Restart, Spider-Man!

Chapter 254: Restart, Spider-Man! [254]

As he finished speaking, Peter turned and leapt off the bridge.

The figure of the older Peter Parker vanished from the bridge surface, the strong wind lifting his coat momentarily before he plummeted.

The next moment, the familiar red-and-blue figure shot out webs, swinging gracefully into the air, drawing gasps of amazement from onlookers.

"Spider-Man!"

"Peter Parker!"

"He's my best buddy!" a male classmate in the crowd proudly exclaimed.

Click—

Suddenly, mechanical tentacles emerged onto the bridge. Dr. Octopus violently shoved aside nearby cars.

"Peter! Peter!"

Dr. Octopus glared at the swinging red-and-blue figure and mercilessly hurled a car at him with one of his tentacles.

In an instant, Peter twisted his body, narrowly avoiding the incoming vehicle.

Confirming no one was inside, he fired a web from one hand to latch onto the airborne car while using his other hand to anchor himself to the bridge's framework.

Thwip!

Boom!

Spider-Man's strength was on full display. The car, spinning wildly under the force of his webbing, completed a loop before slamming violently back onto the bridge.

Kaboom!

The car, propelled by immense force, struck a stone pillar on the bridge's edge, crumbling it and sending Dr. Octopus flying off the bridge.

Seeing the crushed remains of his car, a man in the crowd screamed in horror, "No, that's the car I just bought on loan!"

Peter wasted no time, leaping down after Dr. Octopus, firing webs along the way to evade sneak attacks from the mechanical tentacles.

Bang! Bang!Crash!

Those on the bridge could only see the occasional tentacle smashing through concrete or tearing apart cars, only to retract swiftly beneath the bridge.

The battle below the bridge was hidden from view, but the ferocity could easily be imagined.

Watching the scene, Xia Luo rubbed his chin thoughtfully and nodded.

The older Peter Parker, now middle-aged, was still in his prime. His strength showed no signs of waning, and his combat experience was unparalleled.

From past to present, Spider-Man had never aimed to kill Dr. Octopus—not then, and not now.

This time was no different.

Before long, Dr. Octopus, his tentacles violently twisted and tangled together, was thrown back onto the bridge. Peter followed, landing in front of Xia Luo.

"Peter, either you kill me, or you'll regret it!" Dr. Octopus, covered in dust and looking haggard, roared defiantly.

Peter didn't respond.

He exhaled heavily, turned to Xia Luo, and asked, "What's next?"

Xia Luo opened a portal. "I'm taking you to see Iron Man."

"Iron Man?"

Peter looked puzzled as he dragged Dr. Octopus toward the portal. "What's that? Some kind of metal man?"

"You should watch more news."

"Sorry, I've gotten used to not watching the news. You know how busy I am with work."

"Still delivering pizzas lately?"

"No, it's my newspaper job. I finally got a full-time position."

"Jonah actually gave you a full-time job? That's weird."

"Yeah, he's been acting strange lately. He even said nice things about Spider-Man in front of me."

"We're here."

The portal closed, and the two of them appeared directly in Tony Stark's armor laboratory.

"Peter?"

Seeing Peter, Infinite Tony's face lit up with delight.

But his expression quickly shifted to confusion.

"You're not Peter. The younger Peter doesn't have a beer belly." Tony scrutinized the older Peter.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Peter rubbed his stomach and took off his mask.

"Hi, I'm Peter. Do you know Spider-Man?" He glanced at the lab's extravagant design, clearly a little uneasy.

Tony immediately understood.

"Alright, Spider-Man from another universe. Why did you bring this octopus here?"

Tony stood and examined the disgruntled Dr. Octopus before shaking his head. "I've been off seafood lately."

"You damn bastard, what did you just say?!"

Dr. Octopus shouted angrily, only to have his mouth webbed shut by Xia Luo.

"This guy is being controlled by his mechanical tentacles. We need you to make a new control chip."

Mid-sentence, Xia Luo suddenly remembered something.

He reached into his pants and fished around before pulling out a spare chip previously gifted to him by Dr. Otto Octavius.

"I think I have this." Xia Luo grinned.

Tony's eye twitched. "You're not wearing your suit, so why do you still like to stash things there?"

"Force of habit."

Xia Luo circled around Dr. Octopus and roughly replaced the control chip.

Buzz—

Electric sparks flickered from the new chip as the mechanical tentacles gradually calmed down.

Dr. Octopus's wild gaze also softened.

"I... I feel fine now."

He looked up at Peter. "Kid, did I lose control again?"

Peter squatted down. "It should be okay now."

Tony shook his head at the sight.

"So, you don't need my help anymore, do you?" He turned to Xia Luo.

Xia Luo grinned. "Oh, we definitely still need you. Beyond inherently evil versions of Dr. Octopus, some are only controlled because their chips were damaged. I need your resources to mass-produce these chips."

Tony nodded. "Alright, I'll have Happy coordinate with you. But he's probably busy comforting May right now. Since Peter's missing, Happy might not have time."

Even so, Tony called Happy.

"Happy, how's it going?"

Tony asked, only to see Happy's stiff expression on the screen.

"Tony, I think I've become a third wheel."

"What?" Tony frowned. "May has a boyfriend?"

He instinctively glanced at Xia Luo.

Xia Luo shrugged. "In my universe, Aunt May is with Uncle Ben. If Happy can't win over this universe's Aunt May, I can introduce him to other single Aunt Mays from alternate universes."

"You're welcome."

The screen showed Happy cautiously glancing at someone beside him. "No, it's… it's complicated."

"Yes, very complicated."

Before Happy could explain further, he was violently shoved aside. Replacing him was a middle-aged man with dark circles under his eyes and a menacing expression.

"Tony Stark, your friend dares to pursue my wife. Do you know what kind of behavior that is?"

The man bore a striking resemblance to Ben Parker, about seventy to eighty percent similar to how Xia Luo remembered him. But it was clear from his demeanor—this was no hero.

Infinite Tony quickly sensed that something was off.

"I see now. People connected to Spider-Man include Ben Parker too. But your wife isn't this world's May. I advise you to think carefully about the consequences of angering Spider-Man."

With Xia Luo present, Tony displayed no restraint in his remarks.

Unsurprisingly, the statement infuriated the Ben Parker on the screen.

He sneered, tilting the camera to show a tightly bound May. "Consequences of angering Spider-Man? Why don't you tell me?"

Tony remained silent, but the older Peter Parker and Dr. Octopus exchanged uneasy looks.

They had spotted a flicker of magical sparks within the screen.

"Allow me to explain."

Xia Luo's voice was cold and distant, and Ben's expression shifted to shock.

"What?"

The next second, a deafening explosion sounded, and the screen went black.

Tony shrugged. "Well, someone beat me to it."

The older Peter pondered for a moment. "Something seems wrong with Uncle Ben. I need to check on him."

"I think you should calm down," Dr. Octopus advised. "That's not your Uncle Ben. You should understand—no Ben Parker can replace the one in your heart."

Peter froze at the words.

"You're right. No one can replace Uncle Ben—not even another Ben Parker."

Tony glanced at the two of them, then turned to his experimental machines.

"Well, since Happy's unavailable, I'll handle this myself. Mr. Octopus, please lie down—I need to inspect your body and, of course, your chip."

---

Queens Apartment

Boom!!

The sound of shattering glass erupted as a disheveled figure was violently thrown from the room, landing in the greenery below.

Inside the wrecked living room, Happy stared at the massive fist in front of him. Following the arm upward, his gaze settled on Xia Luo's face.

"What incredible strength! Young man, what's your name? Interested in joining the Avengers?" Happy exclaimed in amazement.

Xia Luo glanced at him indifferently. "You should focus on untying Aunt May. And if some scarred guy applies to join the Avengers someday, make sure to reject him—he's bad news."

"Uh…"

Happy didn't fully understand, but he knew better than to waste time. He quickly ran over and began untying May. "Are you okay?" he asked with concern.

Still shaken, May shook her head. Her gaze drifted to Xia Luo's retreating figure, her expression complicated.

"He reminds me of Peter."

"Peter?" Happy froze in surprise.

Before he could process her words, they both saw Xia Luo leap off the balcony.

"Wait! This is the 18th floor!" Happy cried out in alarm. He rushed to the balcony and was left speechless.

"It's Peter—no, it's Spider-Man!"

May joined him and looked down just in time to witness the scene.

In mid-air, red-and-blue nanometal rapidly enveloped Xia Luo's body, the faint blue glow of his eyes igniting.

Swinging through the air on webs, Spider-Man landed on the grass. Nearby, the fallen Ben Parker stood up, laughing maniacally.

"Spider-Man! What a coincidence!"

Ben clenched his jaw, and grotesque, spider-like bone spurs erupted from his limbs. His pupils turned crimson, sharp fangs gleamed in his mouth, and clusters of eyes swelled grotesquely on his forehead.

As his body expanded, his clothes tore apart, revealing a monstrous figure resembling a twisted version of Spider-Man.

"I am Spider-Man too!!"

The mutated Ben roared, saliva spraying as his voice echoed.

Suddenly, the ground beneath his feet exploded, propelling him toward Xia Luo in a blur.

"No!!"

Terrified onlookers scattered, only to be drawn back by the monster's scream.

They turned to see Spider-Man slamming the monster's head into the ground, dragging it back and forth across the dirt.

"Argh! Damn you! Let me go!"

"I'll throw dirt in your eye!"

"Oh no!!"

The wails were deafening as Ben staggered backward, clutching his bleeding eyes.

"Damn bug! Can't you tell the difference between throwing dirt and rubbing it in?!"

Xia Luo grabbed Ben by the throat. "You look more like a bug than I do now."

With that, he casually flung the monstrous Ben aside, sending him crashing into a fire hydrant. Water burst into the air as the red-and-blue figure advanced, every step deliberate.

Drip, drip.

Water rolled off the surface of his metal suit in streams.

In the rain, the triangular eyes of his mask glowed ominously.

Spider-Man had "multiplied."

"Oh my God, it's Uncle Ben!"

"Dear Lord, how could we do this to him?"

"Who did this?!"

"Open your bug eyes—that's not Uncle Ben, it's Ben Spider."

"Clearly a villain!"

"Get him!"

"Wait, I can't do it."

"I'll cover your eyes—problem solved."

"Thanks."

And so, under Aunt May's horrified gaze, nine Spider-Man clones swarmed the monstrous Ben, kicking him relentlessly.

"Oh no, this is too cruel!"

"My God, what kind of Spider-Man is this?"

The onlookers couldn't bear to watch.

Nine seconds later, the battered Ben lay in a pit, barely alive, his face bruised and swollen. Struggling to open one eye, he croaked, "You… you win."

Xia Luo stared silently at Ben, unmoving.

As he took another step forward, a red-and-blue figure swung down from above.

"No, wait! Stop! That's Uncle Ben—you can't treat him like this. After all, we're all Peter, right?"

The sudden appearance of another Spider-Man made Ben's body tremble.

He stared at Xia Luo in disbelief. "Peter… You're Peter? No, impossible. Peter is dead. It's me…"

The name "Peter" seemed to trigger something buried deep in his memories.

Trembling, he collapsed back into the pit, clutching his head in anguish.

"No… It's me. It's me. I ate him… No!!"

The monstrous Ben sobbed, blood and tears streaming down his face.

Xia Luo froze mid-motion, his raised hand hovering in the air.

No matter who donned the Spider-Man suit, it seemed they all carried haunting pasts.

As Xia Luo hesitated, the other Spider-Man approached, seemingly to comfort his "Uncle Ben."

Before he could act, a sinister totem burst from the ground and surged into Ben's body.

Crack—

"Damn it!"

Xia Luo's expression shifted as he dashed toward Ben Parker, only to find a dried-up husk.

The gray leech-like totem burrowed into the ground, and Xia Luo's gaze turned sharp.

"Trying to escape?"

Zzzzap—

A crimson beam shot from Xia Luo, slicing through the ground and burrowing deep below. A shrill scream echoed from within.

Boom rumble—

The ground trembled as a familiar figure burst forth from the earth.

"Damn bug! What kind of webbing is this?"

The resurrected Rena stood before him, her body partially charred, with gruesome, rotting flesh covering the right side of her face. Despite her mangled appearance, her expression remained defiant as she glared at Xia Luo.

Xia Luo's eyes flickered. Wasn't she taken out by Gwen with a single strike?

Ignoring her demand for an answer, he flickered forward in a blur, appearing right in front of her.

Thwack—

With a single palm strike, the illusory totem power binding her was forcibly torn away and dissipated in the wind.

"No soul?"

Xia Luo's eyes widened in surprise as Rena's body dissolved into a puddle of goo.

So, she escaped after all.

Xia Luo turned to glance at Ben Parker's desiccated remains, shaking his head slightly.

Another "resurrection round" participant added to the roster.

Meanwhile, another Spider-Man knelt before the husk. "Uncle Ben…"

It had taken so much effort to reunite with an Uncle Ben, only for him to be killed again by some mysterious force.

There was no greater heartbreak for Spider-Man.

Xia Luo reached out to pat his shoulder.

Before he could say a word of comfort, the Spider-Man shook his head.

"No need to console me. I know you're hurting inside too."

Xia Luo considered this for a moment before responding. "Actually, my Uncle Ben's alive."

Spider-Man: "..."

Suddenly, as if a realization hit him, the Spider-Man exclaimed, "You're Xia Luo—Xia Luo Parker!"

Xia Luo raised an eyebrow. "You've heard the story of the Invincible Spider-Man?"

"Yes! You beat me up not too long ago."

"Oh, I remember now. You're the Spider-Man from the Spider-Verse Alliance."

"That's right. How's Harry?"

"He was doing well at first."

"You overcame fate. Congratulations."

"Not exactly. He was later killed by Gwen."

"What?"

The Spider-Man looked aghast. "Was it over a love triangle?"

"Do you have to joke at a time like this?"

"Sorry."

"It's fine. Go find Miguel and let him handle the influx of Spider-Men here."

"Apologies again, but my traversal device isn't working. Something's sealing this place—it's a one-way barrier."

"Is that so?"

Xia Luo's heart sank. He instructed him to head to Stark Tower to find Tony, then tested interdimensional travel with his golden spider device.

Bzzz—

A golden portal slowly opened, revealing nothing but the same chaotic streets on the other side.

The portal had failed.

What kind of forbidden magic had been used?

A sense of foreboding crept into Xia Luo.

To rip open a rift in time and space and seal an entire universe…

Could this really be the work of a dark Stephen Strange?

A sudden sense of urgency gripped Xia Luo, though he had no clear starting point to address it.

For now, he buried Ben Parker's corpse.

When he turned around, he saw Happy and Aunt May watching him anxiously. He waved reassuringly.

"Hey, it's fine now. You two should head to Tony's place for safety. There are plenty of Spider-Men there—you'll be alright."

As he spoke, Xia Luo opened another portal and vanished.

According to the original storyline, Aunt May would've been blown up by the Green Goblin by now.

But since Aunt May had survived, that meant Spider-Man was in danger.

Life and the Web of Destiny had a way of demanding balance—one of the two had to die.

Which meant there was a good chance the third Peter was gone.

Back in the basement, Xia Luo mulled over these thoughts. Suddenly, a wave of exhaustion washed over him.

Closing his eyes, he drifted into sleep.

---

He found himself on Black Street.

The familiar street corner and a familiar girl were waiting for him to come home.

"They're fighting again. I'm so hungry."

A young Mary Jane stood at the door, clutching her stomach with a pitiful expression.

Xia Luo glanced at Mary Jane's house and chuckled. "You could knock on the door. Aunt May and the others are probably home."

"They're not."

"Oh, maybe they snuck out to go clubbing."

"I'm hungry."

"Alright, come in."

As he opened the door, a strange feeling struck him.

"Seems like I forgot to buy groceries."

He facepalmed in frustration and turned to Mary Jane. "We'll eat out. Wait—who are you?"

Standing before him was Mary Jane, now grown into a striking young woman. Xia Luo's lips twitched.

This is over the top, he thought, but quickly brushed the thought aside.

The now-teenaged Mary Jane squinted her eyes with a mischievous smile. "I already set up a meeting with Annie for tomorrow. You promised to treat me to a fancy meal."

Xia Luo rolled his eyes. "What Annie? I'm not interested in her at all."

"You were clearly staring at her earlier today."

"I was just interested in her designer handbag."

"A man who likes handbags?"

"No, I just like money."

The two bantered as Xia Luo absentmindedly wandered into the kitchen.

"Wait, what were we doing again?" he asked, confused.

Mary Jane sighed and rolled her eyes. "You're treating me to dinner."

"Did I promise that?"

"Of course," Xia Luo replied.

"Alright, I remembered—we're eating out."

"You don't have any money."

"Of course, I do! I've made a fortune off nanotech royalties. Wait… maybe I don't."

Xia Luo fished around in his pockets, his face blank with confusion.

"That's strange. Am I broke again?"

"Let's go. My treat. You've always been broke anyway."

Mary Jane hooked her arm around Xia Luo's and pulled him out the door.

"Wait, I need to lock the door."

---

In front of a store window, Mary Jane gazed at a red dress on display, her eyes sparkling with delight.

"I've had my eye on this dress for ages," she said, glancing at Xia Luo.

Xia Luo let out an indifferent "Oh" and pointed at the discount store across the street.

"I think the clothes over there would suit you better."

"Still such a cheapskate."

Mary Jane pouted before dragging Xia Luo along to continue shopping.

"This feels like the first time we've gone shopping together," she remarked with a smile.

Xia Luo thought about it and said, "Actually, no man likes shopping with women. I'm just being myself."

"You're no fun to talk to."

Mary Jane huffed and let go of his arm, running ahead.

In the golden light of the setting sun, she twirled in her favorite red dress, her silhouette fading into the glow.

Xia Luo stood still, watching the scene in silence.

He didn't know how much time had passed before a soft chuckle escaped him.

"So that's it. I understand now."

The dreamscape dissolved. Xia Luo's eyes snapped open, finding himself back on his web hammock.

Right in front of him, MJ was peering at him through a magnifying glass.

"What are you doing?" Xia Luo asked, his face expressionless.

Startled, MJ jerked back, patting her chest in relief.

"I noticed some Peters look a lot alike, so I wanted to see what's similar between you and the Peter I know."

"Sorry, but I'm not interested in being analyzed by you."

Xia Luo stood and stretched, but MJ suddenly asked, "What's up with Mary Jane?"

"What about her?"

"You were talking in your sleep just now."

"Damn! What did I say?" Xia Luo's face darkened.

It wasn't intentional.

But someone out there was being way too nosy.

MJ laughed. "Not much, really. By the way, Peter's looking for you. The tall, handsome one."

"Which one?"

"The really tall and handsome one."

"Got it. Where is he?"

"Next door."

---

Xia Luo entered the cluttered room and immediately spotted a giant white cocoon wrapped tightly in webs.

"Are you guys… breeding spiderlings?" he asked the two Peters present.

The second Peter shook his head. "That's Professor Connors. I ran into him outside and brought him here. I wanted to ask if you could cure him like you did with Otto."

"That's not inviting him—it's kidnapping."

Xia Luo approached, poking the cocoon with his finger. A stream of muffled curses erupted from within.

"Damn it, Peter, let me go!"

Irritated, Xia Luo casually knocked the cocoon over. "I've got experience treating cases like his, and I've passed it all to Tony. We should have results soon."

"Wow, Xia Luo, you seem to be able to do everything," the second Peter said excitedly.

Xia Luo waved dismissively. "It's nothing. In my world, villains like him are small fry. If I don't defeat a few each day, I can't sleep at night."

At the mention of sleep, the two Peters exchanged glances, thinking about Xia Luo's sleep-talking.

"So, how's it going with Mary Jane?" the older Peter asked, clearly concerned.

Xia Luo's face stiffened. "She's not hanging out in bars, not working in musicals, and definitely not cheating—you get it."

The older Peter fell silent for a moment.

"She's not a bad person," he said suddenly, almost as if defending her.

Xia Luo groaned, covering his face. "You're hopeless."

The second Peter seemed to be lost in his own thoughts, thinking of someone else entirely.

"Our relationship's been so rocky. If I could turn back time, I'd never let go of her hand," he said with determination.

Xia Luo considered his words. "That's partly on me. I should've warned you not to use webbing to save people in certain situations."

"I'll remember that," the second Peter replied, his voice tinged with sorrow.

"It's time," Xia Luo said, glancing at the clock on the wall. He raised his hand, opening a portal.

"Let's deal with these troublesome villains first. After that, things should get easier."

The gathered Spider-Men all agreed with the plan.

"Yes, let's do it!" the second Peter said with a fist pump.

The older Peter stretched his back. "With great power comes great responsibility. I'm not tired at all."

"I'm exhausted," Xia Luo quipped.

The trio stepped through the portal. Xia Luo turned to the older Peter. "How about we rest while you handle this alone?"

The older Peter hesitated, confused. "Is that supposed to be a joke?"

"Of course."

---

Standing atop a towering building, Xia Luo dusted off his hands.

"It's showtime, friends."

"Oh boy~"

With that, Xia Luo led the charge, leaping off the building. The other two followed closely behind.

Thwip!

Whoosh!

The wind roared as the three Spider-Men swung through the skyscrapers, using each other's webs to propel themselves forward.

The thrill of it all filled them with excitement.

"Wow, I never thought we could do this!"

"Yeah, it's incredible."

"Wait, I see something—a giant scorpion. Anyone here with experience?"

"Not me."

"I've fought one before. Leave it to me."

Xia Luo dove toward the target.

One minute later, three red-and-blue figures continued swinging through the cityscape.

"That's Doctor Octopus," the older Peter announced, spotting a green-clad figure below.

The second Peter perched on a high wall and frowned. "A green fatty? He's not what I expected."

"This one's in my wheelhouse," Xia Luo said confidently, adjusting his mask with a flourish.

"Impressive!" The second Peter gave him a thumbs-up. "Xia Luo, you've fought just about every kind of enemy. You're amazing."

"Not a big deal. I've even fought aliens," Xia Luo replied.

"Aliens? I'm so jealous! I've never faced anything like that."

The older Peter chimed in, "I have. A black symbiote—it was alien too."

Xia Luo crossed his arms. "Haha, I encountered one too, but I won it over with love."

"Oh my gosh, Xia Luo! You're my idol—I've never managed to do that," the second Peter said, stars practically sparkling in his eyes.

"Not a big deal," Xia Luo said, waving modestly. "This is what being Spider-Man is all about."

With that, he led the charge to beat up Doctor Octopus and transported him through a portal to Stark's "prison."

---

Three Hours Later

Xia Luo smashed Mysterio's glass helmet underfoot, then casually tossed the villain into another portal.

"How many does that make?" he asked.

The older Peter counted on his fingers. "Eighteen."

He leaned against the staircase railing, stretching his back. "I think I'm done. My back's killing me. Can you help me out?" he asked the second Peter.

"No problem."

The second Peter pressed gently on the older Peter's back and asked curiously, "When did you get this injury?"

The older Peter exhaled. "Back when my powers suddenly disappeared. I fell from a high place and landed on my back."

"Your powers disappeared?"

The second Peter was confused and turned to Xia Luo. "Have you ever had something like that happen?"

Xia Luo shrugged. "Early on, my spider-sense would suddenly go offline."

"What about now?"

"Totally reliable."

"Congrats!"

As they continued capturing villains, the three chatted casually, sharing their experiences.

---

From their vantage point, they witnessed a chaotic battle at an unfinished building.

Mechanical tentacles lashed out, sending debris flying. A bald man on a glider sneered as he hurled pumpkin bombs.

Boom!

The explosion lit up the night as another Green Goblin circled overhead, giving a thumbs-up to the bald man.

"That's it, son! Take him down! Let Spider-Man know we're not to be trifled with!"

He cackled as giant lizards crawled up the building, converging on the explosion's epicenter from all directions.

On a nearby rooftop, the three Spider-Men stayed hidden, observing the scene.

"Who are they targeting?" the older Peter wondered aloud.

"Probably another Spider-Man," the second Peter speculated.

Xia Luo scanned the nearby streets. "More reinforcements are coming."

The chaos intensified as Lizardmen and Rhino charged toward the unfinished building, while shadowy figures swooped down from the night sky to join the fray.

But strangely, the "Spider-Man" in the building never showed himself.

"Is he hurt?"

The older Peter hesitated. "We should help him."

"Wait, something feels off."

Xia Luo raised a hand, stopping him.

The next moment, an invisible force radiated from the building, distorting the air and enveloping everyone nearby—including the three of them.

Suddenly, a wave of exhaustion hit them.

"I… I feel so sleepy," the second Peter muttered before collapsing.

The older Peter followed suit shortly after.

Xia Luo managed to stay awake a little longer, watching as the villains also dropped to the ground. Shadowy drones swooped in from the sky, swiftly capturing the unconscious foes.

"Hey, you're still up?"

A floating drone stopped in front of Xia Luo, and Infinite Tony's voice came through the speakers.

"Someone tipped us off to pick these guys up. Was that you?"

Xia Luo shook his dizzy head. "What do you think?"

With that, he collapsed as well.

Infinite Tony: "…"

He shrugged. "Wow. Spider-Man sure knows how to sleep. Steve would be jealous."

---

Stark's Lab

In the lab, an elderly Steve Rogers with dark circles under his eyes yelled into a communicator.

"I haven't dared sleep at all!"

"It has to be her—the one with the power to drag people into dreams. We must catch her!"

"Steve, calm down," Tony replied through the drone. "She's probably on our side. You should consider apologizing."

"Never! She's ruined me! I—wait, do I need to bring a gift for the apology?"

Steve opened his banking app, checking his balance.
