Chapter 14: The Renzos' Second Meeting

"You really are different from the rest! I'm looking forward to seeing you grow," Fugaku said, looking at Renzo with appreciation. He was pleased with his attitude. "You should head back for now. That's all for today. And from now on, just call me Uncle Fugaku."
"Also, keep what we talked about to yourself. Even within the clan, don't mention it to anyone. Do you understand?"
The more Fugaku valued Renzo, the less he wanted the Third Hokage to label him as a radical Uchiha.
Things were fine as they were. As long as Renzo kept a clear mind and understood the delicate relationship between the Uchiha and the village, that was enough.
Who knows? Maybe in the future, Renzo could become a valuable piece inside the Hokage's inner circle.
"I understand. I'll be going now. Goodbye, Uncle Fugaku!" Renzo replied before leaving Fugaku's home and heading back to his own.
Once Renzo left, Mikoto emerged from the inner room and sat down beside Fugaku. "Dear, you seem to really value this Uchiha Renzo kid," she said with curiosity.
"Yes, I do." Fugaku nodded with a smile before explaining everything that had transpired.
After listening, Mikoto's eyes lit up. "It sounds like Renzo is truly special. Maybe one day, he could even help you."
"I hope so. I just wish he grows up quickly and stays true to himself. Sigh…" Fugaku sighed heavily, feeling the weight of his responsibilities as the Uchiha clan leader.
Just then, a baby's cry echoed from the inner room.
"Oh! Itachi-chan is awake!" Mikoto immediately got up, her attention now fully on her child. She rushed inside, gently picking up little Itachi and rocking him until his cries stopped.
More than a month passed in the blink of an eye.
During this time, Renzo and his team, led by Yūhi Shinku, completed over ten C-rank to B-rank missions—mostly bandit extermination tasks.
They weren't just operating near the Land of Wind anymore; their missions extended to other regions as well. Some of these missions involved enemies who were clearly ninjas, making them even more dangerous.
Many of these adversaries were suspected spies from other countries. The ninja world was growing more unstable by the day.
Half a month ago, Iwagakure officially declared war on Konoha.
The Third Hokage immediately summoned Jiraiya back from his travels and tasked him with leading thousands of ninja to the borders of the Land of Grass and the Land of Rain to defend against Iwa's invasion.
Meanwhile, both Kumogakure and Kirigakure were growing restless, their movements hinting at possible aggression.
One evening, after completing a mission, Renzo was training at home.
"Hmm? This feeling…?"
While refining his chakra, Renzo suddenly sensed a familiar ripple through his soul. His eyes lit up slightly as he allowed the sensation to guide him.
Then, everything went dark for a moment, and the next thing he knew, he was back in that familiar black corridor.
"It finally activated again? I still don't get the rules behind how this space opens up. Can't it just be available all the time?" Renzo muttered, walking toward the end of the corridor.
Before long, he arrived in the mysterious space once more.
"Took you long enough!"
Eevee, already sitting on the table, shot him a look of annoyance.
Then, with a smug expression, Eevee activated its Sharingan and proudly showed it off to Renzo. "Ta-da! Check this out, peasant!"
"Tch!" Renzo scoffed, unimpressed. "You're literally using something you got from me. You're showing off my own power to me? Are you serious?"
"How childish."
Then, without hesitation, he activated his own two-tomoe Sharingan and gave Eevee a side glance. "You don't actually think that just because you, an Eevee, managed to awaken the Sharingan through some psychic energy fusion, that I, the original owner, wouldn't be able to, do you?"
"No way, right? No way?"
Renzo's expression and tone were the very definition of arrogant and smug.
Eevee: "..."
Damn it! Miscalculated! I was too naive!
Feeling completely defeated, Eevee deactivated its Sharingan, turned its head away, and scoffed, "Tch! It's just a two-tomoe Sharingan. Nothing special! Now, help me out. Let's see how much you've improved, and while we're at it, check out my own progress!"
Over the past month, Eevee had traveled with Cynthia, battling across various cities and taking on countless challenges in the wild.
Its strength had skyrocketed.
And Cynthia? That woman was a certified rich girl. She had provided Eevee with the best possible training resources—top-tier Pokéfood, energy cubes, and even skill-enhancing TMs.
Honestly, if Eevee hadn't been training rigorously, it probably would have gained some weight by now.
"Alright, sounds good! I haven't been slacking either. I've learned quite a few new jutsu this month!"
Renzo then ignored Eevee's outstretched paw and, instead, reached out and ruffled its head vigorously.
"You bastard!!"
Eevee, completely enraged, quickly jumped away.
Then, it sat down and began processing Uchiha Renzo's memories.
Uchiha Renzo did the same.
After a while, they both finished absorbing the new information.
Renzo looked at Eevee in surprise. "So, ninjutsu that requires hand seals can't be used in the Pokémon world? Well… it makes sense, but I didn't expect it."
"Tell me about it!" Eevee threw its front paws up in frustration. "I was really hoping to use Transformation Jutsu to walk around in human form! But now, that plan is ruined!"
"And honestly, most of your ninjutsu are completely useless to me! Again!"
"Why do you keep learning so many Fire and Lightning jutsu? What's the point? The only things I can actually use are the illusion techniques that work through the Sharingan! Next time, focus on learning more jutsu that don't require hand seals!"
"Or, better yet, simplify those that do! That's not too much to ask, right?"
Renzo rolled his eyes. "Not too much to ask? You think I'm the First Hokage? Or the Sage of Six Paths?"
"Hmph!" Eevee turned its head away. "I don't care! Just make it happen! Learn more jutsu like Rasengan, Wind Style: Rasenshuriken—anything I can use! I'm not picky!"
"..."
"I'll try…" Renzo sighed, then changed the topic. "By the way, you should be about ready to evolve, right? Make sure to evolve into an Espeon and learn Teleport as soon as possible."
"Konoha is already at war with Suna and Iwa, and both Kumo and Kiri are getting restless. I need a good escape technique."
Based on what he had seen, Eevee was already at level 31. There was no need to delay evolution any longer.
