Renzo: The 36-World Traveler

Chapter 16: Freeloader Renzo?

— — — — — — —

Pirate Renzo figured he had just awakened his past life's memories 😃.

Uchiha Renzo and Eevee rolled their eyes. "You think we believe that?"

"Besides, when it comes to looks, do you really think you're better-looking than me?"

Uchiha Renzo smugly lifted his chin.

He wasn't exaggerating—among the Uchiha, a clan full of good-looking people, his face and physique were top-tier.

In the future, the title of "Most Handsome in the Ninja World" was his for the taking 😏.

Eevee scoffed, "I swear, you guys are all completely shameless 🤬!"

Jealousy was tearing him apart!

Eevee raged internally, "So what if you're good-looking? If I had reincarnated as a human, I'd be a hundred times better than you two! Even as an Eevee, I'm still the most handsome Pokémon! No, scratch that—I'm the flashiest of them all 😤! "

Seeing that this conversation was going nowhere, Uchiha Renzo shook his head, clapped his hands, and got everyone's attention. "Alright, enough nonsense! Let's talk about our next steps. Our goal is to survive, grow stronger, and live better lives. Wasting time on pointless chatter won't help."

If just being handsome was enough, he wouldn't have to work so hard. He could just coast through life instead of pushing himself like this.

Pirate Renzo nodded in agreement. "You've got a point! Besides being good-looking, I just want more freedom! You two already have your plans, right? Help me figure mine out."

After all, after seeing their memories, Pirate Renzo thought their paths were solid—just keep growing stronger. And if the two of them kept grinding power-ups, wasn't that perfect for him?

"You don't even have to ask! We were thinking the same thing."

Uchiha Renzo and Eevee nodded in unison, looking at Pirate Renzo with obvious disdain. "Honestly, you're just too weak."

"What was I supposed to do?" Pirate Renzo spread his hands helplessly. "I got thrown into this world and immediately captured by pirates! Lucky for me, they wanted to sell me for a good price, so they treated me decently instead of torturing me. Otherwise, I would've wanted to die!"

"Anyway, the pirate ship is about to reach Loguetown. I overheard them saying they'll be making a deal with actual slave traders there."

Pirate Renzo looked at Uchiha Renzo and Eevee Renzo with pleading eyes. "Guys, I have to say, your timing couldn't be better! Tell me, what should I do?"

Uchiha and Eevee both sighed in exasperation.

Eevee sneered, "Unbelievable! You've got our powers now—you should be able to escape easily! Just be careful, and after that, start training properly, you lazy bum!"

Uchiha Renzo nodded vigorously. "Exactly!"

The two of them made their disdain for freeloaders very clear.

They had thought they were getting another powerhouse on their team, but instead, they got dead weight.

The only upside was that they could at least absorb Pirate Renzo's physical constitution and mental energy, which wasn't bad.

Besides, the Pirate world had immense potential—there were endless possibilities for growth.

"You're right!" Pirate Renzo rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "The pirates who captured me aren't that strong. I mean, we are in the weakest sea, the East Blue."

Of course, "weak" was relative.

Without Uchiha Renzo and Eevee's powers, ten of him combined wouldn't stand a chance against this pirate crew.

"Since Loguetown is close, you might as well escape and grab Sandai Kitetsu and Yubashiri while you're there! That's an opportunity just waiting for you."

"For now, you should focus on swordsmanship and physical training."

Uchiha Renzo's suggestion had a purpose.

The Pirate world had an abundance of powerful beasts, fish, and Sea Kings—all of which were great for physical training. If Pirate Renzo improved his physique and sword skills quickly, it would free up Uchiha Renzo to focus more on developing ninjutsu instead of spending time on taijutsu.

A person's energy was limited. Trying to master everything at once would slow down progress.

He wasn't a natural prodigy or a cheat-level talent.

Well, maybe after merging with Pirate Renzo's mental energy and physique, he'd finally qualify as a genius.

Talent wasn't fixed, after all. And besides, Renzo himself was basically cheating.

Eevee nodded. "I agree! I don't care much about swordsmanship—I can't use it anyway—but if you can train your body to Kaido, Big Mom, or Garp's level, then maybe I can punch out a Legendary Pokémon with just my physical strength!"

He could already picture himself one-shotting Groudon!

Now that was a cool image 😊.

"Uh..."

Uchiha Renzo and Pirate Renzo looked at him blankly. "You're thinking too much! That's a Legendary Pokémon! Just because they look weak in the anime doesn't mean they actually are. If you underestimate them, you'll get yourself killed."

Believing in plot armor was a great way to die.

Eevee: "..."

Can't a guy dream?

Killjoys 😒.

"Forget it. What do you think?" Uchiha Renzo turned to Pirate Renzo.

"No problem!" Pirate Renzo shrugged. "I was already planning to train in swordsmanship and physical combat! I want to head to Shimotsuki Village to learn from Koshiro at the Isshin Dojo, but..."

"Getting Sandai Kitetsu and Yubashiri is out of the question. Where would I get the money?"

"Even Sandai Kitetsu costs 50,000 Berries!"

"I'm broke! And by the way, it's only the year 1509 in the One Piece timeline. I don't even know if that shop exists yet, let alone if Kitetsu is still there! It's 11 years before the main story starts—too much time for things to change."

With that big of a time gap, relying on canon events was a long shot.

That weapon shop might not even be open.

Uchiha Renzo scratched his head awkwardly. "Fair point."

Eevee rolled his eyes. "It's still worth checking out! Worst case, you wasted a trip. Now, what about the pirates who kidnapped you? Do they have a bounty?"

"If all else fails, you can always rob other pirate ships in Loguetown! Or just loot the town itself."

If you had enough strength, money wasn't a problem.

Pirate Renzo suddenly had a realization. "Oh… actually, yeah! The captain said his name was 'Blood-Handed Orik' and he has a bounty of 6.6 million Berries!"

"Oh?" Uchiha Renzo raised an eyebrow. "That should be enough to buy Yubashiri as well, right?"

"Of course—assuming you have the sword talent to back it up. Right now, that's questionable. But you can always return for the swords later once you've trained. With your current merged powers, you should be able to handle Orik."

"But test your abilities first! Eevee found out he couldn't use ninjutsu directly—the rules of this world are different. Think of it like needing to crack a different Wi-Fi password."

Nobody want to mess up and get killed because of a miscalculation.
