his teeth. "What?"

Xiao Lan's smirk widened.

"I'm even stronger."

Then, in a blur of motion—

He disappeared.

Bai Yun's instincts screamed at him—

But it was already too late.

BOOM!

A devastating punch slammed into his stomach, sending him hurtling backward.

Before he could recover—

Xiao Lan was already behind him.

Another strike to the ribs.

Then a knee to the jaw.

Then—

A final palm strike to the chest.

BANG!

Bai Yun was sent flying across the battlefield, crashing through multiple stone pillars before finally slamming into the arena wall.

He coughed up blood, his vision blurring.

Xiao Lan slowly walked toward him, his expression calm.

"It's over."

The Overseer's voice rang out.

"Winner: Xiao Lan!"

The crowd erupted into madness.

"He beat Bai Yun?!"

"Impossible!"

"Who the hell is this guy?!"

Bai Yun gritted his teeth, his pride shattered.

But before he could say anything—

Xiao Lan turned and walked away, as if the fight had been nothing more than a warm-up.

Xiao Qing rushed to his side, shaking her head.

"You just love making enemies, don't you?"

Xiao Lan grinned.

"What's the point of getting stronger if I don't get to fight monsters?"

She sighed. "You're impossible."

But deep down, she knew the truth.

Xiao Lan wasn't just strong.

He was terrifying.

And this was only the beginning.
