Reincarnated into the DAO World, Season 1

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: The Last Ten Standing

The arena, once filled with dozens of cultivators, had been reduced to just ten.

The weaker ones had fallen, their bodies sprawled across the battlefield, either unconscious or too injured to continue.

Xiao Lan stood amidst the chaos, his breath steady, his robes lightly tattered but otherwise unharmed.

Across the field, the remaining warriors took stock of their competition.

These were the strongest fighters.

The final ten.

Each one had made it this far, not by luck—but by sheer power, skill, and will.

Now?

Only one would walk away as the champion.

Xiao Lan's sharp eyes flickered across the battlefield, scanning his opponents.

Each of them was dangerous in their own right.

1. Xuan Zhen – A towering half-giant cultivator wielding a massive black battle axe. His brute strength alone had crushed countless foes.

2. Bai Yueru – A graceful but deadly druidic warrior, her dual emerald sabers humming with nature's power.

3. Hei Fang – A cold and calculating Watchers assassin, his shadow techniques making him almost impossible to track.

4. Sun Wuji – A rogue warrior clad in golden armor, known for his explosive martial techniques. His fists burned like the sun itself.

5. Lin Feiyan – A Dragon Descendent with azure scales peeking from beneath his robes. His Dao of Storms granted him terrifying speed and thunderous strikes.

6. Mo Cheng – A swordsman who had remained quiet throughout the tournament, his black blade never leaving its sheath. A true mystery.

7. Qiao Lian – A whip-wielding beauty with hypnotic charms, her techniques designed to break an enemy's will before breaking their body.

8. Wei Xu – A brutal warrior who fought with nothing but his bare fists. His body was as tough as metal, his punches like thunder.

9. Xiao Qing – The only familiar face among them, Xiao Lan's companion. Her crimson spear gleamed, her golden eyes burning with confidence.

And finally—

10. Xiao Lan.

He cracked his knuckles, feeling the tension in the air.

This wasn't just about winning anymore.

This was about survival.

A sudden wave of silence fell over the battlefield as the tournament overseer rose from his throne, his deep voice resonating across the arena.

"You ten have proven yourselves to be the strongest warriors of this tournament," he declared.

"But only one will claim victory."

He raised a single finger.

"This final stage will have no alliances. No room for mercy."

His voice darkened.

"There are no rules anymore. Fight until only one remains standing."

A heavy tension settled over the battlefield.

No more eliminations by surrender. No more restrictions.

The final battle had begun.

Then—

The golden bell tolled.

BOOOOOOM!

And all hell broke loose.

The moment the battle started, the fighters exploded into action.

Xuan Zhen roared, his massive axe cleaving through the air, forcing three warriors to dodge at once.

Sun Wuji unleashed a blazing fist strike, sending a scorching wave toward Bai Yueru, who leapt over it with ease, countering with a razor-sharp wind slash.

Hei Fang vanished into the shadows, reappearing behind Mo Cheng—only for the mysterious swordsman to effortlessly sidestep and retaliate with a single, precise unsheathed strike.

Qiao Lian's whip cracked, wrapping around Wei Xu's arm—but the iron-fisted warrior simply yanked her forward, nearly throwing her across the battlefield.

Meanwhile—

Xiao Lan?

He stood still, simply watching.

He wasn't in a rush.

Let them wear each other down first.

He had no intention of making the first move.

But—

Fate had other plans.

A sudden gust of wind rushed past Xiao Lan's ear.

He tilted his head slightly—

And a razor-thin wind blade sliced past, missing him by an inch.

A direct challenge.

His gaze snapped toward the source—

Lin Feiyan.

The Dragon Descendent smirked, his azure eyes flashing.

"Come now, Xiao Lan," he said. "You've been standing around long enough."

Xiao Lan exhaled.

"If you insist."

Then—

He attacked.

BOOM!

Xiao Lan vanished from his spot, appearing directly in front of Lin Feiyan in an instant.

The Dragon Descendent's smirk vanished as he barely managed to raise his arms in defense.

But it wasn't enough.

CRACK!

Xiao Lan's fist smashed into his chest, sending Lin Feiyan soaring across the battlefield, crashing into the ground with a violent thud.

Blood trickled from his lips.

He coughed, struggling to rise.

Xiao Lan slowly walked forward, calm as ever.

Lin Feiyan gritted his teeth.

"You… you're stronger than I thought," he muttered.

Xiao Lan simply shrugged.

"You challenged me first," he said. "Now deal with the consequences."

Then—

He raised his foot and stomped forward.

A devastating shockwave erupted, cracking the ground and sending Lin Feiyan flying once more, tumbling across the battlefield in a motionless heap.

He was out.

Nine left.

The battle continued.

As the battle raged on, Xiao Lan noticed something strange.

Two warriors who had been previously fighting each other—Xuan Zhen and Sun Wuji—had suddenly stopped.

Then—

They turned toward Xiao Lan.

Xiao Lan narrowed his eyes.

"So that's how it is?"

The two warriors exchanged a brief nod—

Then they attacked him together.

Xuan Zhen's battle axe swung down like a falling mountain, while Sun Wuji's blazing fists erupted with fire, both attacks aimed straight at Xiao Lan.

Most would have panicked.

Xiao Lan?

He simply smirked.

Then—

He dodged at the last possible second, his body a blur as the axe and fists smashed into the ground, leaving behind a crater.

But the two warriors weren't done.

Xuan Zhen spun, using the momentum of his swing to unleash a whirlwind slash—

While Sun Wuji's fists ignited the air, creating a storm of flaming punches.

Xiao Lan weaved through their attacks effortlessly, countering with precise, devastating strikes.

His elbow smashed into Xuan Zhen's ribs.

His palm crashed into Sun Wuji's chest.

Each hit was precise, lethal, overwhelming.

And in the span of mere seconds—

BOOOOM!

Both warriors collapsed, coughing up blood.

They struggled to stand, but it was over.

Xiao Lan sighed.

"That was disappointing."

With their defeat—

Only seven warriors remained.

And Xiao Lan?

He was still completely untouched.
