Chapter 219: You're So Annoying!
El's violet eyes seemed to glow in the shadows of the trees, emitting a calm yet dangerous aura.
She stepped slowly on the path in the center of the Beast Forest, where the reddening sky was a sign that dusk would soon give way to night.
A cool breeze blew, carrying the scent of wet soil and leaves, creating a quiet atmosphere. However, the silence did not make El lose his vigilance.
His gaze occasionally swept around, each step cautious, like a predator that never let its guard down in an area full of hidden threats.
While walking, his mind reviewed the events of this afternoon. While he and Yuri were relaxing, enjoying wine and grilled venison, El decided to test the limits of Kuchiyose's animal power from Animal Path.
The Chimera dog was the choice of test, because the animal was the most superior in terms of tenacity and survival from attacks quite deadly.
As El had expected, the Animal Path's animals had the strength equivalent to a Rank 3 Magic Beast. However, when faced with a Rank 4 Magic Beast, it was clear that the Chimera Dog was killed instantly.
However, El didn't worry too much about that. Kuchiyose Animal Path animals could be recalled at any time after death. There was no big loss, especially considering the results obtained were very satisfying.
In addition to confirming the power limit of Kuchiyose animals, El obtained two Rank 3 Magic Cores within a day, an achievement that usually took a long time.
Even with various methods such as hunting alone, buying at an auction house, or looking for it in the market of Wu Tan City.
El's own goal of collecting Magic Cores was not for collection, but rather to complete one of the Main Missions, as the more Rank 3 or higher Magic Cores one had, the better the Evaluation results.
"I now have four Rank 3 Magic Cores and two Rank 4 Magic Core," El muttered in a calm tone, replaying his memories. "Of course, if two of them are not used for Pain Path materials."
El continued his steps with a focused gaze, while enjoying the tranquility of the forest that was slowly being swallowed by the darkness.
After taking the path that runs through the middle of the forest, El finally arrived at the medicine valley. His gaze immediately fell on a simple wooden house that looked warm, lit by lanterns hanging in the yard.
The warmth of the atmosphere made El smile slightly. However, his attention was soon distracted by the fragrant aroma of food floating in the air.
Before stepping closer, El deactivated his Rinnegan. Slowly, the fiery purple color in his eyes faded, replaced with a dull black. He took a deep breath, letting the cold aura subside.
El approached the door of the house and knocked a few times. The sound of light steps could be heard from inside, approaching. When the door opened, he was greeted by the figure of Xiao Yi Xian who was carrying a bowl of hot dumplings.
"Oh, what a coincidence," Xiao Yi Xian said in a soft voice, her eyes twinkling. "Come in, sit on a chair. Try my dumplings."
El looked at her for a moment before entering, a faint smile returning to his face. "Hn, alright." he replied, his steps steady towards the dining room.
At the simple dining table, El was served a bowl of steaming dumplings, accompanied by a plate of buns and a glass of water.
The fragrant aroma of the food filled the room, creating a calm yet enigmatic atmosphere.
Across the table, Xiao Yi Xian sat in a graceful manner, a faint smile adorning her face with attentive eyes observing El. "What are you waiting for? Try it," she said, her tone soft yet slightly urgent.
El stared at the food for a moment before turning to Xiao Yi Xian. "Why did Xiao Yi cook dumplings for Ji?" he asked, his tone flat but filled with curiosity.
Xiao Yi Xian leans her body back slightly, her smile maintaining. "Consider it my form of hospitality," she replied casually.
However, the look in Xiao Yi Xian's eyes implied something deeper. "Your blood... works well in making the toxins in my body feel easier to control."
After a short pause, Xiao Yi Xian added in a tone that tried to understand El's wishes. "But this is also because I don't fully understand, what you really want from me."
El looked at Xiao Yi Xian with cold and flat eyes as if implying indifference. "Didn't Ji already say he didn't want anything from Xiao Yi? It's just that Ji's body wants Xiao Yi."
Xiao Yi Xian let out a long sigh, clearly showing her annoyance. "You always say that, but every time you get the chance, you never do it. You're really hard to understand!"
El gave his a glance, remaining calm. "Ji didn't ask to be understood-'
"Never mind," Xiao Yi Xian cut in with a stern tone, closing her eyes for a moment. "Stop the endless talk. Taste my cooking and give me your opinion."
El sighed lightly and picked up the chopsticks that were nearby. "Even though Xiao Yi is unwell, why are you still bothering to cook food?" he asked, knowing the answer he would receive.
"Just eat," Xiao Yi Xian presses, cutting in again with an impatient tone.
"Yes, yes, Ji will eat it," El replies with a shrug, then picks up a piece of dumpling with his chopsticks and stuffs it into the mouth.
El was silent for a moment, his gaze widening as if something had surprised his. However, he soon regained his composure and chewed the dumpling slowly, swallowing it with a neutral expression.
Across the table, Xiao Yi Xian sat with a small smile and sparkling eyes, waiting for El's comment.
But, that comment never came.

El just continued eating quietly, without saying a word.
Until finally, before the last bite, Xiao Yi Xian couldn't contain her annoyance anymore. "Hey! Why are you being so quiet?! I've gone to the trouble of cooking, at least say something!" she exclaimed with furrowed brows, looking at El demandingly.
"It's delicious," El replied briefly, clearly, without any extra words. He picked up the last dumpling in his bowl quietly.
"Just the word 'delicious'?" asked Xiao Yi Xian, still smiling kindly, but there was a veiled tone in her voice, a hint of pent-up anger.
"Then what else is there to answer?" he replied casually as he stuffed the last dumpling into his mouth in a calm motion.
Xiao Yi Xian stared at him for a moment, her smile staying in place, though her lips tightened slightly.
"For some reason, I really want to strangle your neck right now," Xiao Yi Xian said coldly, her body emitting a slight poison aura that glimmered faintly under the lantern light.
El only gave him a glance, chewing the dumpling a few times before swallowing it. Then, with a tone that remained flat, he said, "Just try it. If it makes Xiao Yi satisfied, Ji doesn't mind."
Xiao Yi Xian, who had reached the limit of her patience, suddenly moved quickly. She pulled El's collar and began to choke him furiously, shaking his body several times with frustrated movements.
