Restart, Spider-Man!

Chapter 256: Restart, Spider-Man! [256]

Boom!

In the night sky, a streak of faint light streaked rapidly toward the scene.

Simultaneously, the Darkhold above Dark Stephen's head continued to flip its sinister pages, unleashing chains of darkness that shot out in all directions.

Clang~

The dark chains swept across the ocean, colliding with bursts of scarlet energy in a terrifying eruption.

Amid this clash of crimson and darkness, Wanda could sense the power she desired emanating from Dark Stephen's Darkhold.

But she had only recently obtained the Darkhold and lacked the ease with which Dark Stephen wielded its powers.

As the dark energy surged further under his control, Dark Stephen lashed out with the chains, utterly dissipating Wanda's scarlet energy.

Boom!!

"Wanda!"

Old Steve Rogers cried out, watching helplessly as Wanda plummeted into the ocean.

Just then, the faint light in the sky surged forward with blinding speed. In an instant, it became a streaking white blur, diving down to catch Wanda before she hit the water.

At that moment, Wanda stared at the pale visage before her, momentarily stunned.

"Vision?"

Even Infinite Tony was taken aback. "He's alive again?"

A genuine smile spread across his face at the thought of the two reuniting.

However, Old Steve noticed something off.

"No, this white figure doesn't seem to be Vision."

"What?"

Tony looked at him in disbelief, but Wanda's reaction confirmed it. Her brief moment of surprise gave way to cold indifference.

"You're not him. This has nothing to do with you!"

Without hesitation, scarlet energy erupted from her hands, forcing White Vision away. She then turned her focus back to Dark Stephen.

At the same time, Xia Luo's clone was once again shattered by the dark chains. The diminutive figure quietly climbed onto White Vision's shoulder.

"Hey, you're really white! Ever thought about getting some paint? I'd recommend my red-and-blue combo—it screams 'superhero' at first glance!" Xia Luo quipped, waving nonchalantly.

White Vision's expression remained blank. He simply stared at Wanda's retreating figure in silence.

"My heart tells me I should help her," he said softly.

Xia Luo shrugged. "Alright, I get it."

During the Westview Incident, S.W.O.R.D. had extracted a fragment of Wanda's magic and used it to resurrect Vision's body, turning him into a cold, unfeeling machine.

Thus, White Vision was created, possessing the same powers as the original Vision.

When he arrived in Westview with the intent to eliminate the frenzied Wanda, the Vision conjured by Wanda's Chaos Magic intervened. In the ensuing confrontation, Red Vision unlocked White Vision's memories, awakening his consciousness.

Ultimately, White Vision left Westview, disappearing without a trace.

Now, of all times, he had reappeared.

The real Vision was gone, and in Wanda's heart, White Vision could never replace her husband.

Following the trope of melodrama, White Vision was likely to be reduced to a lovesick fool, driven by Red Vision's lingering memories.

And that's exactly what happened.

Seeing Wanda struggling under the pressure of Dark Stephen's Darkhold, White Vision could no longer stand idly by.

Boom!

In a flash, the blue gem on White Vision's forehead unleashed a powerful laser beam.

Zzzz~

The laser pierced the Darkhold, but the ripples it caused barely disrupted its operations.

Seeing this, White Vision charged at the Darkhold with his body.

As he moved, Xia Luo's figure expanded in the interplay of light and shadow on his shoulder.

Zzzz~

Scarlet rays streaked across the sky, scattering the dark energy. But even these rays failed to tear through the Darkhold—it was as though the book existed outside this dimension, impervious to any interference.

Boom!

As White Vision's body collided with the Darkhold, Dark Stephen glanced at him and smirked.

"Another one? Vibranium body, impressive. But still, too weak."

With a wave of his hand, dark energy surged once more. The Darkhold flipped to another page, summoning a demonic claw that emerged from the void, instantly seizing White Vision.

Crack~

Under the crushing force of the demonic claw, White Vision's body emitted groans of strain, his vaunted vibranium frame unable to absorb and transform the kinetic energy of dark magic.

At least in the cinematic universe, the vibranium body's performance had always been underwhelming.

"Hey, Dark Doctor, don't get too cocky."

A burst of fiery light tore through the night sky as Infinite Tony, clad in his upgraded nanotech armor, arrived on the scene.

With 31st-century tech integrated into the suit, the nanotech weaponry unleashed a torrent of electromagnetic energy. Yet, this devastating firepower was blocked entirely by a seemingly ordinary magical shield.

"This isn't your fight!" Dark Stephen roared, raising a hand. Dark tendrils shot up from the ocean's surface.

"Oh, at times like this, I almost miss fighting Thanos," Tony quipped, activating his suit's defensive systems and weaving through the dark tendrils. He launched energy blasts in quick succession to disrupt the enemy.

"Looks like it's my turn to step in," came a resigned voice.

At the coastal villa, Bruce Banner sighed.

Old Steve Rogers gave him an encouraging nod. "Go for it! Show us the power of Hulk and Banner combined!"

"Don't get your hopes up," Banner muttered, heading for the lab.

"What are you doing?" Old Steve asked, puzzled.

"Tony prepped an upgraded version of the Hulkbuster for me."

Steve blinked. "…Oh."

He stared blankly at Banner's slightly dejected back, lost in thought.

Ever since the final battle, everyone had changed so much.

Hulk had willingly sacrificed his freedom to merge with Banner, his once untamed rage gradually worn away. Without his anger, Banner had lost the combat prowess he once wielded.

Tony, though armed with 31st-century technology, had been devoting most of his time to his wife and child, leaving his armor upgrades lagging far behind their previous pace.

Wanda, her family destroyed, was always on the verge of another breakdown.

The resurrected Natasha no longer fought with the same desperation.

Clint, after rescuing Tony, had returned to his modest suburban home, juggling family life and working tirelessly to pay off the mortgage.

Even Rhodey had been acting strangely, with no contact for some time.

As for Falcon and Bucky, one was preoccupied with proving himself, while the other sought redemption.

And him, Steve Rogers. After revisiting the past and correcting old regrets, successfully saving both Tony and Natasha, he had no lingering attachments left.

The only joy he found now was in the revival tournaments.

In those moments, he could once again feel the drive and passion of his youth.

But as the mysteries of the multiverse unraveled and meeting young Xia Luo became as easy as flipping a page, that passion quickly dissipated again.

Even now, when facing such a formidable enemy, he still viewed it all as a game.

Because he wasn't afraid of death.

No. He was afraid.

Every revival match filled him with dread—fear that Xia Luo might not complete the mission.

He couldn't bear to see Spider-Man once again fall into tragedy.

So yes, he was afraid of death.

Because he feared witnessing Spider-Man's loneliness firsthand.

And so—

Old Steve looked toward the collapsing Spider-Man clone in the night sky. His gaze grew resolute, the blue of his eyes shining brighter and brighter.

"How could I not fear death?!"

With a roar, the night sky above him crackled with thunder. Lightning danced wildly over the ocean, divine power from Asgard tearing through time and space. Countless pinpricks of light descended like a dazzling meteor shower.

Boom!

The thunder roared as Dark Stephen sensed the familiar divine energy. His expression darkened.

"What is that?"

"What is that?"

Among the dark tendrils, Xia Luo swung and leapt, glancing upward to see the brilliant meteor shower streaking toward the coastal villa.

"It's Thor's power!" Infinite Tony exclaimed with delight.

Xia Luo shook his head. "No. It's Steve's power."

Boom!

In the next moment, thunder erupted again. Countless meteor-like bolts of lightning coalesced into a battered Mjolnir in Old Steve's hand. The hammer's cracked surface surged with lightning, flowing into Steve's body, imbuing him with the power of Thor. He couldn't help but throw his head back and howl.

"Thank you, old friend. This is our second time fighting together."

Boom!

Thunder rumbled as a streak of lightning flared, growing ever brighter.

"What the—"

Boom!

The figure holding Mjolnir shot forward at breakneck speed, catching Dark Stephen off guard. His clone disintegrated in an instant.

"A fake?"

As lightning streaked across the ocean, Old Steve's gaze turned sharp. The blue glow in his eyes flickered as he raised the hammer high and leaped into the air.

"I've found you!"

Boom!

Lightning burst forth, distorting the void. Dark Stephen, hidden in the shadows, staggered into view, his face filled with shock.

"Impossible!"

"No! This can't be! It's just luck—die!"

Dark Stephen raised the Darkhold, its pages flipping wildly as dark lightning shot out in all directions.

Crackle~

Boom~~

At the same time, Old Steve lifted Mjolnir. The encroaching dark lightning was quickly converted into his own power under the blue arcs enveloping him.

"Newcomer to the revival tournament, you don't even know the weight of winning repeatedly!" Old Steve bellowed, the blue glow in his eyes replaced by arcs of electricity.

Now, divine thunder coursed through his body, while Mjolnir in his hand surged with renewed vitality. The cracks on its surface overflowed with lightning.

Rumble!!!

The legendary Mjolnir smashed into the darkness, causing the twisted void to fracture violently. The hidden Darkhold began to waver and falter.

Seeing this, even Xia Luo was stunned.

"Does the Marvel universe also run on belief-based power?"

By his reckoning, the shattered Mjolnir had been taken to the far reaches of space by Thor's ex-girlfriend. Summoning it from such a distance should've been impossible.

And yet, Old Steve had done it.

Infinite Tony raised an eyebrow. "What reward did this guy earn from the revival tournament that gave him the power of Thor?"

Beside him, Xia Luo shook his head. "He's never said exactly, but one thing's clear: Dark Stephen's magic is severely countered by Thor's powers."

Coincidentally, Xia Luo's own abilities were weakest in dealing with lightning-based powers.

His electrical arc form only enhanced his speed; it lacked the destructive force Steve wielded with such ease.

Thinking about it, Xia Luo sighed.

"This time, he really stole the spotlight."

As those words fell, Old Steve let out another thunderous shout.

"Lightning! Shatter the darkness!!"

Old Steve unleashed another surge of power. Lightning exploded outward, and the darkness began to dissolve at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"What?!"

Dark Stephen stared at the scene in utter disbelief. Desperation overtook him as he lunged toward his Darkhold.

It was his last hope.

The only chance he had to save Christine.

He couldn't lose it.

But a streak of scarlet light moved faster.

"It's mine now!" Wanda growled, her hand reaching for the Darkhold, her red eyes gleaming with ferocity.

"Stop her!"

Snapping back to his senses, Xia Luo transformed into an electric arc, darting toward the Darkhold. Simultaneously, Infinite Tony launched an electromagnetic net aimed at restraining Wanda.

But going all out against her? That was a line Tony couldn't bring himself to cross.

Wanda's expression twisted as she caught sight of Xia Luo charging her way.

"Get lost!!"

Scarlet energy surged forth, condensing into meteors that streaked toward Xia Luo with devastating force.

His muscles swelled as his red-and-blue body flared with tremendous power.

"Boom!"

With a single punch, the meteor shattered, its remnants scattering into a wave of scarlet magic. Even Wanda paused, startled by the blow.

"What terrifying strength!" she muttered, before propelling herself toward the Darkhold once again.

Unwilling to relent, Xia Luo leapt toward the Darkhold, flinging crimson energy beams at Wanda mid-flight.

Zzzz~

The beams split the sky in two, the sea below boiling from the intense heat. Wanda barely dodged in time, her face darkening in frustration.

"Damn bug, you're forcing my hand!"

With a snarl, Wanda unleashed a flood of chaotic magic, transforming the surrounding landscape into a hellish inferno.

"Hergh!!"

From beneath the magma, hordes of demons surged toward Xia Luo, intent on tearing him apart.

It clicked in Xia Luo's mind.

Chaos magic could never have been a match for dark magic in sheer rawness—this whole time, she'd been waiting for the right moment!

"You! You've been tricking us all along!" he shouted, launching his spatial webbing to swing through the air, narrowly evading one magma demon after another as he raced toward the Darkhold.

"It's over, bug," Wanda said, a cruel smile curling her lips. Scarlet light flared in her eyes as strands of her magic transformed into ribbons, binding Xia Luo's body mid-flight.

Crack~

Rip!!

Chaos magic shredded Xia Luo's suit with ease, leaving his skin exposed to the tendrils of her scarlet power.

Suspended high in the air, Xia Luo could feel his body teetering on the edge of being torn apart. He clenched his teeth, his muscles bulging as his internal stellar energy burned rapidly.

So this is real chaos magic…

Mock Thanos. Understand Thanos. Become Thanos.

And so—

"Never mess with a woman on a rampage!!"

"Spidey!"

Hearing Xia Luo's cry, Old Steve froze in alarm.

"Wanda, stop this!"

He raised Mjolnir to intervene but faltered as dark tendrils emerged from the sea, wrapping tightly around his ankles. No matter how he swung the hammer, the unending tendrils refused to break.

"Damn it, let go of me!"

Old Steve slammed Mjolnir into Dark Stephen's back, lightning surging. But the residual power of Thor's hammer had weakened, allowing Dark Stephen to endure through sheer grit.

"Ugh—"

Coughing up blood, Dark Stephen clung to Steve's leg, laughing maniacally.

"Hahaha, yes, that's it! Kill Spider-Man, finish that damn bug, and I'll give you the Darkhold!" he shouted at Wanda.

Wanda turned her head, her gaze icy.

"I can take it myself. I don't need you to give it to me."

She glanced at Old Steve before refocusing on Xia Luo. With a flick of her hand, the scarlet magic ribbons tightened their grip on him but stopped short of dismembering him.

"Don't worry. I won't kill him. I only want the book."

Slowly, she floated toward the Darkhold, her heart pounding with anticipation.

Once she had the Darkhold, she could journey to the world she dreamed of.

Her children would return to her side.

She would no longer be alone.

As her hand reached out, a ray of light broke through the sea's surface.

Warm sunlight spilled across the battlefield, its sudden brilliance startling Wanda. Instinctively, she raised a hand to shield her eyes.

Her life had been shrouded in darkness for so long that she yearned for sunlight.

And yet, she despised it.

The light was beautiful, but it didn't belong to her.

It was a luxury she could no longer afford.

She had avoided the daylight for so long.

But as the sunlight appeared, a certain someone began to stir.

"Light."

Scarlet energy swirled around Xia Luo, who caught a glimpse of the sunlight breaking through. Without hesitation, he stretched out his hand.

"It's here, it's here," he murmured, letting the warm light flood his body. The golden radiance replenished his drained energy, quickly healing his torn skin. The violet streaks on his body were replaced by dazzling gold.

In an instant, Xia Luo erupted with brilliant light, the spider emblem on his chest sparking violently before exploding outward.

Boom!!!

The sound reverberated as the scarlet energy disintegrated. Wanda's expression shifted in shock.

Before she could react, Xia Luo's hand had already grabbed hold of the Darkhold.

"No!!"

Wanda cried out, her hand clutching the other side of the book.

"It's mine!!" she screamed, unleashing a torrent of scarlet energy that enveloped the battlefield.

Xia Luo refused to back down. The spider emblem on his chest pulsed and exploded repeatedly, briefly allowing him to stand on equal footing with her chaos magic.

Above the ocean, scarlet energy and Xia Luo's red-and-blue magic divided the sky in two.

But despite the fierce tug-of-war, the Darkhold didn't rip apart as they had expected.

Whoosh~~

The pages of the book fluttered in the howling wind, and two dark chains shot out, wrapping themselves around both combatants.

"Hahaha! You're done for!" Dark Stephen cackled madly. "You think you can control the Darkhold? This thing isn't meant for you to wield! As long as its master doesn't grant permission, your fate is to be devoured by darkness."

Hearing this, Wanda faltered.

She tried to resist but felt the book transforming into an abyss, one that ignored her chaos magic and dragged her inch by inch into its black void.

Xia Luo was equally helpless, his struggles futile.

Then, a small golden spider emerged from a rift, crawling onto Xia Luo's body. Its golden web began to spread rapidly.

With Dark Stephen defeated, the forbidden magic lost its grip.

The power of space and time surged back into control.

Buzz~

In a flash of golden light, Xia Luo vanished from where he stood.

One remaining chain snapped toward Wanda, wrapping around her more tightly than before, leaving her even more immobilized.

"Wanda!"

Old Steve tried to intervene, but something felt off.

Wanda suddenly stopped struggling. The Darkhold's pages slowly closed.

"What?"

Dark Stephen's eyes widened, and he clutched his head in a fit of rage.

"How can this be? Why?! WHY?!"

But the answer came soon enough.

Buzz~

As Wanda raised her hand, a second Darkhold materialized, resting in her palm.

"'Permission denied?'" Wanda laughed coldly, turning to Dark Stephen. "It agreed long ago."

Boom!!!

In an instant, both Darkholds merged into her body. The sky was once again consumed by endless darkness as black energy surged and spread.

The sunlight disappeared, and Xia Luo felt exhaustion creeping back into his limbs.

Old Steve gritted his teeth and glared at Dark Stephen. "This is all your fault, you bastard! Don't let me see you again!"

With that, he swung Mjolnir and smashed Dark Stephen's head, shattering it entirely.

Dark Stephen's death brought no solace, as an even more terrifying enemy had now emerged.

High above, Wanda absorbed the Darkhold's dark energy with her scarlet magic. The fusion of the two magics created an overwhelming force.

Scarlet magic, now tainted by darkness, radiated from her being as she closed her eyes, relishing her newfound power.

But her smile quickly faded.

While the Darkhold detailed spells for traversing the multiverse and sealing entire universes, mastering its contents would take time and practice—time she didn't have.

She couldn't wait any longer.

There was a simpler way.

Her gaze fell on Xia Luo, a sinister smile creeping across her face.

"Golden Spider-Man, lend me your power," she demanded.

Before her words could fully register, scarlet energy shot toward Xia Luo like a tidal wave.

"So fast!"

Old Steve couldn't react in time. But just as the energy closed in, golden light flickered, and Xia Luo disappeared.

Wanda looked up at the stars, her scarlet magic intensifying in her eyes.

"You can't escape!"

She surged skyward, chaos magic trailing behind her like a meteor streaking into the heavens.

Beyond the atmosphere, Xia Luo greedily absorbed stellar energy, rejuvenating himself.

When the scarlet meteor hurtled toward him, he didn't hesitate—he opened a space-time portal and disappeared into the multiverse.

---

Back at the coastal villa, Old Steve, now waiting fruitlessly for Xia Luo's return, finally lowered Mjolnir. The hammer flew off into the sky as he sighed deeply.

"This is going to be trouble," he muttered, his face heavy with worry.

Dragging Dark Stephen's lifeless body toward the lab, Infinite Tony spoke up. "Relax. Wanda probably can't catch that guy. Even if she kills him, he'll have a chance to come back."

Old Steve shook his head. "That's exactly why this is a problem."

"Without me, Steve Rogers, Little Spidey will be all alone in the revival tournament," he lamented, tilting his head back dramatically.

"Kill me now!!" he shouted at Tony.

Infinite Tony: "…"

---

Meanwhile, Xia Luo wasn't faring much better.

In a desolate, apocalyptic wasteland, his golden figure crashed into the side of an erupting volcano.

Boom!!

The volcano spewed fire and smoke into the air.

Below, in a desert city at the volcano's base, refugees stared up at the scarlet meteor descending from the sky, their faces filled with despair.

"Even the gods are falling?"

"There's no hope left in this world."

"Let it all end! Hahaha~"

Driven mad by hopelessness, the people succumbed to hysteria.

Amid the molten chaos, Xia Luo swam through the lava toward the shore, his face contorted with frustration.

"Damn it! How did she track me here?"

Even defending against her sneak attack had drained a tenth of his energy reserves.

Wanda, now possessing two Darkholds, was utterly terrifying.

Would Strange even stand a chance against her if this reached the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?

No. There might not even be a future.

Boom!!

Scarlet energy erupted at the volcano's peak, sending molten rock crashing down. The falling boulders hovered mid-air, encircling Wanda's dark red figure.

"Give me your power over space-time. I have no interest in killing Spider-Man," she said coldly.

She could see how much Steve cared for Xia Luo. Sparing him would be a way to repay Steve for saving her life long ago.

Xia Luo looked up at her, his expression unreadable. "At least you haven't completely lost your mind."

"Does it matter?"

"Not really."

Xia Luo clapped his hands together. "I can send you to a universe where Wanda is gone, but your children still exist. There, you can be a real mother."

Wanda's chaotic magic wavered slightly, and her face lit up with joy.

"Take me there. Quickly!"

"That'll take time," Xia Luo said, spreading his hands. "Give me a little while, and I'll find such a world."

The moment the words left his mouth, the malevolent glint returned to Wanda's eyes.

"I don't want to wait. I can't wait! I want my children now! I don't want to be alone anymore!!"

With a scream, she flung a massive scarlet meteor down toward him.

Boom!!

The volcano shook violently as searing lava burst into the sky, engulfing the heavens in black smoke.

Hovering above the desert city, Xia Luo brushed molten rock off his hand.

"In hindsight, maybe I should've just lied to her."

He shook his head and sighed. "Too bad Spider-Man doesn't lie, especially not to a grieving mother. How tragic!"

No sooner had he lamented this than scarlet energy surged behind him, and Wanda's figure emerged silently from the crimson mist.

"You'll be even more miserable," she said coldly.

"I know," Xia Luo replied, his lips twitching before vanishing in a flash of golden light.

A moment later, scarlet energy spread uncontrollably, and Xia Luo's golden form reappeared from the twisted void. A scarlet arrow glimmered faintly, embedded in his chest, but he felt no discomfort.

"So, this thing's been tracking me?" he muttered, deep in thought, before the scarlet energy overwhelmed him and sent him crashing into the city below.

Boom~

The impact obliterated a crumbling skyscraper, reducing it to rubble. Dust filled the air, and flames erupted from various corners of the city.

A robotic voice echoed across the chaos.

"To the two unknown entities: This is a city ruled by Tony Stark. Surrender immediately and lay down your weapons."

Numerous unmanned Iron Man suits aimed their laser weapons at Wanda in the sky. Xia Luo, peeking out from the ruins, found his forehead marked by infrared targeting lasers.

"Wow, Tony took over the world?" Xia Luo chuckled, brushing off his golden spider emblem. With a flash of golden light, he disappeared.

Wanda, however, didn't pursue him right away. Instead, her eyes fell on a group of trembling children huddled in a corner of the city. A flash of fury crossed her face.

"You scared the children. You'll pay for that."

With a wave of her hand, scarlet energy rippled outward, transforming the unmanned Iron Man suits into the children's favorite toys.

---

At Stark Tower, Xia Luo stood at the base, staring up at the towering building that pierced the clouds, his face full of awe.

"Flashy. Way too flashy. But something feels… off," he muttered, glancing around. Besides Stark Tower, most of the city's buildings had fallen into disrepair, their maintenance long neglected. The lifeless expressions of the citizens confirmed his unease.

But with Wanda closing in, Xia Luo had no time to dwell on it. If anyone could deal with Wanda, it'd be the Iron Man who rules the world.

He shook off his thoughts and stepped through a golden portal.

Buzz~

On the top floor, in a room as opulent as a palace, heaps of gold and jewels glimmered under the light. On a throne of solid gold sat Tony Stark, clad in golden armor, sipping wine while enjoying a massage from several attendants.

Suddenly, the attendants let out startled screams, and Tony's eyes snapped open.

The sight of a golden figure standing before him instantly enraged him.

"Who the hell gave you the right to wear gold? In this world, only I can wear gold!" Tony roared, waving his hand. Swarms of Iron Man drones swarmed toward Xia Luo, firing relentlessly.

"Oh my god. I think I get it now," Xia Luo muttered, releasing web-cutting beams to slice through the incoming drones. Surveying the tyrannical Tony Stark before him, he shook his head in disappointment.

"Well, this version of Tony is a full-on supervillain. That's… interesting."

Before Tony could summon more suits, scarlet energy materialized out of nowhere, coalescing into Wanda's elegant figure. The moment Tony saw her, his eyes sparkled with excitement.

"A woman with superpowers? You've officially caught my attention," he said, grinning.

Xia Luo: "…"

Seeing Wanda's look of disgust, Xia Luo seized the opportunity.

"Before we fight, how about we get rid of this nuisance first?"

Wanda hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

"Using drones to violently conquer the world only leaves children with the scars of war. I don't like it."

Her own childhood, after all, had been destroyed by war.

With those words, scarlet energy surged. Tony's screams echoed through the room as he writhed helplessly under her magic.

"Stop! If I die, all my drones across the world will self-destruct and wipe out every city!" Tony shouted desperately.

Wanda sneered. "What's that? 'If?'"

Her fingers curled, and the scarlet energy dissipated. Tony's terrified gaze locked onto his hands, which moved on their own to disable the drones' self-destruct program on the holographic interface.

"No! Impossible! What is this? I—"

"Want your life," Xia Luo interrupted, delivering a punch that shattered Tony's golden armor and ended the tyrant's reign.

[System Prompt: You played the friendly neighborhood hero, saving the world from Tony Stark's rule. Restart count +19.]

The notification flashed in Xia Luo's vision, and he smiled in satisfaction.

Finally, he had taken the backseat for once.

As the global drone network collapsed, hidden heroes began their rebellion. Outside the tower, Steve Rogers led the charge with refugees, storming Stark Tower for the sake of freedom.

Xia Luo, however, paid no attention to the commotion. Instead, he turned to Wanda with a faint smile.

"You're actually quite kind at heart."

Wanda glared at him. "Too bad I'm not kind to you."

Xia Luo: "…"

"Fine. Goodbye."

With a flash of golden light, Xia Luo's form was swallowed by the power of space-time.

---

Oscorp Tower

On the rooftop, Xia Luo stumbled as scarlet energy shattered his golden shield. He nearly fell off the edge.

Looking down, he saw the faint glow of the scarlet arrow on his chest fade before vanishing. Finally, he understood—he had been marked.

No matter where he ran, Wanda could use chaos magic and the Darkhold to track him.

This was bad.

As scarlet energy gathered once more, Xia Luo's face twisted in despair. His mind flashed back to an old meme about GG endings.

"Why are you chasing me?" he cried.

"I want your power," Wanda replied coldly.

Xia Luo: "…"

Below, a crowd had gathered, shouting up at the rooftop.

"Don't do anything rash!"

"Everything will get better!"

"Come down from there!"

Xia Luo glanced back. "What are you saying? The wind is too strong—I can't hear you!"

Boom!

Scarlet energy surged toward him, and Xia Luo slipped, plummeting from the skyscraper.

"No!"

"Oh my god! He jumped!"

"Relax, someone's jumping? Don't worry—Spider-Man is here!"
